am i the only one that thinks the weapons that have been shown so far seem rather dull. look at Lu Bu's halberd, it looks like one that not even a generic officer would be given. and a picture of Taishi Ci shows his with little skinny rods.
1RST rank weapons. Past Taischi Ci pics have had much bigger rods.
they brought the weapon ranks back from DW4? or is this something new, i must have overlooked when this information came out.

It just gets to me when people substitute British and English for each other, as though it's exactly the same. I think everyone knew when you said English accent you were meaning the accent of people from England.

Oh and Scots has only 1 T in it.

When I said English I meant BRITISH. Why is a Chinese character talking with such a accent!? I would prefer a Chinese track or Japanese Track, Chinese to help give the benefit of the era and the Japanese because for some reason Japan is really good at getting the right VA for each character and delivering dialog without cheese and scripting stuff properly compared to US/UK dubbing companies.
Because every single character looks caucasian. Probably don't, I just can't be arsed to check. But you get my point.
Wait did you just say that all Caucasians have a British accent?
I am nearly offended by your assumption. I think it's fair to have at least one English voice when every single other voice is American, don't you?
I'm sorry? Me: When I said English I meant BRITISH. You: Because every single character looks Caucasian. Me:Wait did you just say that all Caucasians have a British accent?
Im more offended that you guys think we have "a" english accent when the english have many accents. -_-

You mean like in videogames or movies when 'Great Britain' is just London?
yeah it's kinda annoying. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland need more love in videogames D;

It's kinda the same effect as calling Canadians American. Never goes down well xD

I wish they had it like Street fighter where you could put characters in a certain language, although it was tough for me when it came Bison both his VAs are excellent.

This, so hard. I wish blazblue had this option, i honestly find both languages very well done, and only slightly prefer some on either direction (Tao's JP, please! Tager in english is -awesome-, along with bang. Hakumen in jp, it just goes better KOKUUJIN hell yeah... but i'm going off on a tangent now)

More games should have the option to set specific chars to specific languages, it's something unexpectedly cool about SF4, even if i've never liked SF games.

I prefer japanese voices, i always have. For some people to call that stupid or say there no reason for it....I guess people aren't aloud to have an opinion. The reason i prefer them? It's just that mostly the english voices are terrible, i would honestly rather have something i can read while the person at leasts sounds cool and natural to me. You're right, we can't understand japanese, but to me at least i prefer that over some crappy voice acting that grates on my nerves. I do not just immediately shut down any english VA or dubbing. For example, in deathnote i think the voices are great and very fitting so i prefer to watch it in english. there are various animes and movies that are just fine in english, but for those who do not sound appealing to me, i use the japanese option. There is a different thread made for complaints about the game, maybe we should make a different thread where you can attack eachothers opinions and preferences by that logic.

My caucasian comment was more directed at your question of why a Chinese character has a British accent; I should have isolated it.

If you don't like the english VA's, you can always mute it.

The option menu has always had that, voice and music volume.

That said, I don't give a crap about VA's as long as I can play the game and enjoy it. And let's face it, if this will be bad, nothing will be as bad as DW3's, you flaming eeeeeediots.... :shifty:

But I wouldn't mind a Mandarin dub too, if just for the sake of authenticity.

I'm fine with all the other voices besides Zhong Hui, its just a bummer he has to sound so snotty and weird... But why would I care about Zhong Hui in the first place? He's just another Zhang He at the end of the day.... I have to admit though, I DO like his weapon.

Yep, it's the thing to do to hate on the English VA's and adore a language that the majority of you can't even understand, immediately claiming that it's better than the English that you can understand. You people ugh...
I actually speak Japanese pretty well, and understand it. So that comment doesn't really apply to every single person on here, buddy.

I just think sometimes the Japanese actors are more passionate.

Yeah, i thought that too as i saw the video. His movesets are looking somehow special.

This is pretty true, i have a friend who is so adamant about "GIVE THE DUB A CHANCE" and then if i don't like it he gets all "WATCH IT ANYWAY :realangry: "

And, really, after you watch enough, and start to pick up things, you find out even the subtitles are annoyingly off (it so pisses me off when i hear things and actually can tell what's being said, but in the subs it flips it around for no reason, not even making it worded better or anything)

I'm not taking any japanese classes, or making a huge effort to learn it, but it's not hard to pick up some things, and recognize it mid-sentence or whatnot.

Sometimes, actually knowing the language works against you too, when you fluently know a language (only english here, don't get me wrong), you're a harsher critic on it, it's much easier to tell how badly something is done.

Because of that, some people change it to jp because the english might not be -bad-, but it certainly isn't -great- and if it's in jp, it doesn't matter, because you can't tell, so you can assume it is good, and enjoy it more, without getting bothered by <insert character>'s pronunciation of <insert word>.

I enjoy listening to both languages just to satisfy my curiosity. I do the same when I watch foreign films. I usually watch it in its native language first, then in English sometime later. Subsequent viewings are in whichever language I prefer for that specific movie, and it's not always the same. I like having the option to listen to both, but I don't necessarily prefer one over the other as a rule.

Some DW voices are pretty freaking hilarious and sound nothing like I think they should, but hey...to me it's just a part of the series at this point.

In my opinion, if Zuo Ci was in the game, his weapon would be the flying swords.... It kind of resembles his old card move-set.

Now there is a secondary voice option I can get behind!

Not only do I think the Chinese language(s) is (are) much nicer to listen to, but to follow on from your point of authenticity, having Japanese voices in a game about China is like having, I don't know, German voices in a game about France because you like the language.

Now, I'm not bashing the suggestion, just questioning it's ability to hold water.

I just think sometimes the Japanese actors are more passionate.
That and the fact that in Japan, Seiyuu acting is taken VERY VERY seriously, almost like an art form. Seiyuu's in Japan are on par with high class celebrities.

Whereas in the US? Just see it as another job. Sure there are some American VA's I can mention like Frank Welker, Tara Strong, Hynden Walch, etc, but except for a couple like Steve Blum and Yuri Lowenthal, none of the really high-class VA's are in DW.

And even those two can sound bad if their Voice Director is lousy. If there's anybody to blame for lame Koei VA's, blame the Voice Director.

Well as long as Ding Feng sounds like Raoh from FOTNS I'll be fine. Come to think of it the whole cast in that game had excellent voice acting, IMO, not to mention they had some cool ass lines.

That's exactly what I'm saying! A Japanese VA is a very serious position. I mean, hell, it was almost a national tragedy when Heihachi Mishima's VA, Daisuki Gouri-san, committed suicide!

Does that apply for Ma Dai and Bao's VA's?

She's known for her non-jealous. And in this game she is called Lian Shi.

You know, I an genuinely disappointed in the quality of Wei Yan and Pang Tong's scans. I guess they'll be fully revealed via website, or another Famitsu scan later, but at least this gives me some clarification of Yanners returning to his pre-DW6 glory.

Always a plus.

Just because a certain number of officers use the same weapon stile & movements like others. "Lu xun, liu bei" for example. :asia:

Yep. If he would be in the game (impossible by now), he could have possibly this weapon-type. Hopefully we will get Zuo Ci as DLC. As he is an "Other"-character. Besides, do you know the movie "The Storm Warriors (Storm Riders 2)"?
The actor Ekin Cheng uses that weapon-type too. There's a scene, where he controls 1000 swords. That looks sooooo amazing. I guess that would be too much for Zhong Hui.

I don't think they will be on the website. They were shown in a screenshot, and while I don't think it was entirely an accident, being that they weren't particularly "official reveals" I don't see them being added to the website.
