I think it will be the addition of the Jin Dynasty cause since i think DW2 to DW6 it has been the same thing over and over always ends in Wu Zhang and this will give a new suprise and give DW series a push..
I also Think the alternate weapons would make a grea impact to those who think strikeforce is superhard
and wants too just play the original three secondary DW games( DW1,2,3,4,5,6,7 Etc. ,XL,Empires).......

Note:i really din't understand what i jus said

It seems they have decided to go further than Wu Zhang because the Japanese had just open the game stops at Wu Zhang and go no further. So they took that into account. That's what I think I read somewhere, anyway.

The game will know an epic success 'cause it's named "Dynasty Warriors".

I think this is the only true reason.
Add to this many new characters.
The end of the story with the Jin (the three kingdoms fans gonna be happy).

And the graphics which are way better than before !

That's it.

I think if koei gets a bunch of new great adds with good character development, gets rid of a few of the characters that aren't needed, plays out the new part of the story well, adds plenty of battles and just puts way more effort in the series than before, then it will have great success.

*great success* meaning "Among ourselves, the fans."

I doubt great success would actually mean winning any game rewards and garnering universal acclaim from gaming outlets and critics.

hmmm... I say add something new and different all the time.

Unpredictable ambushes, A larger variety of combo possibilities, Greater presentation and voice work (up until this day I still think that Dynasty Warriors 4 was the best Dynasty Warriors out there), More interactions with characters, backgrounds, animals, and weapons.

I love the franchise but I do hear out those who stick with "KOEI, just give up already YOU SUCK!!!" types of individuals and as a huge fan, it angers me because I know KOEI can provide a better development within the franchise. I personally feel that they really are taking their time now to make the game amazing but I just have to say, Be more unpredictable and leave new comers to the franshise or those who speak poorly of it and/or even fans of the franchise in awe.

One thing I have been seeing since DW5 is the exaggerated moves, like, Sky rocketing jumps and comet crashing we watch in the openings. DW6 with running on water, launching weapons and still grabbing them after and do air weaponlocks, DW7 flying off horses and running on walls and kicking horses and using a chain of a friend or foe's weapons to do sick moves while being dragged or whatever. Now if all this can be incorporated into gameplay, running up walls, causing wall explosions like Strikeforce's intro, jumping off horses and/or kicking off them, doing these insane jumps and crashing down like a meteor and colliding can increase some epic and sick qualities to the game. It just angered me to see all that be done in the opening and not incorporated into the actual gameplay.

I know DW7 will be great but I hope they finally add more then we expect.... After all, it is the first official Dynasty Warriors under Koei/Tecmo. Let's see how well they worked together to make a far more memorable Dynasty Warriors then all audiences expect. Kind of crossing my fingers on this one.

I think the addition of so many characters is a definite plus for this one. Also I'm really happy that they're changing back to old weapons/ditching the renbu system, since it made battles in DW6 so uninteresting.

Also the continuation of the story makes things more interesting and can get someone who has never read the book (like me) a better background for when I do decide to start reading it.

Addition of Mr. T. His story will revolve around him trying to pity Huang Gai, who imitate him. When you are playing Chi Bi on Wu's side, first thing to do is prevent Mr. T from pitying Huang Gai, otherwise the fire attack won't work.

But to be honest, DW7 will be a success to me if they turn out to be more compelling than DW6.

One thing that will really make this a success is how dynamic and deeply sophisticated the chronicles mode will be. The number one thing that will keep a lot of lasting appeal is have many outcomes to one battle whether it be battle strategies or major difference of how you can best win. A sophisticated weapons system like in Warriors Orochi 2, except no ability to create game breaking super weapons, and a character customization could really stretch the life of this game.

Right now it seems they'll be able to please existing fans unless they screw up with Jin vs. Wu, and even if they do screw up with it, rest of the game seems pretty good.

That said, if they every wish for new audience, they'll need to succesfully revamp the battle system. It's probably the single biggest issue that's preventing the series from gaining new fans as people consider the battle system very repetitive and I can't really blame them much. After that, they need to focus on characters. I've seen people often comment on how each character should feel more like a unique character, ie. they should have a stronger story. Also, I believe voice acting in the series is considered a joke, albeit that's not the biggest issue.

So overall, it depends on how we define 'epic success'. Then there's my personal opinions as well, but I doubt they're worth very much here as it's far from certain they'd make this an 'epic success' and it would also most likely require more work.

By far definitely the storyline, without the story the game would not be fun, and now that Koei is going even further into the time line, it will be much better
