So, can you change the element on 4th, 5th weapons ?
I saw a vid of Ina's 4th weapon with Shadow instead of Ice so kinda wondering

And anyone experiencing game freeze ?
This happened for me 5 times in the last 3 days
Never happened until I play Ranmaru, I was grinding and played Anegawa on hard. It froze 3 times consecutively and stopped after I loaded an interim save. It happened again while I tried to get his 4th. Today, while playing Ginchiyo I got it again. So far only happen while playing hard difficulty and stopped after I load a mid battle save. Kinda weird, random but quite annoying :(

Just recently received my copy of the game, and I have to say I'm enjoying quite alot.

Just a question though, how the heck do you make your own characters? And have access to History Mode? Do you have to wait for a certain amount of time for the latter mode to load? LOL sorry if the question's been answered already hehe....

Btw on the first run of a character's story, are the main missions the things you should worry about, or would you opt to try and complete the side missions as well? Because my OCD makes it so if I can't complete one side mission or main mission, I instantly quit and start again.... and it sucks.... lol.

One issue I have with the game though is the forced linearity in missions, as well as UTTERLY CRAPPY ALLIED A.I. It's even worse than DW7's.... I also hate that you have to buy characters rather than having the joy of unlocking them by finishing a certain character's story.

Then just buy a character you think has ties with the character you just finished unlocking. Simple as that.

Actually that system was very beneficial for me, as those who know my SW3 woes would say.

Yeah, but nothing ever beats that euphoria you get at the end of someone's story when the screen prompt comes up with "you've unlocked *insert name here*". And when you unlock more than one character like DW4/5, oh it's pure joy :XD But that's just my deluded self :)

Then again, to each his/her own. :)

Still works in some cases like Yukimura unlocks Kunoichi or Hideyoshi unlocks Nene......

You don't need the main mission
I have that OCD too :P

To make the matter worse, there is only kill this, protect that, run there... type of mission
Even worse than SW2

Find all the ninjas inside the castle and kill them
Thankyou :D .

I've finished 3 stories so far. Hanbei's, Yukimura's and Nobunaga's. I've also done the first stage for Oichi, Kaihime and also 3 stages for Kiyomasa. I have no idea why I keep switching characters. I normally never did it in SW2 :?:

After Kenshin's story gets done I might go and finish Oichi's just so I can unlock Nagamasa (because I opt to buy the character(s) that were most relevant to the person's story I just completed).

Btw, does anyone know how to rack up a good combo count before killing an enemy? My skills must be pretty poor, because I can't seem to get the combo gauge to remain intact enough for me to kill the officer and complete the side mission.... any help would be appreciated..... I feel like such a noob for asking these questions.... -_-

The combo book and the slow times clock helps
Lighting helps but that element is horrifying
Combo mission are easy for me, except that one of Oichi, took couple of load and reload

I have finished all females's stories and all their 4th
I got 5th for Kuno, Kichou and Ginchiyo
Yukimura is the only man with cleared story and 4th
Not because I like him but my bro cleared his story and his Osaka stage is pretty easy
I guess the rest is up to my brother since I may be back to get 4th, 5th weapons later, maybe :XD

Clock has nothing to do with combos. It slows down time for stage and missions giving your more time to complete them.

Best and fastest way to achieve high combo is to use Copper Shield + Combo Book. If you have Lightning element, use normal Musou attack on ground. If not, then go with mounted Musou. You should get 300-500 hits easily and even more depending from the size of the crowd.

Regarding main and side missions, I recommend you always do the latter if possible. Side missions usually give you weapons, items and materials or sometimes increase/lower attack/defense/speed for your allies/enemies. However, don't stress too much about them when playing stories for the first time. It's not that easy to complete them with weak character and low tier equipment. Just focus on the stage itself and most importantly, try to have fun. You can always go back and do them later. And if you're not completionist, you don't even need to clear them all. They're only required when you're hunting rare weapons and a specific trophy.

I'm currently living and working in South Korea and I noticed at a local department store that they had Sengoku Musou 3 in stock! Can anyone confirm whether the game retains Japanese dubbing because come wintertime I considering purchasing the game, along with a PS3.

Well I got the asian version of SW3Z and to my surprise the game came with both Japanese Audio and Subtitles. That meant I could still use the translation guides on the net :D .

So yeah, even if the subtitles and user interface were in a different language, the Japanese voices would still remain the same for Koei games such as this (another example being WOZ, which had Japanese voices but a Chinese interface for its Asian version).

You should definitely check this out along with DW7 and WOZ if the shop has them in stock. These three games will eat up your days for quite a while :)

No, it only affects to time. If you want combo counter to remain longer on the screen you're going to need a certain ability which can be obtained for gauntlets.

And while we're at it, anybody here know what a small blue box (has 3 golden circles on it) does? Played over 250 hours and still haven't figured it out :/ .

One of the combos I use is the item that allows you infinite musou. During that time your combo meter doesn't decrease so you can rack some hits in before dealing the final blow to the objective officer.

Some officers like to mindlessly run to you during musou time à la Oichi 1000 combos mission

Well, I don't know. That's why I'm asking. FAQs are no help and game manuals don't have that item listed. I guess I would recognize it if someone made a list of all items.

Question, how do you switch BGM? I finished Kenshin's story and a message popped up when I was at the preparation screen for another battle (different story ofc). It said something about the Triangle button, but yeah can anyone tell me how to change the music?

My way of getting 1000 hits combo and above

skill needed sorry i forget the names it being a while seems i play it.

Search the faqs yourself.

The skill that allow u to gain musou bar while riding on horse

Skill that allow u to let your combo have more time to last(meaning if u have more time to chain combo

Use a horse(preferable the grey best horse)just use it to knock the soldiers while trying to gain musou bar Do not hit the soldiers(meaning press square or triangle)just knock will do.Chain up some combo until u get three level of musou bar.Use a combo book and Unleash the mounted musou attack and use up all the three levels. If u have only one musou bar,it also fine

Use the musous(unlimited for 15 secs) and continue to chain combos u should be able to chain up to more than 1000 by now,if not, simply start to attack u should be able to do it.

i forgot how to access history mode because for mine gameplay,i clear all characters story modes get all level 4 and 5 weapons all best amours ,boots and gaulets horses bear, before playing history

As for creating,u can create very soon, just go to edit character, there will be one option to create new officer, remember after going to the options, there may be some japan error msg(i'm not sure i do not know japanese) do not press any buttons, simply wait(i waited for quite some time) then u will be able to create.

As for side mission and main, actually it depend on your choices. When i first play the games, i usually ignore all just clear the story mode while training your level. When i am interested in getting 4th weapon and 5th weapon, then i start to practice on that particular stage,to fulfill the side missions.

Oh!! I know!! It took me forever to find that one out. The blue box with the little gold crest makes the enemy soldiers around you fall down and tremble. It's like the most useless item in the game. =P
