anyways, regardless whether or not you may feel that your *EVERY* opinion *HAS* to be expessed in a thread solely about the upcoming game, all opinions don't have to be said.
Agree, but unless they don't pertain at all it's up to the poster to decide whether they want to share their opinion.

Quote:

The fact that you *DO* know that there's a complaint thread for your own self-proclaimed opinions, you've come here to cause problems. Obviously it's hard for those to follow the rules, which is why some feel compelled to express how annoying it is to read that same history crap
Nasser's post did as much praise as it criticized, don't see why you seem to think it was otherwise. Maybe if you didn't read just "half of that", you would know.

Quote:

Who cares if so and so did this and that? I'm obviously not here for a history lesson, nor am I playing these games for that matter.
Some play the games to see their favorite figures or era brought to life. Is that so hard to understand? Nobody really wants to see the games become only based on history (or the novel, for that matter), nor should they expect it to be. They just want, again, to see events . We're not playing the game for you, and it's only right we should be able to express our opinions as well. It's ignorant for anyone to argue otherwise.

Quote:

You should know that Koei feels the same way; they're not making these games to make you pass your history class.
Obviously not. But it's not for pure ficiontal entertainment either. KOEI's co-founder Shibusawa Kou said his aim was: To replicate the same experience in others, he aims to make all his projects "entertain and educate" players.

Quote:

Saying that females/fictional characters are useless is completely based off of your *EGO* and *PERSONAL WANTS*, because to my understanding
Umm, duh? No one has ever said "It is everyone's opinion that this certain character sucks."

Quote:

The only thing historical characters provide, are out of the ordinary scenarios, which is all Koei cared about
Personality, weapons, exploits, relationships, etc. lol

Simply do not post. This thread doesn't need to be a non-stop kind. No new info = no posting, simple as that.
Thank you for not being a moderator. What's the purpose of this thread if not for discussing the game in general?

Also, your post was pretty much off-topic and all you did was complain. Using your reasoning, maybe you should take it to the Complaints thread, or maybe not post it at all.

Nasser

we shouldn't like everything KOEI does.
Exactly. While eventually we should all come to accept what they do, that doesn't mean we have to like it nor does it mean we shouldn't voice displeasure (whether or not it's in the right thread is another matter).

Thank you LLSmoothJ for clearing that up.

If the only thing they do not have, is the ability for you to play as them, it's useless. Especially if they have a generic already usable moveset/weapon. just stick the skin on the generic and let me go at it. That would work for me, really.

If they look unique in a game like this, where you are playing all sides at some point or other, then why NOT? There's practically no coding to do,
I guess we just have opposing views, then. I don't mind seeing people I can't play. I have no clue on how much time coding requires, but am fairly sure that lots of time has to be spent developing characters, finding the right voice actor for them and working out deals, designing how they play uniquely and so on. Just leaving them standing out, but without having to do most of that stuff seems okay.

@Rydain - sorry for not getting back, must have forgotten the discussion. Personally it'd be nice to have some justification for Sima Yi's distaste, as not making him too unlikable. There have been hints to this being the case for the game in I think Jin's introduction on the english websites.

You're right about Cao Ren looking more like a giant fighter. Their decision to drastically increase his size should also be questioned, in my opinion -- I'm gonna miss his short-but-powerful image.

Makes sense with what you said about Lu Meng's vision. I suppose it did coincide with his lord's vision, but though his Jing campaign was spectacular the decision to break an already fragile bond with their major ally is the only thing I think was his mistake.

Seraphil

Wow. I admit I never played DW6 in English, but that has to be one of the most wooden, worst performances by Beau Billingslea I've heard.
Yeah, the voice acting could have been a lot better, but I think it suits Cao Ren. Even as the commander for the kingdom's armies (which the english version notes: it calls him the "Grand General"), he remains the quiet, sincere man from before the wars reached their climax.

 Not these again. If you want Pang De, simply play DW5 :hmmm:
I don't own a PS2 anymore. Playing my DW5 disc would be quite a spectacular achievement without one.
I suspected *someone* was going to say that :hmmm: But I mean, let's get over it. I'm really hate coming to this thread; hearing the same people moan about 1 character out of 63, I mean really?
Moaning's fun. Espcecially if you know it's not going to help do anything other than irritate other people.

