Like most I was quite ecstatic to hear that DW7 was apparently being released in Europe in the same month as it is in Japan. This sounded like awesome news...until I actually sat down and thought about this. Games generally take at least a few months to properly translate, localise, dub over, etc. It's not simply a matter of directly translating from Japanese, localising can be quite a time consuming process, at least from what I've read about how companies like Atlus localise their games. So that got me thinking. This may mean that DW7 is pretty close to completion, and Koei's western branches have either begun localising the game, or will start very shortly. Or, and much more worrying... DW7 is going to have a rather rushed and slapdash localisation and dubbing in time for the scheduled March release date. I of course have no proof of this, but I fear Koei may be reverting from their decent quality/fairly good quality dubbing and localisation work, and reverting maybe to a slightly more slapdash affair. Any thoughts? |

KOEI doing things in a rushed and (as you put it) "slapdashed" manner? Unthinkable! |

It could also mean neither of this aswell. Companies that aim for simultaneous release dates world wide, often feed their other studios pieces of content at a time, so they can begin translating and localizing, while Omega Force is still developing it. Its a much more efficient way of doing things. This might be a bad example as its being delayed time and time again, but Sony is aiming for a simultaneous release with Gran Turismo 5. Localizing and continuous development can be done at the same time. |

Pretty much, yeah. If Koei wanted to try and do this "worldwide" launch in the first place, it pretty much meant all hands on deck with trying to insure a localization process goes according to schedule. Plus, doing anything that might help optimize sales in all regions would also be a good move. For example, taking away a feasible reason for American/European PS3 owners to import the JP version would just do more to make the American and European branches of Koei happy, most definitely. |

Definitely agree with the above two posters ^ Previous releases made it seem like the western markets were just an afterthought. Nice to see some of the same love Japan has always had

It's possible they're going to give up on English dub altogether and simply put it in subtitles. Which, for me, won't be too bad. Just don't do like SW3 and not put subtitles in during some parts (mainly the narration part at the beginning of each level when the character talks... seriously, what the hell Koei?) |

First of all I completely disagree with you about the voice acting in DW series and pretty much all of KOEI games, the voice acting in them is... terrible. Anyway, it's a little bit strange that the the European version (and hopefully the American version too) will be released with the Japanese version, but I have two theories about this. 1-
2- My second theory is that they're making both version separately and by that they are now making the Japanese version and the English version. Finally, I'd like to say that I can't wait for the game to be released and I wish that we're gonna see a voice acting like God Of War or Metal Gear Solid [/center] |

Voice acting is the least of my worries as long as i can understand it without reading down to a screen to try and figure out what the heck is going on i'm fine i just hope those in the US don't get such a severe delay as with SW3. There's no point in significantly delaying a game if there's little or no changes made to it. |

or they might have finished the script some time ago, giving the eng version a headstart on translating. |

I agree with SJ about the release dates....me being in the US and all I think we should get it when EU does since both are english speaking countries lol this is what i was talking about before when SW3 hadn't come out yet, why dont they just do it like that, release it simultaneously world wide or atleast back to back |
