I like Wei because they do what they want. Cao Cao doesn't pander to the people like Liu Bei does. He just does what he think the land needs. People consider him a little extreme that doesn't make him evil

Shu are just too goody too shoes for my liking Wu too family oriented. Plus they are bad ass and Having two beauties like Cai Wen Ji and Zhen Ji helps. Wei Rules!!!

I've never seen Wei portrayed as bad guys in Koei's games.

They are more or less the anti-heroes. Which is awesome. Hope they never lose that angle.

Koei generally tends to portray them as tyrants it seems. Which has lessened in later games.

I hope the attitude of Wei never changes either. But Xiahou Dun kinda looks like an evil villain in this with his purple leather coat/leather suit and eyepatch/giant sword.
Ya, I kinda felt Wei was more on a the cruelty/betrayel/hate side, good thing it shifted overall, since so many wei chars are a bit on the darkish side (low speech)

Favourite Kingdom, well I like them all in general, since they all got their goods and bads, favourite gotta be Sun Ce! Tonfas all the way, then maybe Zhou Tao after because he Katana looks awesome! (although i did not like it too much in DW5, it felt a bit weird)

Gotta think purple/dark colours = evil :shifty:

Actually, I could probably write an essay about how every character in DW portends to an anime cliche or trend. It goes hand-in-hand with Japanese culture itself.

I've always been a Wei guy, but there are of course characters I really like from Shu and Wu as well.
Hell, the designs in 2 and 3 are VERY anime inspired I'd say....prolly why we haven't seen these designs in the newer games.

I've always felt that it was Sima Yi who added that slightly villainous slant to Wei, everyone else, for the most part, were fine (yeah, some had anti-hero qualities to them as well)

I hope Xu Zhu sits on people during his musou. Or atleasts eats em or something.
Yea Sima Yi gave me that vibe for Wei and Chang Ban level as well. Also Cao Cao looking like Nobunaga Oda I might of misspelled his name but they look like IMO and ODA seemed really evil. Cao Cao favors Oda from Onimusha as well.

:ot: But I still wonder is Onimusha related to Samurai Warriors in any way?

Oda Nobunaga is a commonly used figure to portray as a demon king in a lot of Japanese fiction from my understanding. So no, no connection to Samurai Warriors other than both having their own stylized version of Nobunaga.

I saw the trailer for the WU and was shocked Da Qiao was featured haha but why does she fight like a child it seems she was given Xiao Qiao's moveset well haha its ok for Xiao not sure if it fits Da I thought that she would have had more a mature moveset from her counterpart but I liked it regardless and anybody else noticed that Ling Tong's Musou looks like Guile's ultra move from SFIV (at least to me it did haha)

lol wei are deafently not tyrants. they just have a different view of justice making them anti heroes. and dun is probally dressed evily because he was historicly a jerk
Basically you say that because of DW6 which reveal a lot of the ideas of the rulers but before that Cao Cao was portrait as the guy who only cared about talented people.

Before DW6 I was not even sure what Wu wanted, Liu Bei restore the Han, and Cao Cao for this talented officers.

Look at this details about Cao Cao in past games:

the one who makes the the emperador step down to become king,
been compered to Dong Zhuo said to be a traiter to the Han.
Attack inocent people (Chang Ban) to try to kill a posible enemy
allying with the enemy (Fan Castle) just to kill a treat and become enemies after that.
Mostly the one who battles both Wu and Shu the most, will many fights between them.

now tell me he is not portrait as evil?

Koei wont.

In Dynasty Warriors Cao Pi only has one wife.

As for my comment... I meant she looked like a Pampered Concubine(Though how she was treated I wouldn't consider her a wife. At least Cao Rui got his revenge after he got the throne). I really don't see why any wife would need to dress in such a manner. She already have the man. Well, at least for Dynasty Warriors where she's portrayed as in love with Cao Pi and his only loving wife. Thus tradegy avoided!

Wei only seem to be the bad guys because of the rosy eyed view they portray Shu as doing no wrong at all, and since Shu always conflict with Wei, so rightly people would but 2 and 2 together and make generalisations of them resembling good and evil

The only people who truly appear as villains in Wei (in my eyes.) are Cao Cao and Cao Pi.
And it's really only because they have that constant scowl on there face....
They just look like they want to kick kittens, and destroy happiness. :kurokan:

I always figure that Cao Pi and Sima Yi at the head looked a tad sinister it seemed. That may just be me though lol

Don't get me wrong I don't think they are evil, like a say Wei is my favorite kingdom, but Koei has portait them as Evil

Now, I wander if Jin would be portrait as Evil this time around(I doubt it with Sima Zhao in their side? -_-

I didn't include Sima Yi since he is part of Jin now. But he is really the only "evil" guy I would say is in Jin.

Koei could still keep the T rating using a blood sprite like that in Uncharted 2 or Tomb Raider Underworld, and xiahou dun can still rip out the arrow, not eat it, have his hands covered in a bit of blood, and he can wrap up his bloody face, it shouldn't be too much of a big deal,

Well this week has been rather pleasant i've never known KOEI to be so generous with their updates but now it's coming to an end with the final batch and possible final trailer coming out next week there won't be much to come back to apart from spoilers.

Which is why i'll be on board the "no spoilers for me" ship if a demo came out that would be great but i suppose TECMO KOEI outside of Japan are probably focusing on localisation and final polish ups of the game over a demo.

Blood HAS been in DW before. In DW3, theres a cutscene of Lu Xun (LOU JOON) having an archer shoot at Sima Yi, who nicks his face and blood drips down while Sima Yi rambles...

Sima Yi was rambling because he didn't know what the strange red stuff coming out of him was.

I think we can do without the blood, though. There'd certainly be a lot of it, and I doubt Australia would see the game if fountains of blood were everywhere (I can see Koei going for overkill here if blood was in at all), since we seem to be stricter than other pleces with what's allowed into the country.

Just 'cause Mortal Kombat was banned over there, it doesn't mean depictions of bleeding are banned in Australia...right?

Well, if you want blood I'm sure that Troy wont disapoint. Though I wonder... If they added in blood and gore to DW it might end up scareing fans away.

Oh please, as if I need to bore you all with my reasoning for why Wu's my favorite kingdom.

But I do like the other kingdoms, even those Wei-officer-stealers from Jin. Each kingdom has characters I like or don't like, and while Shu is at the bottom of my like list, at least that kingdom has the likes of Wei Yan, Huang Zhong, Yue Ying and Ma Dai to guarantee my interest.

So while my love my name my equal to all three kingdoms, I do like them all at some point or another.

No, bleeding depictions overall aren't banned here, but if DW7 ended up with blood in it, it would be a lot. More than most games. I'd really fear for the game's release in Australia if it did happen.

Sorry, not trying to get off topic here. And I'm not really a fan of the whole blood shower thing myself.
