My Favourite batch I have to say...

Xu Huang - Amazing, going back old school style, love the blue, I didn't see it in the First trailer but now I do i'm glad hes not plain white.

Pang Tong - Great...It's an awesome look, all I can say

Gan Ning - Awesome again, hair's different but I love different so yeah love it, its not the same thing over and over again.

Wei Yan - Love it, looks mean ass

Diao Chan - Hot and kickass :D

Huang Gai - Hot pants is a bit weird but I'm glad it reverts to his DW3 style look with a mix of DW6 hairstyle

Great batch and what a way to end the reveals

Silly people stating it as Halberd instead of Pike then :hehe: . I guess that's even funnier :XD , alllll my favorites (bar Zhang Fei) are the same, man, Fan Castle is gonna be a right bore, the same moveset for each Kingdom in the same stage (if Fan Castle is these character's stages that is, which'll be highly likely).

characters have 1 personal attack and their other Musou attack depends on the weapon they are using.

uh oh this is a serious discussion and observation people found! :OMG:

Look at the mini-map in the top right corner of the screen. Instead of the old good DW's, the enemies are not lined up from the commander to the front lines. Instead they have liked "clumps" of enemies that don't advance at all; it's not a fluid battle it's just a boring step by step progression.

It does kinda scare me though (the minimap thing). DW battles always had different outcomes cause the AI was moving around battling each other. If they just stay put while you come running alone it will be the same as SB. And SB stages get boring fast because of that.

Is this true!?!?!!!?!?!! :OMG:

Or is that just a demo thing that will be fixed and there will be the proper a.i. advances on the battlefield for different possible outcomes and situations on the battlefield? :OMG:

Koei did say that others would get more attention in chronicle mode due to kingdom mode being for the big 3. I wonder if they will give them more what ifs than the others to make up for it. It would really be nice if they did so.

I didn't realise that! They better not just stand there like lemons, I want the AI to actually go around and fight others like DW6 :(

Hopefully it'll be sorted for the release.

I was watching one enemy clump throughout the video, they move from Wei's side and west towards Shu's main camp.

And musous are not based on weapon they are using. They get Two Musous period (either One ground clear and one air, or one ground clear and one grab)

When you use it the animation will show you using whatever weapon type their EX is.

The enemies don't just stand around.. if you watch half the gameplay videos that are full battles they shift and move. A few videos of Conquest Mode missions had them standing around a little but if they want step by step story on a Legend mission they're going to have to stand around a little.

Hell anyone who's played 6 Empires knows this first hand, the bandits and such just stand there usually and don't pursue new targets really.

Please stop trying to start drama and arguments, its not a serious observation if it only happens in one video and only to a point =/ go watch more of them before you start screaming "OMG ENEMIES DONT MOVE!" you could get some fools to actually believe you.

Wait so if someone has a Whip Musou, and they are holding a sword, then they would swing the sword around as if they were using a whip?

Like take for example Zhao Yun, take for example if he can equip a Fan instead of Spear, would his Air and Ground Musou still be the same?

So I guess they no longer have weapon based musous? But I'm sure I seen some slashy washy musous.

Ahh yeah you have a point there I can see the difference now. It makes it more fun when you have to go around and save others/stop the enemy from escaping etc. More realism if the AI are fighting each other too.

Or in DW6's case, you having to save Lu Bu all the time xD

They aren’t even pikes... They simply share the same moveset yet being very different from each other.. I would rather call them Polearms while Lu Bu's weapon is a Halberd type weapon. Xu Huang Is a poleaxe, Guan Yu's weapon is a traditional bladed Polearm weapon.. While Lu Meng's weapon is a glaive, another type of Polearm... A pike is NOT a polearm but is a type of spear while the spear is a type of polearm, it has a pointed end, which these 3 weapons do not (but Lu Mengs in a different style)

So they are not Pike's... They are Polearms. (Can we not confuse the fact that a halberd is infact a polearm aswell, In my opinion they all shouldnt have the same moveset, they are all very different types of polearms)

There have never been weapon based musous.

Let's say you are using Greatsword and Fan on Zhao Yun, you use any of his Musous and he'll pull out a spear for just the animation then put it up and swap to whatever weapon you had due to the fact having to animate them for each weapon type and each character would be an exuberant amount of work for such minor gain.

Well when I first read about it and checked some of it, some arguments seemed like they were true, that's why I shared that here to see whether or not more informed people know if it's true or not.

Well it's good to know the a.i. forces still move on their own on the battlefield instead of always staying in one place. :)

haven't played 6 or Empires.

Anyways don't let the confusion bother you,

at least this is DW7 related discussion instead of "Why the **** does UK get more DW love? UK this and that." rants going on here.

And they're officially called Pikes Joei. Its been confirmed in a few sources =P

Lu Meng/Guan Yu/Xu Huang's Weapon Type is a Pike
Lu Bu's is a Halberd

Even though technically Guan Yu's is a poleblade, Xu Huang's is a poleaxe, and Lu Meng's is a glaive, they're all being grouped under Pikes. (Although technically the usage is incorrect, as Pikes weren't around till 17th century Europeans used them as anticavalry weapons)

Calm down Joe, no need to be so aggressive. I know they're not 'Pikes', but because Lu Meng was the first to be revealed with that moveset and put under the name of 'Pike' on the main information, it would make sense to put Xu Huang and Guan Yu under the same type if they're moving the same way. If you want specifics, why don't they call Guan Yu's weapon 'Blue Dragon'.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for this game and can't wait to get my hands on it, but I think that Koei kind of half-assed the "equip any weapon!" system. It looks like they had a great idea and just didn't think/follow it through. Oh well, as long as it's better than DW6 I'll be happy. I'm still sitting here playing WO2 -___-

Its just like how technically Jiang Wei uses a Trident not a Spear and Ma Chao uses a Bident but they are all grouped under the Spear type of weapon.

Not exactly sure how you could get aggression out of my post, i wasn’t trying to come off that way...

However in recent games the official names of the weapon's have been ladled in their names given .. And both the Trident and the Bident is still a type of Spear and should be labelled as such while a Pike is not a group of weapon’s as its under the category of Polearm... To say that the incorrect term for a weapon is now the official category for these weapons just because we labelled Lu Mengs weapon as pike incorrectly is absurd..

A Glaive = Lu Meng is a polearm, not a pike
A Pike is a polarm.

Is there any way we change this "official" term