If we're not getting him back, I'd at least like KOEI to give some sort of reason for it.
If the complainers would hold their horses and be patient enough to *wait til the game comes out*, without a doubt that we'll find out why Pang De isn't playable. Same went for Lady Bu; it was way too early for people to complain without knowing the main goals of the characters.
Too early still, but it's still really questionable for some characters (bao) It confuses me as well as many others for some choices of characters, when I saw Lian Shi I was shocked, I thought it would be some nice looking motherfigure to whoever, btu infact it seems she's some ninja with fan service attachment. It doesn't match, is what I'm saying, since she's not supposed to be *jealous* and has a nice personality, those don't fit with this character. I liked Pang De (minus speed, horse mode he hax) but well, gotta get over it anyways. BUT who knows? We still have 30 or so characters left unrevealed, and maybe Pang De will find himself in there, there's ALWAYS HOPE! dlc is fine with me, if it's paid, better not be 2.99 a char lol. (unless it has some otehr stuff within the character pack)

And the most *reasonable* answer KOEI would probably give us is that they didn't have enough time. There really isn't a better reason to cut him, when you have a fictional character added :uh:

Bamboo totally Zhuge Liang'd that. Awesome post. What i find funny is this line "Saying that females/fictional characters are useless is completely based off of your *EGO* and *PERSONAL WANTS" But then he goes on to say "Hahaha. I do not care about Lu Bu. His persona could be easily replaced by this . . . . enunch, that you speak of" I know Lu Bu isnt a fictional character or a woman but thats kind of being a hypocrite. I guess if you put a "hahaha" in front of what you say THEN its ok to call a character useless.

I also agree with what nasser said earlier

"Okay this is getting outta hand, I know the mods have told a lot of us to go the complains thread to throw any rant there and keep this thread peaceful, but apparently some members used that as a shield, telling members who dislike any KOEI decision to flock off, we're here to EXPRESS ourselves, we don't HAVE to like everything KOEI does, so stop kissing up their asses with your posts >,>"

So yer, basically, 30 was quite out there... regardless of whether it was an estimate or not.

I don't see the reason why people are worrying about character reveals. Famitsu doesn't have rigid rules, they can reveal any number of characters in each publication. I just think we've got 2 big batches left.

I liked Gan Ning from DW6 (mainly because I haven't found DW5 yet)...I didn't mind that look, but I guess the hair kind of bothered me a little though, a little too Sun Jian in the hair (hair style) and I liked his weapon in 6 too...I felt those knives fit a pirate (especially a raiding pirate) better than a sword (I don't know I just think a sword is a little to heavy for that type of pirate).

I liked DW6 Cao Pi better than DW5 Cao Pi (I think this version is in DWO), but I would like to see that look updated to fit into DW7. I wished they combined Xiahou Dun's old and new outfit (I'm a fan of seeing his arms, but I don't mind the rest of the outfit's look) and his new hair (after seeing his DW7 hair I do feel that his DW6 hair seems kind of odd [the style and length]).

I just noticed that they went with Lu Bu's hairstyle on his DW6 concept art design.

Oh and on the JP main site, we can get a glimpse of the head of the character that is speculated to be Guan Suo. Erm...it looks like he has a cowboy hat with a DW5 Cao Pi hairstyle? Now i can be certain that its Guan Suo because I could never picture Guan Ping with a cowboy hat, plus he has like a light brownish hair color.

That's probably pang tong with his basket hat? Or a different picture?

Looking forward to seeing guan ping - I'm hoping he'll have his hair style from 5 back suited him better than dw6 IMO

"showing their fanservice" = lol.

I too hope for Cao Pi's DW5 weapon, but I have a feeling he'll just get the now very overused Dao sword... Gan Ning should have the daggers to differentiate him. I do wonder what Guan Suo will get, as the majority of new characters seem to be getting new weapon types...

Guan Suo was said to have a sleevelest vest. So he'll be one of those beefy guys wearing very little even though they're going to a giant battlefield. Weapon - charm and good looks.

Yay Guan Suo! Yay KOEI, I sacrifice a goat to your greatness.

Anyway, to the argument going on before, I think one of the major problems with this board is that 80% of the people here are completely blind KOEI lovers who can't rise up to say one negative thing about them. Truth be told, as much as I like playing their games, I sorta hate KOEI.
