I don't know if anyone posted this but here is the link to buy the game from Play Asia.

There's also a "premium box" for sale.

Edit: Oh, my link failed, it's fixed.

So, I'm guessing we wait another year to see this hit North America, if at all?

I really, really don't want to miss out on an installment of Samurai Warriors since I don't have a wii.

I'm sure they'll look better, but I doubt it would be "DW6" better. Man, I didn't think people would own a Wii PLUS another console. Usually when it comes to home consoles, I only own one in a generation, hence why I have a Wii and am sticking with it. So either way, I'll be getting 3+3XL.
Well the Wii is kinda half of a console since it's so cheap, and doesn't really get the games that Xbox and PS3 do. IMO it's kinda silly to just own a Wii if your 'big' (using this word loosely) on gaming. Only reason I have both a 360 and a PS3 is because I got the 360 for free. :shifty:
Have to agree with this statement. I too also only have a 360 cause I got it for free. Only tradeoff is I need to get the thing repaired first. Which isn't too bad an issue for me unless M$ screws me over and resets the region code on this bastard. I need it to stay Jp region. Only reason I even agreed to take this 360, is cause I want my Idolmaster.

If you send your console to M$, they would probably send you back a refurbish one that is different from yours. So if you want to keep the region, you might have to go to a private place.

On another note, yay for Sengoku Musou Z on Play-Asia, now I can finally pre-order it.

Hey, all I know is, I already sold my Wii copy in anticipations for the PS3 release. I want to make better use out of my 42 inch HDTV.

If they don't announce a US release date by the 27th I'm importing it. xD

I am quite confused as to why everybody is shooting the Wii down. It has just as enough power to run SW as the other consoles do. Granted, I do not understand why the 360 always gets the shove (not just here, but in other things as well, such as Eternal Sonata which was my debut voice role, and The Tales series, which most likely wont see the light of day here, ever, even if Troy Baker confirmed something)
I still don't understand why everybody suddenly wants the PS3 version over the Wii version. I would think Murasame is fun? I haven't played yet so I was just wondering.
Regardless, I can only think of what they could do for Noh and Okuni. Now that Goemon is out, she has to find a new second love interest besides Keiji. As for Noh, I do hope we get references to Saito Dosan, the whole "Kill The Fool" thing would also be good for her as well, as it is what made her have one of the best storylines, and one of the best struggle of the mind-esque development ever.

Well, superior version, 60 FPS, meaning less choppiness.

Murasame Castle was okay, I played through it once, and have absolutely no desire to ever do so again. I'm hoping the PS3's knockoff is more fun.

The Hope that maybe more online will be added to the PS3 version. Trophies, better friends list, Oh, and did I mention HD? =P

HD, in this case, is overrated, if you ask me. Just look at the screens, they don't look that much better than the Wii graphics, really. Slight upgrade in that department, nothing to get very excited over. They're just polishing up what they already had to work with. At least that's how it looks to me. I'm not that picky on graphics, honestly.

I will give you the hope of more online play though, that's definitely a possibility.

I'm still curious about the new mode, since Murasame is kinda fun, but it's also frustratingly difficult sometimes, so I don't play it that much. And the framerate doesn't bother me, so that's why I'm not jumping on the PS3 version unless the new mode sells it for me. As I've said before on that issue--to each their own. I'm not rebuying the whole game if the biggest difference is a new mode that I still won't play very much.

In the long run, which version you get comes down to personal preference, and the handful of differences between the two, or the difference in price, perhaps. It just so happens that most people would prefer the PS3 one, since it is indeed the superior version. As it stands, I'm content with the Wii version for the time being.

Technically, no it doesn't.

The problem is that if SW3 were designed for the PS3/360 first, then it should have been much smoother graphically (60fps), better overall visuals, more content, etc.

The Wii's hardware is not comparable to the PS3/360. Everyone knows this. That's why they dropped the frame rate to 30fps for the Wii version. It simply could not handle it.

I believe KOEI did what they could within the confines of the Wii hardware. Which begs the question, would the game have been drastically better if it were designed for the PS3/360 in the first place?

So, by getting the Wii version of XL, I am basically missing out on a lot of content?

No not really. I'd say the only thing you'd be missing out on in the Wii version of XL is the 60 fps. And if you don't care about graphics or framerate, then you're set.

And the mode that will be replacing Murasame.

Bassically it will be less of a headache to play it on the PS3 than the Wii with it's chopppy and slow gameplay.

Thats tough to say. Yeah the graphics would be leagues better had it been made for the PS3 right off the bat. But it's also way more difficult and time consuming to devellop for it, right? It really depends on how much time and money Koei would have been willing to put into the game. Right now SW3 screams half-assed money grab, so I think if it were develloped on PS3 first it would have been worse because they wouldn't have even tried to make it good enough, and would have just given us a really crappy game with the number of free mode characters rivaling DW6.

so............. are gracia, aya, and masanori the only characters koei will add? because it would be great to have all of the samurai warriors at least one installment that isn't a cross-over (aka warriors orochi). and it would be great if koei would tell us if this game will come overseas or not..... the wait is killing me.......

btw if koei does decide to add new as in never before seen new characters then who would you like to see? i'd like okatsu (even though she's fictional), masatoyo naito or nobushige oyamada so to add more playable officers in service of the takeda, and ittetsu inaba. naomasa li would be a great add also.

edit; oh and koei better make the graphics in this port rival or surpass that of dynasty warriors 6's.

