Hopefully we'll see such a scenario, considering we'll be using Huang Gai at Chi Bi :2up:
That would be epic..... I hope that will be one of the stages...

I'd expect him up to te fire attack and then Zhou Yu takes over. Just feels like both of them are important enough there to give it to only one.

I'm hoping that they keep up the quality they've had with it's stage design too. Always one of the best IMO.

EDIT: Operating ship/boats would be great. I felt a bit cheated when I got on an allied rowing boat and the guy with the oar just stood there. Would make water travel far quicker.

I wonder what the stage in conquest mode is with Lu Meng in that weird room.....
Probably some kind of reference to when Sun Quan tells him to improve his knowledge and scholarship, hopefully this means we'll see some nice character development for Lu Meng ^^

I was talking about a number of ships.
It could be implanted also in Gan Ning scenario!
Remember that the ship on chi bi, or the boats, just moved for 10 seconds, and without enemies at your position.
Then, the ship disapeared...
If they improve that, more like an a hostile boarding... the battle would win a lot.

It would be nice if a skill can be learned that can allow throwing horses like javelins, or kicking them to cause domino effects :XD

I remember in DW3 they dubbed the cutscenes into English, but left all the battle cries in Japanese (like when using Lu Bu's charge attack)

Maybe that's what they're planning to do here. It would certainly save time and money for the localization.

I just hope your allies don't steal your kills.

Just killed Lu Bu on DW6 chaos mode there, and Yuan Shao, Cao Cao and about 5 other generics all ran up and beat him to death and stole my kill. Was not happy ¬¬

or when they're on horseback and push you out the way, it really irritated me.

Hopefully there's none of that in DW7

Ya Ken's Rage was like that. Japanese battle cries outside of the English dialogue, which is fine since it's hard to tell that the battle cries are voiced by someone else. :)

The problem is that if allies don't have aggressive a.i., then the battles will look tame and boring like they always have been seeing allies and enemies just staring at each other and only attack like once every 5 minutes.

But if they are going to do that then they should add more visible allies and enemies on the battlefield to at least get the impression that you are on a battlefield instead of being surrounded by bowling pins. :P

Question: So we only get the DW1 outfit of LuBu and Zhao Yun if we buy DW7 in the first day? Can we download it after then? Will it be free?

off-topic: DW Gundam 3 is announced to have an overseas release :D

I'm guessing they will all be available for download eventually (probably no time soon). And if any costume pack is free (aside from DW6), it will probably be DW1. I can't see the other packs being free.

On DW2,3, and 4 it was always fun for me to take a fully maxed character onto hard mode and allow everyone else to die except for the main camp and then push the enemy back along side my soldiers, fighting in a helms deep like battle where everyone is fighting desperately at once. I would then drive them all the way to there main camp and all the allied soldiers would come with me and it just felt like a real battle.

Wow...

Someone needs to mail this paragraph to KOEI and have them nail it on a wall...

Dude...that to me is like the essence of what make DW soo special...tactical battlefield action....in the face of insurmountable odds...rising to the challenge.... and in the end...standing victorious...hell yeah... :2up:

Reminds me of one time playing as Zhou Tai on Battle of He Fei on Hard...all the allies had died except for me and Mr. Quan....I lived up to my reputation as his bodyguard and destroyed them all....one by one...good times... :D

 I remember I use to always do that.

Definitely the most challenging one was DW3 - Wu Zhang Plains - Shu side. That whole base where Zhuge Liang camped had that extremely long walk way; if you wait long enough that whole walkway would be filled and it would be impossible to escape unless you got on a horse.

You should try it some time.

Ha...I think I remember that one...it was like a winding pathway...you could get easily overpowered...just "Lu Bu" it! :D

I wish I still had DW3...you guys make me want to play it again -.-

I don't really enjoy how mission based Dynasty Warriors has become. I used to enjoy just mowing down hordes (and not having to worry too much about my allies) just mindlessly throwing myself into the chaos...

Now I have to go kill this guy before he gets to point A, and then make sure this dude stays alive long enough to get to point B, and I have to make sure this area is clear before reinforcements can arrive...otherwise my allies start to die...

I dislike a mission emphasis as well. It limits your choice of viable battle strategies and feels more like an arbitrary checklist than an attempt to simulate the flow of battle. It wasn't so bad in DW6 because the missions were more for optional targets, but SW3's implementation of the concept ruined my interest in buying the game. I would love to see these games operate with a strong real-time strategy engine under the hood. The beat 'em up gameplay would remain the same, but battle flow would be more about securing positions and reinforcing allies than having to take the exact same actions every time.

Well I think for story mode, there will be key objectives, not sure how much freedom and time players have to complete those objectives. Not sure how different the Chronicle versions of the stages will play, but maybe they will be more flexible.

Usually a mix of stages that either have 'eliminate enemy officers in any order' and the 'do this before this happens' could mix things up a little so the goal doesn't feel the same every time. :)

So...... Wow I just noticed how small that information release was... Only 3 characters. Usually we get AT LEAST 6, oh well, hopefully next time we'll see more :D After all, its only about a month (and 6 days) until the japanese release. KOEI's got to get a move on, and release more information.

We only have 13 more characters to reveal IIRC. PV 2 next week, 6 the week after (15/16th), probably a small website update the week after that and 7 characters the following week (1st/2nd) would have all the characters revealed one week before the game's Japanese release date hits.
