We can't have the failboat that is Liu Chan and then NOT have Pang De. Sorry, but if you're going to include fictional characters, failboat characters and 6 year olds, there has to be space somewhere for an actual warrior with the potential for a decent personality. Especially in Wei, which seems to be the refuge for anyone with an ounce of testosterone over the age of 24 |

If Pang De is really deleted, maybe he'll be back later in DLC. |

I've searched for info about these two. About Wen Qin, i must say no by now. I don't found much info about him. But that Guanqin Jian is very interesting to me. Read his infos in Wiki. Could bring interesting battles too (if they're not already in DW7). I will definitely put him into my wishlist (which is so countless). I just don't know, in which faction i should put him. Wei or Jin? Hmmmm, Wei has so many, Jin is lacking. Jin then. And i think, he served more in that time. Who doesn't know him, here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guanqiu_Jian |

So Xiao's hat deceives how she looks as i was sure she had pigtails but they don't break tradition and have her keep her ponytail i though she would have had her hair let down which would have been nice to see. Now that i've seen everyone i can state on the rest. Zhuge Liang: pretty cool a lot more white but i'm cool with that Dong Zhuo: scarier than before and in a way reminds me of his deformed DW6 outfit from MOZ ![]() Liu Bei: still looks as good as ever plus he retains his swords ![]() Zhang He: KOEI clearly went back to his roots and toned him down back to square one which is good as a lot of us missed the DW Vega plus i reckon he still has both claws the image is probably decieving peopleLiu Chan: i thought he was as old as Liu Bei at first but upon closer inspection he looks much younger and is adorable i can see how he'll fit into Shu's fall now since he's only a kid. Xiahou Ba: he definately can be noticed looking so young with that helmet on and i didn't expect him to weild a greatsword this doesn't concern me about possible similar weapons with Guan Ping |

SInce I know seen the close-up of Xiao Qiao, she looks fine except for that damn hat. I know its trying to make her similar to Da but still he just doesn't fit at all. |

I personally would like them to look a bit older. I'm fine with Da Qiao both her DW5 and DW7 design. I guess Da just looks a lot more mature in both games. But it's Xiao that bothers me and it's irk me when that little girl is actually somebody's wife (even if it's just a video game). For them to be grown ladies, they don't have to look anything like Zhen Ji or DW6 Diao Chan (design-wise: sexy, revealing etc). If they look SSX-age and dress modestly like Cai Wenji, it would be more appropriate. And those girls' outfits in the artworks aren't scandalous yet they still look very attractive (though they do kinda have big assets)

Does anyone feel like if they dont come with a major breakthrough in either graphics or gameplay, a dynasty warriors 8 should be pospone for the time and they should just create new characters a put them as DLC until then? |

DW never was about graphic. As for gameplay, they did try something different in DW6 but got backlash responses from majority of fans so can't blame for going back to the old territory. Though I do agree they should just put out new characters and stages as DLC and use their resources to aim higher with DW8. |

Oh wow~ Anyways I feel like commenting about this update cause its Shu-centric, yay~ Liu Shan: Yes! Another one of my most wanted adds gets in AND it makes people mad, so much awesome. Glad he doesnt look like a babbling idiot, but doesnt look like a generic badass. Fluffy coat is alright and the hat he stole from Sun Quan is...okish. Dunno if rapier fits him, though. Liu Bei: My favorite Liu Bei to date, his attire looks more elegant than 6 and he still lacks facial hair, which pleases me. Oh and gotta love the twin swords too! Zhuge Liang: He looks pretty awesome as well, but nothing out of the ordinary for him, IMO. Zhang He: Love the Vega look and just glad he kept his claws. Looking awesome. Xiao Qiao: I dont particularly like it. Dont hate it either, though. Dong Zhuo: I love how this guy looks now, wishing they still have a Santa alt costume for him. Xiahou Ba: Wooooooow! Never thought they would add someone like him! Good to see him with a huge sword and he looks pretty cool with the helment on. |

What if Xiahou Ba is the last Jin character you'll ever get for DW7? We still have a lot of returning characters and at least two more new characters to be revealed so we'll probably get more big updates between now and Japanese release date. |

Why Wen Qin? He wasen't all that noteworthy. Especially since he missed the most important clash against Sima Shi which his son single handedly caused Sima Shi to die. Really, his son fills in for the Wen Family much better especially since he did more and lived much longer. As for Guanqiu Jia... We already have Zhuge Dan to represent the rebellions. Do you want them to add in the other rebels as well? Such as Gongsun Yuan? I'm sure he was just as important in the grand scheme of things as Guanqiu Jia. Especially since Guanqiu Jia's rebellion was 'very' short lived and the only success that occured was under Wen Yang. After all, the only real merits that he had were... 1) Favored by Cao Rui 2) Lead an attack against Gongsun Yuan - Attack was aborted 3) Sima Yi brought him along as he went to own Gongsun Yuan 4) Dealt with Barbarian Tribes that are nowhere near as significiant as the Nanman 5) Lead a failed rebellion where he was soundly defeated. Won no real battles here and only Wen Yang the son of Wen Qin met with any success. |

Well, I think there will be no more than two new characters. It is probably 2 sets of scans (which is enough to show the rest of the returning characters). We get a new character per set, I think. |

But it got backlash, not because it was new, but because it just plain sucked. The whole renbu system was paradoxic and made playing the game a pain in the ass, it's not surprising that the overall opnion on it was that it blew, big time. Does that mean Koei should have just ran back to their safe and secure charge system? No, it's understandable, but no. They should have upgraded it and made it better, which they haven't, it's still looks just as robotic as ever, which is my main gripe with it. I'm excited to see the new additions to the gameplay though, I wonder if they will make going back to charges worth it. lol

Ok, new characters, new opinions: Zhuge Liang: Interesting as always, let's start the fight with Sima Yi Liu Bei: Seen that in the trailer, but now in a more clear view. Liu Chan: One word... Fail Zhang He: He has a bit of a DW3 flair, if I'm honest. The chest cloth thing. Xiao Qiao: Puffy hotpants! She seems more of a loli than ever. Dong Zhuo: Getting bigger and hairier in each instalment Xiahou Ba: Knew that, only the broadsword, which seems small, is new. |

I really like the charge system but I agree with your post in that they could have upgraded it. I would like then to make it more in like with the SW series in which you have the charge based system but expanded upon. Certain characters are more charge based, some more s-string based and some more special attack based. This would make it easier to get rid of clones aswell as two characters who use the same weapon can have very different movesets. It would definately help to differentiate between characters. |

Now that the scans are clearer, I have to give it to Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang, and Zhang He for being the best of the bunch. I too am gonna miss Xiao Qiao's DW6 costume though, and I have the urge to make a Liu Shan 'Haters gonna hate' avatar or something because I tend to like most characters people don't XD I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes shaven Liu Bei (and him wielding twin swords) either! Yaaaay! Dong Zhuo kept his blanket beard and I'm agreeing with other who say he still looks creepy/evil/etc. I'll be returning to watching my calendar. It needs to be March D: EDIT: And even though it seems like Koei took a step back after the DW6 backlash regarding the charge system/everything else, I still think they're busting their butts to the best of their abilities because I'm still excited for DW7 non-returning characters or not. Well, at least the claws are still in for sure. But now I'm worried about many people having the same movesets. |

I do not think that you have to worry for that. Although some characters have the same type of weapon, they probably will not have the same movesets or so, we find similarities as in DW3-DW5 movesets. So, I think the design of weapons will be different depending on the character. |

I'm excited to see the new additions to the gameplay though, I wonder if they will make going back to charges worth it.
