I've always felt that it was Sima Yi who added that slightly villainous slant to Wei, everyone else, for the most part, were fine (yeah, some had anti-hero qualities to them as well)

:ot: But I still wonder is Onimusha related to Samurai Warriors in any way?

Onimusha IS very much related to Samurai Warriors. The main characters of Onimusha 1,3 (Akechi Hidemitsu) and Onimusha 4 (Tokugawa/Yuki Hideyasu) are present in Samurai Warriors as generics. lol.

And the bad guys are Nobunaga, Hideyoshi, and Yodogimi/Cha Cha (Oichi and Nagamasa's eldest daugther).

You get to use Ohatsu (who wields a shotgun if I remember.) She's the 2nd daughter of Oichi and Nagamasa.

I love all the kingdoms. There are those I'm not a big fan of like Xu Chu, Zhange Fei, or lu xun but i can deal with them. Gan Ning will always be my favorite character along with ma chao(who might be replaced by ma dai) and xiahou dun. For jin, I might like Sima Shi and like xiahou ba's moveset and not the character himself.

Sima Yi was rambling because he didn't know what the strange red stuff coming out of him was.

I think we can do without the blood, though. There'd certainly be a lot of it, and I doubt Australia would see the game if fountains of blood were everywhere (I can see Koei going for overkill here if blood was in at all), since we seem to be stricter than other pleces with what's allowed into the country.
Just 'cause Mortal Kombat was banned over there, it doesn't mean depictions of bleeding are banned in Australia...right?
No, bleeding depictions overall aren't banned here, but if DW7 ended up with blood in it, it would be a lot. More than most games. I'd really fear for the game's release in Australia if it did happen.

Sorry, not trying to get off topic here. And I'm not really a fan of the whole blood shower thing myself.
:ot: and :spam:
well, at least he is rambling on about the blood....that is a better skit...or line than from Resident Evil for Playstation...
Jill: Barry what is it?
Barry: Its Blood!!
JILL DON'T OPEN THAT DOOR!!

i prefer that rambling

Blood would ruin DW for me.
I don't particularly want to see Xiao Qiao or any other character really drenched in blood, if I wanted that I'd play Madworld.

DW would seriously be spoiled for me, it's always been flashy and beautiful, it still has that really subtle fantasy feel that could easily be lost.
If DW8 or any other DW/SW/WO title had blood, I'd probably be put off from buying it >.<

Blood is needed! For cutscenes, it will add more tragism. Ofcourse I`m not meaning crimson rivers and bloody massacre... this will be excessive. Blood in battles... no I guess it will decrease game`s popularity among children.

Actually, blood in cutscenes I wouldn't be unhappy with, as long as it isn't overkill. To me the character death scenes are very important and I hope they're done well in 7.

Blood in gameplay however wouldn't sit well with me.

The only people who truly appear as villains in Wei (in my eyes.) are Cao Cao and Cao Pi.
And it's really only because they have that constant scowl on there face....
They just look like they want to kick kittens, and destroy happiness. :kurokan:
I always figure that Cao Pi and Sima Yi at the head looked a tad sinister it seemed. That may just be me though lol
I didn't include Sima Yi since he is part of Jin now. But he is really the only "evil" guy I would say is in Jin.
I dont think Sima Yi is evil, like any dynasty weak rulers get usurped. Only character id really call evil is Lu Bu and Dong Zhou who only cared for power, wealth and women. As for Lu Bu, he was a warrior who lost himself in his own ability, despite the fact he was killed off for his constant betrayals. You could say he was the only character whos intentions couldn't be called power hungry with the way Koei portrays him. His actions strike me as a man who had a death wish more then one hungry for power.

my favorite has always been Wei, I love nearly every character in their kingdom plus they had the most success overall of the three kingdoms. Wu is my second favorite and are pretty awesome. Shu is ok but I hate all their false talk of virtue plus they easily have some of the most terrible characters(Guan Ping, Guan Suo, Bao Sanniang, Xing Cai, Liu Shan). The only character I think is evil is Dong Zhuo. Sima Yi is devious but not evil.

