I'm personally not getting it until the end of the month, but my friend is getting the Japanese version and told me as soon as he gets it we can spend the rest of our Spring Break together playing it. I'm so excited and I'll try to help with some basic info on the game (like fleshing out Shadowclaimer's nice Chronicle Mode map and what the switch attacks are for the different weapon types) but I don't have a capture card and thus can't do any nice recording / streaming like I wish I could.
your so lucky that your friends play this also I tried to get my friends to play the series and they just laugh at me! they are more a World of Warcraft and CoD platers. Now there is nothing wrong with that but I would love having someone to play with. One of my best friends is moving really close to me so he is going to get hooked aha. How long does it take if you import it from Japan?
WOW. I KONW THE FEELING. All of my friends are just CoD players and Halo players. When i tell them about DW they just laugh. I used to have a friend in Mexico who played DW with me ALL of the time but then I moved and i've found no one. It sucks not having anyone to play with and to talk to about it, BUT i guess that thats why im on this forum :)

thats the thing I really like about Xu Huang too is that he is always ready to fight even though Guan Yu was a good friend it didn't stop him from trying to kill him. I really hope they keep his personality the way it is. The only problem with him I think is that he is very forgettable, ne never really wowed anyone at the office. LMAO!
I actually have to agree with you on this one.
Xu Huang needs more relationships. I would like to see him with Cai Wenji for some odd reason. But that's just my fangirl showing.
Xu Huang should at least have deeper relations with Cao Cao. Possibly even Cao Ren. He's such a mellow fighter in Wei's forces, he can really compliment... pretty much anyone.
Zhang Liao would be a good companion for him to have. Because right now Xu Huang is really just a loner. Everyone has at least one person in their respective force they have some feelings toward. Hatred/Love/Friendship etc.

In summary, Xu Huang needs a friend.

That's one of the many things I respect about Xu Huang, actually (not that last part). Yes, he was good friends with Guan Yu, but he never let that get in the way of business, and I can really respect a guy like that. Whereas Guan Yu allowed his "honor" to get in the way of his mission and allowed Cao Cao to escape, Xu Huang pretty much said "Sucks that we're on the wrong side, friend, but I have a mission to complete. Your head please?"

That and I like anyone getting a 1up on Guan Yu... I like to see how far the mighty fall when brought down by their own arrogance. This goes for everyone. Everyone. Even you, DW5XL Lu Meng in that Legends stage. Whine like a little ***** when we ruined your perfect plan, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Okay, I'm done. Sorry for the silliness.

I just hate arrogant people, hate it even more when I feel they get rewarded for their arrogance too.

Edit: In regards to Xu Huang needing a friend, he had one in WO2. In his dream stage with Guan Yu and Kenshin, Lu Meng comes to his aid. Really? Anyone want to explain that to me?

But seriously, I can see him having good relations with Cao Ren, Zhang He and Sima Yi. Didn't he take an arrow to prove Sima Yi's innocence at some point?

After Yuan Shao's death, Xu joined the campaign against Yuan's heirs. In 203, the defender of Yiyang, Han Fan, initially surrendered but soon changed his mind, because he was afraid that Cao Cao would plunder the town. Seeing such behavior, Xu knew there were doubts in his enemy's heart. He then wrote a letter of persuasion and had it fired into the city on an arrow. The defender was hence won over and Xu conquered the city without bloodshed.

since everyone was talking about xu huang i just thought that was cool

Xu Huang.
That's pretty... peaceful? of him. I love his whole calm approach on situations. He is kind of like a Kenshin.
I hope they expand on him in-game.

Another character that has been said should be expanded upon even more, that I agree with, is Cao Ren.
Why not just make those two friends. And actually show how awesome those two are. :kurokan:

The two fought at Fancheng so I see no reason why Xu Huang and Cao ren can't be friends. I just love that battle and how guan yu set the stage for his own defeat there by continuing the seige after the natural flood, pissing of Sun Quan and such. Was a great warrior but no so great tactician or politicians (no offense to guan yu fans)

I'm sure the artbook would be great but a block in my mind prevents me from preordering or importing anything now since my pandemic forum days with lotr conquest.

I'm not familiar with many of the characters stories as the only mainstream DW game i played was 6 and so i hope DW7 gives me a wider understanding of what is going on as sometimes i get a tad lost :kurokan:

Also while watching the english gameplay i noticed that Wang Yuanji's attacks were focused very much in front of her and they also deal a very small amount of damage by the looks of it. I expected her to be more of a crowd contorl character.

what are the chances of getting the artbook on like ebay or amazon? if they are low I may just have o buy the treasure box for the artbook. I am also wondering how high are the possibilities of us getting Jp voice options because if they aren't that goo of odds then II may just need to buy the Jp version. well with the way I see it if we are getting new story missions for DLC than our chances for DLC characters just went up a ton :D .

