Are the musous unique to each character like the ex attacks or are musous just unique to weapon catagories (sorry to bring this up, im not complaining though. I just want to clarify).
As clarified a couple pages back, there are two musous per character.

Each character either has:

A Ground Musou and an Air Musou

or

A Ground Musou and a Special Ground Musou (usually a grab)

They are NOT weapon based.

Thanks! :)

Well yes it seems like their Musou is based on their own style. All their Musous are personal unique moves (air and ground), not based on the weapon they are using. :)

The problem is translating as Halberd is still incorrect.

Lu Meng nor Guan Yu use a Halberd by definition, they both use Glaives, Xu Huang and Lu Bu use Halberds.

There is no hope for translating from Eastern Languages into English when it comes to these slightly different weapon types I guess, might as well just call them all sticks.

I'm just going to go with their category names, doesn't drastically bother me although it is wrong. I wish they'd just call them Polearm instead of Pike but guess that'd conflict with the Double Voulge and Halberd which are also Polearms.

Gah..
That is not a problem with translation, that's a problem with nomenclature.

The category name IS Chinese halberd. The individual weapons however, will of course have their own names. Guan Yu's will certainly be the Blue Dragon, but it is still under the "ji" category.

The video demo of Sun Shang Xiang where she was walking around the city reminds me of Strikeforce. Anyone know what battle that is where the Sun Family seemingly allies with Cao Cao and Liu Bei?

Yea I can see that point now, nomenclature is the issue =/

Koei really does need a better localization team.. hell if they showed me the pics of weapons I could tell you flat out what they are and translate it properly without needing the original text (I actually like to consider myself at least a partial expert in medieval and earlier weaponry)

sure the game got a great score in Japan, but it will most likely get horrid scores in the US, because people just don't care about the series anymore, i'll be happy if it get a 7/10 score, but a 5 or 6 is too low, it already looks amazing

Since we are on the topic of weapons, did anything like Sima Yi's claw weapons in dw6 ever exist in history? Sorry if that is off topic of dw7 but I want to know.

I hate the US's idea on games. We (as in my country) doesn't know crap about great games. It pisses me off. Oh well, japan's score is the only thing that matters for me and besides like someone said earlier, scores and reviews don't matter.

ahh! great reviews there. (Although Famitsu is often quite biased~)

Really looking forward tio DW7, it's like they took the greta parts from DW6, but then returned to the original awesome-ness from DW5. (I don't even care if that's not a word, heh)
Less than a month to go; getting overly excited x']

I have no idea where they even came up with that idea from, I couldn't find anything of the sort when I tried to get that question answered before and did some pretty extensive research. Basically they put really sharp piano wire on silk gloves and called it a weapon lol

lol, they really know how to imagine great weaponl though. I hope dlc adds a 2nd ex weapon for characters. Maybe they could add the silk claw piano gloves (lol).

It was and is my favorite weapon, but until it got to infinite renbu it was kind of awkward. Im not sure why though lol.

Because at infinite renbu it shot waves of energy which made it borderline OP with an Ice element.

I don't know, I mean DW is about weird stuff but that was one weapon I never could latch onto.

They were allies during Yellow Turbans I think

The one weapon I could never latch on to was Huang Gai's weapon (not dw6's). I was never sure why, just not my style I guess.

I loved Huang Gai's Club and Mace, was so awesome, he just tossed that thing around like its nothing.

And Joei are you thinking of a Garrote? Where you use Piano Wire to strangle someone?

Piano Wire just like in the Hitman and Manhunt games a rather gruesome way to end someone if Sima Yi did that with his weapons should they come back as DLC he'll become a top favorite of mine to use :shifty:

It's Yuan Shu... Though it could be YTR is Koei handwaves the ages of Sun Quan and Sun Shang Xiang. I guess it's their way to make it look like Liu Bei wasen't old when he married Sun Shang Xiang while she was still very young.

I don't think so, i remember it being similar to when he stabs with the wire, in a way that it stabs through the skin and into the organs very quickly and swiftly

Well sharp enough garrotes can instantly cut open the throat or behead someone in fiction.
