So they are reusing old maps? Oh dear.
Not bad at all for me, DW6 had fantastic map design.

Even if they recycle some maps of DW6/S, some will still be redone, like the YTR map.

The Bao Sanniang stage is Wu Territory (DW6:S map)
Oh, yes. Now i remember it from DW6:E.
I know, that Koei have assumed/transported the new adds from DW6:Special to DW6:E.
Are there adds, which were not in E? Maybe stages? Or if there was one, other CAW-models?

I'm a bit disappointed that there was no Ma Dai gameplay or Deng Ai. :hehe:
Actually they show a few of his (Deng Ai's) moves in 01:38 - 01:44 with Xiahou Dun.

I am happy a Chinese language version will release in early April, not too far from the Jpn release date, yipeeeeee!
As in having Chinese voice option? That would be awesome.

Would anyone ever like to see a more serious looking version of DW? Using character models more akin to their ROTK versions for example? Less OTT, more dramatic?

Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

... like Cao Cao, Cao Ren and Xiahou Dun here for example?
I wouldn't want to see full period costume accuracy in a Dynasty Warriors game, but I sorely miss the strong Chinese influence in the older games' designs. I got into the series because it felt like playing through a larger than life version of ancient legend. I'm sure the beat 'em up action will still be fun, but the overall feel of the gameverse just isn't the same.

My ideal costumes for a more serious Dynasty Warriors game would be similar to ROTK Online. They have obvious DW-inspired design liberties while maintaining a more toned down, historical feel.

As to Cao Ren, his original DW face model is just about perfect.

I like those portraits, but I like them for ROTK. I don't think they would suit DW, which has always had a more "modern-style" approach to character design, in line with its flashy-action-game essence.

That said, I would be so(oooo) happy if DW models got back to something more "ancient Chinese"-influenced, like they were especially pre-DW6 (and DW6 to some extent).

By the way, I found some resemblance between Cao Ren's portrait in ROTK X and his DW counterpart, probably something in the eyes (those eyes that I liked so much in DW4 and 5).

That reminds me how much I want Zhuge Liang to have this hat (maybe a little bit more fancy), simply because Zhuge Liang in the new Three Kingdoms TV series wore that too. :sly:

That or his DW5 hat/headgear. His DW6 strategist hat would be alright too without those strings and ribbons or whatever those things were. As for overall look (outfit etc), something similar to his DW5 would be cool.

I thought it's something like Japanese voice option with Chinese subtitles?

Good choice of design. I do miss Kongming's Chef Hat of Strategic Wizardry.

As long as we're discussing ideal character costumes, I may as well post this one I recently drew for Cao Ren.

Oh no. Looks like Jin Yang wasn't the only one recycled from DW6... I just hope there won't be anymore than those two.

But anyway, the PV was quite good. I am really liking Guo Huai now (the hand cannon thing is cool). And it's good to know they kept at least some attacks from DW6, but don't have clones!

The new weapons are all looking like being great fun moveset wise... except mayne the cannon arm, didnt see a mass of variety in the PV but we will see how it goes to actually play when the game comes out or we see more of it.

That bladed Yoyo looks more like an axe head on a chain than a yoyo but hey its all good, hoping what theyve seen confirms how little a chance there is now of clones as there was a lot of doubters.

Biggest heartbreak was someone said Xun Wenrou was a generic which is devastating... i mean with Yu Jin and Yue Jin already generic confirmed as well we are getting a very small pool left for new Wei additions that wont be pinched by Sima Yi for his Jin superforce.

Final note is the Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun move that switched one playable to another was stand up and punch the air shouting "YEAH" stuff. Awesome, cant wait for the game now

I would also like to nitpick and say they messed up the order of Chang Ban. Zhao Yun found Lady Mi, rescued Liu Chan, epicly owned all of Wei, rode across the bridge, AND THEN Zhang Fei took over.

On top of that, there was no battle. Wei's army approached the bridge and Zhang Fei just stood there and shouted at them, then Cao Cao ran away in fear. He actually messed up. He destroyed the bridge, which led Cao Cao to believe they were weak and feared him. If he left the bridge, they'd have to go around, as Cao Cao would believe Zhuge Liang had the bridge trapped and set for ambush.

Though I'm sure Chang Ban will be one of my favorite levels. Hopefully the Zhang Fei part will be awesome. Hundreds of soldiers coming into a closed space against a monster warrior = pure fun for the whole family.

Also, when Jia Xu was revealed I figured it was 100% clear Xun Yu wouldn't be.

WOW the PV is amazing looking forward to it's release and March isn't that far away February only has 28 days this year.

@Seraphil that link of Wang Yuan Ji You Dirty Dirty Boy! LOL that was really funny :XD

Oh and you can see Bao Sanniang in the Chang Ban cutscene if you pause it at 1:54 but its weird coz when the camera switches round she's not there and Zhang Fei is standing in her place.

I think Bao Sanniang is much more on the side, this may be why we did not see more.

Or perhaps come DW8 they'll realize she was the worst decision they ever made and cut her from the list of characters and replace her with literally anybody. I wouldn't mind if they made Wen Yang a female Shu character over her.

Seems the movesets that were in Dw6 are being used but now with added charge attacks... ^_^ , our little Koei is growing up... However I’m interested in what the movesets are for the Dw5 weapons  ... Not to mention they still haven’t showed any jump musou attacks yet... Darn

Also, where the frick is Gan Ning and Zhuge Liang! .... Ahhhhh the waiting is terrible..

As for that Lu Lingqi, Seeing as the PV showed nothing to do with Lu Bu (apart from the theme) and no new characters, and Kamek has not replied... And due to how impossible it would of been for him to know anything like that, I’m announcing that its utter crap... so dont worry aboutt it ^_^

Cmooooon Gan Ning!
