Yep, it's the thing to do to hate on the English VA's and adore a language that the majority of you can't even understand, immediately claiming that it's better than the English that you can understand. You people ugh...
You know, I agree as well, it really has no sense at all, unless you know Japanese. Actually it's just something to do, most are followers and just hate english voices just to hate something, it amuses me honestly.

Eh, I'd much rather have Pang De back than have some new Wu chick, but whatever, it's totally out of my control. She's uh, got large tracts of land...At least she supposedly had a nice personality. *shrug*

Well I wont say they are hating on the voices, some said they like them. As for the ones you said hate the voices, most them simply gave their opinion on how they sound, I mean come on you can't say they are good, but they aren't bad. The reason why some of us prefer the Japanese VAs is because they put more heart and effort into it and you can tell even if you don't understand, as for the English VAs you can tell some of them don't really try,but others are really good.

Well if you UNDERSTAND english, and it sounds bad, the japanese, although you won't understand what they are saying (Actually, you do. Subtitles, the ingame text, if they talk you will understand via the text)

IMO people like how it sounds, I personally like jap VA in most games, it sounds good, (unless it's on some english dude, looks funny :D)

It's all based on personal opinion, can't be ugh someone likes jap just becasue they don't understand it, we understand the english and it's like or hate, so that's somehow wrong?

IMHO I feel that the JP voices match the characters better, I can understand a little bit of JP and to be honest it just sounds more pleasant to my ears and also I can take the game a bit more seriously. I have always preferred the JP voices in the DW as well as in Anime.

I don't feel this way to be part of an in crowd or to "follow" people as I played DW before I ever joined this forum. This is my personal preference and I don't honestly see any problem with it as I don't really care if people hate the JP voices, again just personal preference.

I agree with you, defiantly.... The Japanese voices are fitting to the characters... Tecmo Koei doesn't give a crap about that though.... Oh well.

Yes, exactly. Let's stop speaking only about her "outside". We should begin to speak about her "inside". Well, we know, that she is not a jealous person. That is at least somthing good characteristic.
Besides, she don't even need to be jealous about other females.
Aaaaand....weeeee....aaall....know.....whyyyyyyyy :D .

agreed.
I concur. Sure English VAs may not be all that right now, but let us not judge them for better or worse on the morsels we have heard. Secondly, how would VAs in another language enhance the gameplay for you?
No this is NOT the case. I have felt that way before on certain occasions, but in the case of Dynasty Warriors the Japanese voices have a lot more going for them.

I'm not one of those people who normally wants to watch something in the original Japanese form just 'cause either, I honestly feel the English voices in DW are poorly chosen and acted.

Why does Zhong Hui have a english accent?
Because an English accent is the most pompous sounding dialect in the world. :P

Maybe if they delivered the lines better and some of it didn't sound cheesy and they didn't alter the original script, maybe it would sound better.

@Huang Yueying I know right, its like they do it on purpose because the game isn't that popular in the west.

Some may choose the Japanese option because said voices give their characters feeling and emotion; it sounds genuine. I usually go for the Japanese setting and then switch to English. Some voices sound better in English than in Japanese to me when it comes to DW, and sometimes both voices sound great in any language.

When I said English I meant BRITISH. Why is a Chinese character talking with such a accent!? I would prefer a Chinese track or Japanese Track, Chinese to help give the benefit of the era and the Japanese because for some reason Japan is really good at getting the right VA for each character and delivering dialog without cheese and scripting stuff properly compared to US/UK dubbing companies.

Yes because the only factor to good acting is language. Good logic right there. We'll just pretend that tone, volume, voice consistency, good voice directors, believability, emotion, delivery etc just don't exist.

Because every single character looks caucasian.

Probably don't, I just can't be arsed to check. But you get my point.

I wish they had it like Street fighter where you could put characters in a certain language, although it was tough for me when it came Bison both his VAs are excellent.

When you said English you meant English! Scots, Welsh and Irish accents are different from English ones. Thank you.

And it more about your actual point, most characters have American accents as the voice actors are generally from the US. If they made them speak with Chinese accents, it would probably put people off a bit. If the ancient Chinese warriors are speaking English in te first place, the accent doesn't really matter.

Am I the only one who actually liked all the voices? Sima Shi, Wang Yuanji and Guo Huai's were particularly fitting. Ok, Zhong Hui is pretty lul but it sounds like he'll a bit of a ham, a Yuan Shao-lite maybe, which will be good for laughs. Plus, I never liked him anyway, as a DW character or in history ;)

:/

You all are missing the point. I said nothing about a American English accent. In many countries when you refer to THE ENGLISH you normally are referring to the Brits not the Scotts or the Irish, we just call them the Scotts and the Irish. I can handle a US English track. Zhong Hui sounds BRIT (aka like a English). That isn't even close to a US English accent :/

And why would I want US people talking like Chinese people?

I am nearly offended by your assumption.

I think it's fair to have at least one English voice when every single other voice is American, don't you?

In terms of the Wei-Jin argument, all the Jin characters can be there for the later Wei battles, so that doesn't really change anything from past games. Deng Ai will be at Wu Zhang Plains, so will Sima Yi. Sima Yi will trap Ma Su at Jie Ting, etc. He'll still be in Wei and rise to power there.

Jin is Wei in this game, as all the characters here never served Jin, only set things in motion. Jin officers are Sima Yan, Du Yu, Jia Chong, Yang Hu, etc. These guys served Wei, not Jin, and Koei's calling the Sima Clan Wei Jin. So Jin if a different kingdom and dynasty, but their characters ARE Wei officers. Wei's my favorite kingdom, but even I can see they aren't getting the short end of the stick.
