Sorry to bring this up again (I was on page 459 and even skimming through people's post on here annoys me) Anyway so these 'cloned movesets you talk about'. Is it basically just like how Cao Cao, Sun Jian, Liu Bei were DW5 and Prior? That the attacks were similar for the first 3 hits but different after and also the charge and musou were completely different? Is that how some of the movesets will be like between characters in DW7? If it be true then what the hell you guys moaning about we've had this before... Especially DW5 Empires... 4 characters if you count the Generic ruler officer. (I liked playing as the generic officers... mainly because I could actually be Liao Hua.. and that how the generic officers look kinda stuck with how I imagine Liao Hua lol...)

If thats how the 'cloned movesets' will be then I don't mind... I don't tend to notice the attacks being similar seeing as the charge and musou make it different. In fact when thinking about it all the characters are clones then seeing as they all (Xbox controller) X-Y X-X-Y X-X-X-Y X-X-X-X-Y X-X-X-X-X-Y and the occasionally B and so on..
....No.
They have the same moveset with S-String attacks, and charges.
Only musuos and EX attacks are different.

:kurokan:
It's not yet confirmed.
Now I 'm really confuse about this problem

I swear someone has said that before. :kurokan:
I hope it isn't true, but I can could see it happen.
But it isn't the end of the world, like some people are making it.
There was also the mention of buying additional EX moves like you see how in some of the movesets and examples the EX move is in the middle of the moveset, I could see it as you progress you could get more EX moves by getting points or buying them. Just so weird otherwise to have those three bars if it's just one, which I have yet seen that it was confirmed they only have 1 EX attack, then again I could be wrong but it would make the most sense. Though I hope they bring a demo out to PSN and/or Live so we can really tell if there is strict clones or not.

But I just wish I could go back to the source :/ I do know for a fact you can buy other Musous.

Where did you see that you can buy several EX attacks for the characters? Nothing was said about it. It has definitely been confirmed long ago that there would be an EX attack by character, not several.

I feel that there are some who invents things, sometimes.

Basically, characters who share same style weapons, will have the same basic attacks and string attacks, BUT, their 'EX Attack' and 2 Musou's will be different, so nobody is a strict clone at all ^_^ .

EDIT: Also, if a Musou attack is used when another weapon is equipped (not their main), it will revert back to their original just for the Musou.

@dancingswan @ZhugeJebus: Yep, that flame spin attack she does in the trailer where she lands is her aerial musou.

@Tigris solis orientis: That's been posted a few times before, I believe Jsun posted it first a few days ago. Andreas-andi had also posted another. If you check there's also more articles linked to it detailing Jin's inclusion and Chronicle Mode from interviews with Akihiro Suzuki.

From today's experience at the game store, this is what I can collect.

- A lot of soldiers can appear on the same screen(similar to WOZ)
- Forts are available again.
- You can control crossbow platforms, you sit in front of it and aim at your targets.
- Power-ups have different effects now. After getting attack power-up, the weapon turns into an orange-yellow colour. After getting the speed power-up, your character will have trailing effects while running. Appears to apply to mounts as well.
-Every character will have two different Musou attacks, one on the ground, the other(special) one can be executed on either ground or air.
To activate the special ground musou, press R1 with the O button together. For the aerial one, press musou button while airborne.
Zhang Fei is an example for a special ground Musou attack. Wang Yuan Ji is an example for special air Musou attack.

Methods:
R1: Change weapons
R2: Zoom in map
L1: Guard
L2: Call horse
Musou1: on the ground
Musou2: Some use R1+O, some press musou button(I assume is O) when airborne.

Only Story Mode is playable in the demo.
Only Story Mode, Chronicle Mode, Gallery, Option and Tutorial is available at the selection screen.
NO FREE MODE seen.

Story Mode is composed of three chapters per faction. Each chapter contains 6-7 levels. Difficulties include天国(novice, I assume), Easy, Normal, Hard and Chaos. Shown below are the characters playable in each level(so far).

Shu
Zhang Fei (Battle of Xin Ye)
Zhao Yun (Battle of Chang Ban part 1)

Wei
Jia Xu (Battle of Tong gate)
Zhang Liao (He Fei Castle part 1)

Wu
Sun Ce (Battle of Liang Province)
Sun Shang Xiang (Battle of Shou Chun)

Jin
Zhuge Dan (Dong Xing part 1)
Wang Yuan Ji (Dong Xing part 2)
Sima Zhao (Attack of Sima Shi)

i think many of u guys miss that thing ^_^

Anyway the concept of buying EX attacks is just strange.
They should already have the EX attack already.