Well it also depends what you play it on.

I tried playing SW3 for Wii on my 46 LCD....OMG I thought I was playing a N64 game the graphics were utter garbage. I even went out and bought the better connector for 480p......still pretty bad.

If SWZ looks like WOZ on PS3 then its leagues better. May not be up to DW6 or 7 standards but its crisp and detailed colors plus flowing capes and such.

And 60FPS wins it for me. 30 for a game like this was retarded. Super slow combos

well i have warriors orochi z its awesome the characters designs are great but the lighting of the environments and the quality of the buildings and such really retracted from the overall experience, and after about a month i got tired because i bought games that were graphically much much MUCH better than this game. so i think that koei would garner a larger fanbase that would play sw3z more if they improved these things.

and really? when i watched some vids of sw3 on youtube (cuz i dont have a wii i wanted to see wat i was missing out on), and the framrate (even though it was 30fps) didn't look that slow..... but yeah you played it so i believe you. :)

Edit: Btw i just wanted to ask how good was the story? How much replayability is in this game? And how good are the interactions with the characters? I'm new to this part of the thread because I just joined and I only usually go on the dw 7 forums cuz thats what has my eye. hehe.

See i'm kinda leaning towards your side dude, but on the other hand, those of us who got the Wii game and are already almost done with it (that being my case) are conflicted about purchasing a full port game instead of the cheaper expansion, nice graphics or not.

Also it would depend on just how the alternate modes are compared to Murasame and Sengoku History mode.
Your counsel is appreciated

Ok i dunno if this has been done yet, and if it has please tell me where i can find it, but can i have two screenshots of 3Z and 3 to compare the graphics? THis would really give me peace of mind, or at least allow me to make a more informed choice.

Alright, did my best to(quickly) get decently comparable shots of the same character in action. In this case Yukimura, since that's about all we have for Z right now.

Wii screen: Link
PS3 screen: Link

There's no doubt that the Z graphics are better--not that it helps I haven't found a higher res screen for the Wii version, either. But as you mentioned, after putting a fair amount of time into the Wii version, it's not enough to sway me, at least, at this point.

I bought the Wii one and I didn't like it because the castle's final stage is too hard to beat :/

I wonder if I should buy the ps3 version...
The reason you didnt like it is cuz it was too hard? lol

The chimera thing is easy if you know what to do, just use the cannons.

Otherwise you shouldnt of liked it cuz the horrid graphics and slow gameplay. Both a step down from SW2. Well on 360 anyway
Yes, I had to use the wii action replay codes to play that stage.

Mitsunari is my favourite character, I use the fan to do it but I just couldn't kill him and the time just runs out...
That was horrible!!
So yeah, I am not that good of a player and I admit that I love to run around and slashing soldiers lol.

What kind of modes do we have now?

holy crap Koei I just bought SW3 today! gimme a break!. I just find it weird that 3 months after SW3 FINALLY comes to the U.S 3 months later there's already an XL/Z for Japan. I'm guessing US will be seeing this in the Spring. Now are they goign to add more characters or is Gracia, Masanori, and Aya goign to be the only new characters? PLEASE KOEI put in Nobuyuki Sanada! his story plus, Ina's, and Yukimura's will be awesome. Battle of Naruma castle felt so weird because it's Ina plus a generic protecting it <_<

Nah, I don't think you're the only one. The people that are probably just aren't speaking up as much, most likely. I'll admit I'm a bit uneasy about posting on the subject sometimes, for fear of getting chewed out by ps3 fans--I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Anywho, I'm eager to hear more about this game in general now, since I don't think we've really heard any news since the initial announcement, no?

Hmmm... Anyone notice that in SW2 that Mitsunari filled his role and the roles of Kanbei and Hanbei and were added to the roster later. Also, in SW2 that Masanori and Kiyomasa were specifically mentioned by Hideyoshi as his stars and appeared in many stages than ended up getting added to the roster too for SW3/XL/Z?

What I'm saying is... Are there are any NPCs that stand out from past Samurai Warriors games and another character took on their role as well?

Such as Honda taking the role of Tokugawa's Guardians despite there being 3 others that appear in the games.

Yeah, I'm part of that club too. All I have IS a Wii.

Heck, I still need to get the original SW3. But maybe I can wait and get both at the same time for 2x the gameplay experience.

I am most likely getting it for the Wii. I have a PS3 and a 360, but the fact that I managed to beat all story modes despite how much I hated the game surprises me. I don't think HD graphics will make me want to do it all over again. >.<

So...yeah. Most likely Wii for me.