Damn Cao Hong I thought you were serious about not buying the game lol.

Idk I really hope they put the artbook on YouTube for me because I really not into that stuff to buy it and since the treasure box thing is I'n Japanese no point in buying that since I won't understand anything.

I got a question for those importing the game, are you atleast going to import the game with English subtitles if that's even posssible? To me it'd be best to be patient and atleast get English subtitles and English menus and why not, because I played multiple raid two demo and it really got boring not knowing what everything said but that's maybe just me.

I'm afraid importing doesn't work that way.
If that was the case, there would be one release date for one version of the game. Most people who play the imports usually already know Japanese, or are just really good at figuring out what's going on based on the cutscenes, what's going on on the map, and during gameplay itself.

Or... They just pop in the disc, wing it, and see what happens from there. :XD

Then there are some of us that, despite having a keen eye, most likely know little-to-no Japanese, and really need English to get fully immersed into the gameplay.

... But, of course, that wouldn't be me, not at all!

did Australia get release date yet?
It's March the 31st. I don't know why were getting it earlier, but its happened. It the same thing with Dragon Age 2 we get it on the tenth, while eu gets it on the 11th. On both cases we actually get it two days before EU, because of the whole 'being one day behidn us' in time.

Why that is? I wouldent have a clue..

well I am still serious about not getting the game. but the thing is that I know I would get it eventually anyways. So I don't want to pass up what might be my only chance of getting that artbook which I must have plus I want the Jp voices but if that won't happen for the english version then I might as well get the treasure box now incase its for pre orders only, since it has both Jp voices and the artbook. I really want to learn how to draw all the characters and maybe the artbook could help me learn to draw or trace them.

Luckily for me my cousin and I have been advent fans since DW on playstation when it was a fighting game and featured Nobunaga!!!!!! And we split the characters up equally we usually fight over who gets who but it's nice to have someone that likes the same game as you and you can share your ideas sorry for the rant but my friends play Halo as well so I know the feeling

Xu Huang is, and always will be, one of my favorite characters, I think his loner persona almost plays into it, he's loyal to a cause but doesn't seem to be entangled in the personal affairs that surround it. Would be nice to see some friendships/relationships of his though (although I don't know of any historically).

Speaking of friends, I think one of my friends is somewhat enjoy the warriors series. He used to say that he hated it and that it was always the same thing over and over again. But I think he is getting better on this lol. My other friend still hates it.

I think I remember reading something about Xu Huang avoiding making friends in history. ing ing ing.

Even then, he needs something to spice him up as a character. He was no doubt an epic general fleshed out even further with the novel's additions to his merit. Should Fan be split into two battles for Wei, the first part should go to Cao Ren, the second to Xu Huang for utterly breaking Shu's army.

Earlier someone mentioned how because of relationships and honor Guan Yu let Cao Cao go at the escape from Chibi, then how Xu Huang cared for none of that and fought Guan Yu at Fan. Really nice comparison, I never really thought of it that way.

I've always enjoyed Xu Huang myself as well, but even I have a hard time trying to determine good relations he can have with other characters. Even if its just a stretch of my own imagination, I'd kinda like to see Wang Ping (hopefully a future addition) be a student of sorts to Xu Huang. Wang Ping serves Wei and under Xu Huang directly before he defects to Shu, I'd kinda like to see Xu Huang be a teacher to Wang and try to lead him into making his own path towards becoming a true warrior which in essence leads to Wang Ping joining Shu.

It'd be a pretty decent attempt at giving Xu Huang extra relations, and it would give Wang Ping a foundation to begin on as well.

lol, the only problem with that scenario was that Xu Huang was a block head and arrogant, he tried to copy Liu Bang's fame commander Han Xin when Han Xin lead his outnumbered troops against Chen Yu and Zhao Xie during the Chu-Han contention era and put his troop's backs against the water in the battle of Nanzheng against the Shu army. He thought that putting his troops to certain death situation would motivate them to fight harder against Liu Bei's troops, just like Han Xin did which brought him victory. lol he was wrong. When Wang Ping tried to convince him that it was a disaster to order such a plan, he ignored him and when he was defeated, he tried to kill Wang Ping for criticizing him, thats why Wang Ping defected to Shu.

Xu Huang wouldn't have been a good role-model. lol, no offense to any Xu Huang admirers here, I do like Xu Huang "IN" DWs games. :P

There will still be red bars for life above enemy officer heads right? I really really hope so.

EDIT: Xu Huang seems like an idiot lol. Glad the games don't portray him like that.