In cutscenes it's totally understandable, I think ti could add so much more drama ^^
I just don't particularly want tons of it during gameplay..
But it would be awesome for certain deaths, if it was done well anyway :')

blood in cutscenes wouldn't hurt, as long as it's not over done, there are plenty of T games that have pulled off a bit of blood [Uncharted, Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness, ext]

yes T stands for teen. and I think blood in cutscenes would be helpful but I don't want it in the gameplay.

I think that's why people who want blood would be better off playing Warriors: Legends of Troy. Now that's a bloodbath.

Blood in cutscenes or gameplay would be fine with me but i know a lot of parents who let their kids play this game because there is no blood. I've managed to get all my cousins into Dynasty Warriors in the past 4 years. (one of my cousins has had my DW5: XL disc for 4 years now!!!) My youngest cousin who is 7 and his friend who is 7 as well both play DW and their parents find it ok because its fun and there is not much violence at all. If there was more blood and gore then it would take away that under 15 audience. I mean i played DW2 at like 8.

My 2 favorite kingdoms are Wei and Wu. I just prefer them over Shu. When I get the game I'll start with them first...and do Shu last.

Wei favorite characters: Xiahou Dun, Cao Pi, Sima Yi (I know in DW7 he's in Jin), Zhang Liao, and Zhen Ji (WO2 is a good way to test her out with the flute)

Wu fave characters: Lu Meng, Zhou Yu, Xiao Qiao, SSX (chakrams, though I don't mind the bow)

I don't think blood is needed in the actual gameplay, adding it will look forced but maybe not out of place. You kind of expect everyone to bleed with the way we play DW. But theres no blood and I think it's for the better. I mean theres literally thousands of soldiers to kill and if they all bled then well things could get a little messy.

This.
Except for the most sadistic people, no one wants to see characters like Diao Chan, Cai Wenji, or SSX in a pool of blood.

I know this is dumb but does this mean that the lengthy charge attack 3 (#2 if you dont count triangle alone) will now fade away those really helped when i needed to make an officer dizzy still I won't mind if they're gone... its been awhile but if I recall correctly DW3 didnt have many characters with lengthy C3's though I think I am mistaken

@dancingswan of course I would hate to see my fav characters soaked in blood dead but I would love to see them at least bleed I mean it would make them even more human (even if they are just game characters) :shifty: still I think that would be cool if someone was shot with an arrow it would be nice if they bleed a lil bit.

Its currently unknown if charge rush (the cw3s that hit multiple times and dizzed) are returning. These moves debuted in DW4. I'm honestly hoping that movesets don't have the same c2 knock up, c3 rush, c4 blow back, c5 knock high etc structure across the board.

Aw, I really liked those attacks (Wei Yan, Zhang Fei, Huang Gai and Cao Cao in particular). I'm pretty sure those weren't in DW3 at all, though.

I hope they're back in, but I haven't been watching the videos that have come out. What makes you think they may no longer be available?

EDIT: Whoops, too late. Thanks Necrosis.

For me, Wei is my favorite kingdom, it just has more variety in character.

For Shu, Cao Ren from Dw5 sums it up, "They just keep rambling on about virtue, i don't think i can put up with it for much longer". That and i hate how ROTK are biased towards Shu.

And as for the little pyromaniacs at Wu, all i hear is blah blah blah Sun family, blah blah Fire attack. Although i admit, they're not as bad as Shu.

Blood has been in cutscenes before. I think it was DW5 that had it in the CHang Ban cutscene when Zhao Yun rescues Liu Bei at the end and slices through a bunch of guys. Only a few splats but it was there

In the videos the C3 of both the Dao move set and the spear were shown and they were both multi-slash charges similar to wha they were pre-DW6, so they definitely could be in still. Though, I think they may only need one triangle press instead of many judging from the move set list.
