OT: I agree about Cao Pi being lacklustre in 6. His moveset was pathetic. He's a bloody emperor and they made him so pathetic! The whole ice thing in the PV just gives him a depth of power he didn't have before.

Woah! I gotta stop you right there.

That's the problem...Cao Pi HAD a depth of power like that before in DW5...his inherent element WAS ice and if I remember correctly one of his charge attacks sent out blue orbs that would freeze enemies on contact.....it was stripped away from him in "ROTK Hills 90210" aka DW6...lol

...same thing happened to Guan Ping....

It saddens me when people use a character's DW6 version as the standard to judge these new versions by....DW6 is the bastard child of the DW franchise to me...KOEI already admitted as much anyway...
When did I mention DW5? I was referring to 6. I know he was awesome in 5 :P

It seems 6 will be the black sheep of the DW series, with Koei trying to erase most of the stuff they did in it...

@Frayling0

yeah....exactly....I think DW6 was a test run..they tried alot of new things and many didn't work so they're doing what most game companies are doing these days.....

.....sticking to what works.....

...looking at you AC3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, Crysis 2, Infamous 2, MvC 3, etc. etc. lol

There's one thing I'm really liking about these PVs (Jin and Wei as of now). It's the remix of the "Ouverture" music! The rock version of these are awesome!

As for the PV itself, it's too bad that we don't see any new guys, but we're getting a better grasp on how the attacks work. And by seeing the actions like that, I'm not gonna complain if there are ever clones or anything.

Hey guys, The question i am about to ask might be SLIGHTLY off topic, but here goes, What did Wen Yang ever do?
This is quoted from another members signature..

Name: Wen Yang
Factions: Wei, Rebel, Wu, and later Jin.
Weapons: Whip of Steel & Spear
Weapon Style: Dual-Weilding
Accomplishments: Defeated 100 Wei Generals at once, dueled Deng Ai into a draw, participated in 2 Rebellions against the Wei, caused the death of Sima Shi and Zhuge Dan, was compared to Zhao Yun, made a fool out of a Zhuge 'and' a Sima, lived to see the fall of Shu, Wei, and Wu, and served Jin as a General for the rest of the era.

Admitted 6 wasn't overly enjoyable... but I thoroughly enjoyed DW6E. The only thing it really lacked was the overall control of, say, DW5E.

The addition of several rpg and 'choose your own story' elements as well as the best CAW system to date was pretty stand out.

And of course, Yue Yings smexy design... ;)

I agree about Yue Ying, loved her red hair and 6 appearance, her 7 look sucks BADLY (in my opinion, before I get flamed...)

To be fair, they've taken some elements of 6 and carried them forward. It seems the whole siege weapon thing is a natural evolution of the uncontrollable siege weapons in 6 and the way you could smash gates down yourself. Zhou Yu's Bo Staff has made the cross over too, I guess it's a good thing, because it stops him from being just another sword user.

KoeiGamer has uploaded the new music of both Wei's and Jin's as found in their kingdom trailers:

Dynasty Warriors 7 BGM - Jin Battle

Dynasty Warriors 7 BGM - Wei Battle

Man, this music is so, so awesome! So looking forward to the OST! I prefer Jin's and it's definitely one of my favourites. Once again Jin gets the special treatment of the choir to add the epic effect to the new kingdom.

Wei's is really cool and I really like it, it's very funky. :2up:

Cao pi didn't suck in DW6E that long sword was so damn awesome it should have been illegal, ok maybe not that awesome, but to me it was better than his dW5 weapon.

I will take the criticism from Frayling0.

I know Gan Ning, Diao Chan are the two major ones returning.
That makes 56 + the previously mentioned 2 = 58
So therefore there are still 3 to 13 characters remaining.
Can anyone think of any other "major" ones yet to surface? I cannot seem to think of anyone else?

Cheers

Rewatching the Wei PV made me think of this: I wonder if Jia Xu and Zhang He's other musous are crowd clearers. It would be nice to have one musou be focused on a single target for boss killing and another to be more for crowd control.

Edit: iRiDiUM the only remaining characters left to be officially revealed via Famitsu and the website are:
Huang Gai, Gan Ning
Xu Huang
Pang Tong, Wei Yan
Diao Chan

The final roster count will be 62.

The Longsword moveset was pretty beastly. But his character design itself was kinda 'meh' imo. And his characterization was more... 'spoiled brat' than 'badass emperor.'

I continue to hold out hope that Yue Yings Blade bow moveset returns as DLC some time in the future...Hands down my favorite moveset in the series... -narrowly- beating DW5 Cao Pi's Dual-Blade.

I didn't like the blade-bow move set myself, had a really bad range and felt very weak and restrictive. I would much rather she got the scythe, she had some pretty amazing crowd clearing charge attacks with that.

In my opinion, Cao Pi's move set from what little we saw in the PV, is going to be better than both 5 and 6E.

Ahh thank you for the reminder. That makes the total number about right.

Who knows, they may chuck in a few oldies, like Pang De or Zuo Ci.
Personally I would love for Zuo Ci to make a return.

There's also Huang Gai, Xu Huang, Wei Yan and Pang Tong to a total of 61 characters on the game. Koei told the truth : there's over 60 characters in the game : 61...
Nevermind, someone answered before me

The battle themes sound absolutely great :D
i love the choir in Jin's theme, wish Wei's had one too.
On the topic of Gan Ning, i know the image is very blurry, but from what i can make out, he looks sweet :)

Weak? WEAK?! I -was- going to go to bed.... but I can't let that remark pass :P

Most of the lower parts of her basic attack string didn't have much range, true, but that was easily fixed with Phantom Hand. But DAMN if the max renbu, highest part of her attacks (where she spins and shoots) wasn't one of the strongest attacks out there. Took down a max Lu Bu in one repetition of the basic string

Anyways, back OT,
someone mentioned the idea that you'd have one musou be a crowd pleaser and the other good for single soldier take out... Good idea, in theory. I don't see it working so well in practice though. Some characters just don't suit a single target musou...*cough* Zhang Fei *cough*

Wei's PV PWNS!!

Jin's battle music PWNS!!

Zhen Ji's moveset PWNS!! - kicks, I like!

Zhang Liao's moveset!! :O He is going to be a beast!!

Happy to see Zhang He's musou isn't the one where he madly runs around cutting people, I found it quite hard to control. If the one shown in his PV is his aerial musou/alt ground musou I will be spamming it a lot lol

Still loving the whole smooth transition from gameplay to battles, looks amazing!

Point taken about the power she gained with Phantom Hand - BUT, she required a lot of time and effort to make that move set useful. I found other characters much more readily accessible.

I agree about the Musou thing though... great idea, but several weapons wouldn't suit it at all.

Has there been any word on if the DW1 outfits will be made for the whole cast or just the ones announced?
-So far we have seen DW1 outfits for Zhao Yun, Xiahou Dun, Taishi Ci, Diao Chan and Lu Bu.
- Besides them DW1 also had Cao Cao, Dian Wei, Xu Zhu, Zhuge Liang, Zhang Fei, Guan Yu, Zhou Yu, Lu Xun, and Sun Shang Xiang.