And as Fantaji said. 1 EX attack.

Sorry 'bout that Jsun  . It's just that I see people still discussing clones, it's quite frustrating, the facts are known now yet people are still confused  .

Here's something else, I'm sorry if this too has already been posted - http://gamrfeed.vgchartz.com/story/84049/tecmo-koei-doesnt-think-that-dynasty-warriors-gets-enough-credit/

Oh wow that's what I mean't I figured it would be some sort of EX attack since they said you'll unlock skills that vary to each officer, but aye if I'm wrong then I'm wrong, I'd careless. Though in that Sima Zhao gameplay video he starts out with his EX attack, you'd think [an] EX attack is unlockable  . Though like I said if I'm wrong, I'll get over it, one would hope I'm right for the sake of making sure your favorite character is unique.

Well yea I know that, but people are stating there is one and only one, I doubt if there was one EX attack you'd get it that easy right? If there are multiple then of course it wouldn't be very hard to get an EX attack.

@Fantaji:

"Characters will have special expertise in a certain weapon type, which will have an EX mark on it. When such weapons are equipped, they will be able to unleash unique EX attacks." http://koeiwarriors.co.uk/dw7-gameinfo.php

This is what made me think there were multiple EX attacks, and I got the purchase idea from the skills so I ended up combining known information by accident(I hope I referenced the quote right.)

No, not really. It said in general, because it speaks of all the characters and not one character in particular. That is why it is called "EX attacks", it refers to EX attacks of all characters. It has been confirmed that each character has one EX attack.

Oh ok cool then :D , hey you have the link to it just being 1 EX attack per character? So I can at least know were to look.

You can PM it if you'd like.

Wasn't it confirmed somewhere that each character will have the same moveset when the same weapon is attached?

I thought the only attacks that differed were the EX attacks and the Musou attacks (for which the character will use their default weapon even if it is not one of the two you have equipped)

I posted the above text on December 8th! - Knew people were getting their hopes up too high.

Not really too fussed though, as long as there is some variation between the characters I will be happy. Plus, I will not be using the same 1st weapon/2nd weapon combo for every character so it doesn't although it is not ideal I can live with it!

Having two unique musous per character, an extra unique combo step per character, unique elements per character (at least it looks like) (add in personalities/look/animations) and you have enough variety imo.

Think of it less like "this character is the same as mine" and think of it more as "my character's moves can be given to another character" considering a large portion of the weapon types are unique EX's to a single character. (Sword/Spear/Gauntlets/Throwing Daggers/Bow/Flail/Rapier/Strategist Fan are about the only ones that are between multiple characters, and that's out of like 37 weapon types) go in and mix the fact you can use any two weapons and things are fine.

WHY DON'T WE EVER GET COOL KOEI DEMOS?

I'M just saying I know it may be more popular else where but I think if more ppl could test run the game it would instantly have more fans.

You do have a good point home girl, because if it weren't for this forum I wouldn't know how good this game is, hell it's not even in game informer, but if it shows up in PSN/Live I'd download it to see if it has gotten worse or better. Though who knows, they might do everything equal for DW 7, they seem to be quite fair this time around with the websites I mean I don't think any one expected them to release English Va's turn certain screenshots nto english ones, make a english version of the PV but those are just VA's and what not. Also DLC is confirmed for everyone, no Japan Exclusives, unless you count it as temp exclusives. So best to wait.

If Koei would work with Gamestops and set up some proper stuff here in the states I think the game could get a much better following, but it really doesn't even get advertised here whatsoever =/

Throw a demo on Gamestop's 360/PS3 stations and see if it doesn't boost sales.

Yet if it were Strikeforce they would throw in a demo, but I know they are two different types but I tend to enjoy Dynasty Warriors more than Dynasty Warriors Strike Force. Though I can't remember if they did a demo for DW 6.

The funny thing is I'd figure Strike Force would turn less State-side anyway due to its exaggerated eastern themes that really don't make sense to the average westerner.

I remember the Strikeforce demo but I don't know why they only gave us a demo of that game. I would love to try a DW7 demo! I bet some new people would try it, like it, and buy it ultimately, so I don't see the harm!

To be honest, it's kind of hard to warrant a demo. I mean, you already have people passing judgement on a game that they haven't even play yet. So honestly, would a demo really serve for a better purpose? It's hard to say really....
