To princefan1, additonal ones besides Sima Yan and Wen Yang were Du Yu, the man who conquered Wu and united china or Jia Chong who became a regicide and opposed the wu campaign adamantly but became the overall commander. Just to point them out. I wouldn't believe that there would be a serect character but it could happen. |

Yeah, Jin is missing a lot of essential adds. Even than, it's really hard to complete the Jin story without... Du Yu, Jia Chong, Sima Yan, Wen Yang, and Yang Hu. They all played an important part that helped shape the Jin Dynasty. Du Yu was the Conquerer of Wu and pushed hard for an invasion immediatly instead of waiting for Wu to get a Competent Ruler. Was a learned man and had served for many years which he proved his worth constantly. Despite this he was shown late in the Novel despite his years of service. Jia Chong was a heavily influencial Politician/Strategist and was greatly beloved by Sima Yan. He opposed the quick strike against Wu(He wanted to wait a year) but was overruled. At first he desired to protest more but than Sima Yan said he would lead from the front should Jia Chong not take command. Due to his loyalty to the Sima Family he took Command since he didn't desire to see Sima Yan come to harm. Sima Yan was the First Emperor of Jin and united the land. Somewhat of a flawed character who was overtolerant to the behaviors of others and placed a disabled heir upon the throne. Needless to say, he was very important to the era since he was the one who put an end to this chapter. Wen Yang is credited as being the next Zhao Yun and was a famous Warrior. He served in multiple Rebellions and Kingdoms. His greatest feat was when he slew hundreds of Jin Generals at once when he was only 18 and his actions caused the death of Sima Shi who was already weak from his surgery and news of the rebellion he felt oblidged to put down. Later Sima Zhao forgave him, by Zhong Hui's council, and made a General of Jin. His defection, which Zhuge Dan caused by killing his father, ended up sapping the remaining morale and will from Zhuge Dan's forces. Yang Hu was a reknowned and well respected General. Like Zhang Liao before him his mere presence doomed any Wu advances. Simply put they couldn't dislodge such a skilled General. Though he appeared late, despite many years of service, and was a good friend to rival Wu General Lu Kang(The Last Great Wu General). Upon his deathbed he suggested that Du Yu be in charge of the Campaign against Wu. This helped Du Yu's case to strike swiftly against Wu since Yang Hu was deeply respected throughout Jin. But why have actual Jin officers when you can have peeps who had some abstract hand or foot in the FOUNDATION of Jin? After all, this is a brand-spankin' new kingdom so they got to work on the origins story of it first, and leave more of the ACTUAL Jin additions for the inevitable DW8! Can't make a game perfect- otherwise you won't get your fans to buy a sequel later on down the road. (Still, one legit Jin officer would have been nice?) |

We could also throw in Yang Hu, who I personally like. The only problem is he didn't live long enough to have a lengthy story. They could also add Wang Jun, who contributed greatly to Jin's conquest of Wu. Or perhaps Wang Rong, one of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove (竹林七賢) that served Jin. Other than that, if Koei wants to make everyone happy they could add Zhang Chunhua as a DLC later, that way everyone male or female can be happy. =P |

Thanks! I would hope for Sima Yan for Jin if koei does indeed add a secret character. I also agree that Zhang Chunhua would be a great (possibly funny?) add. Im excited too see a scan of Wei Yan. I hope he has his mask back (the screens make it look like he does but IDK lol) Edited by Princefan1, Mon Feb 28, 2011 6:27 am.

Xiahou Ba didn't lift a finger to establish Jin. Hell, Sima Yi didn't even bother either since he was content ruling through the shadows instead of in the light. Not to mention that the Jin Dynasty was formed by Sima Yan and neither Sima Shi nor Sima Zhao had the balls to truely end Wei and start their own Dynasty. After all, like father like son. Though I suppose you could argue they laid the foundation for Sima Yan but so did Wen Yang ho insured that Sima Yan would get the throne since Sima Shi had no heirs. Guo Huai was a loyal Wei General thus his inclusion was somewhat confusing since he would never support the foundation of the Jin Dynasty. Deng Ai on the other hand might and maybe Zhong Hui as well. Finally, Zhuge Dan outright rebelled against Jin and was firmly loyal to the Cao Family untill the bitter end. His inlusion as a Jin General baffles me due to his actions that contradict being a Jin General. What with being a rebel and all. |

Hurray for HD! Thank you for posting these. Now I can see that the Lu Xun-Lu Meng scene could very well be... Lu Meng's death scene. As it looks like he's in a laid/sitting back position and Lu Xun is holding him up. *sigh* As if the whole cry to the heavens in the rain wasn't done to death in the LAST game. Whatever. I'll re-direct my petty rage over to HD Bao NekoNeko stance now. |

Yang Hu lived a good and long life. It's just that the Novel made him appear near the end of his life and omitted much of his years of service. It's a pity since he was pretty interesting for the short time he appeared. Though it's understandable. The Novel was heavily Shu-Bias thus many Great Generals that didn't mess with Shu weren't really given the credit that they deserved. |

The only way i see Zhuge Dan contributing to jin is that making stronger through his rebellion agianst the simas. A weird way you could say. With his dead, the majority of cao loyalists were either dead or too few to stem the tide of growing power for the simas. |

I've watched it twice, but I wouldn't mind watching it a few more. Maybe I am being overly paranoid, so I'll probably wait and see the cut scene in context. It just looked like he was leaning back in a sitting position as the camera panned out. Either way, we -all- know he's going to die. Just hoping the circumstances would be a little different. I don't think I can stand another character dying in the rain, in someone's arms, as their comrade screams to the heavens. Even outside of DW6, that is so cliche, and hardly dramatic anymore. |

Yang Hu died in his 50s, I wouldn't say that's a good long life but a decent life. He didn't really do much as an official nor was he in command of any troops as a general until Sima Yan establish Jin. In 265 A.D. was when he became an important figure when Sima Yan made him a commanding general to station in Xiangyang against Lu Kang. He died even before Wu was conquered by Jin. That's probably the only reason why Koei might not add him since he died early unless they make up some kind of story to make it go with the flow of the game. ------ Bao Sanniang looks really cute in high quality.

Just bear in mind that even if there is one final character, and it turns out to be one you really want (Wen Yang, Zhu Ran, Liao Hua seem to be the popular ones)... Just look at Zhang He or Wei Yan or Xu Zhu. You might get a portrayal that you are... unhappy with. Maybe it's best if some people are left alone. |
