Thats what it looks like But didn't we see stage artwork titled "(Jin)Jian Ye"? Or is that something else? So much for ending in 280. Oh well not a big loss, at least it goes past 234. *Fingers crossed for xl/dlc* EDIT: the stage artwork is the one on the bottom left on KW stage artworks. I think the total number of stages is about 45 somewhere around that number which is a huge improvement over 6. @Teh_Cockatoo I think myabe they're swtiching the falls around and give Shu more glory. Whichy would be a total dumbass move. Heres to xl or dlc to to expand just one battle for late era Wu. |

I think that would be Gan Ning's gaiden stage or one of his. It is wierd seeing the story stages and then getting more for conquest/chronicle mode which means we might even get more than about the 45 stages I esimated to. |

So overall there are 60 named battles in story mode! And some are split into two! Wow talk about an awesome story mode. Loving the gameplay videos so far, i can't understand any of it but the cutscenes look really in depth and more info is shown here. Can't wait to play this game. Love the intro as well! |

Wait, the final battle is the fall of Shu? Either they're leaving Jin on a cliffhanger or they'll have Wu just die off without a battle which would be a shame. Would have prefered this being a finish and having more focus in XLs on the Others but it looks like Jin and Wu might actually need it moreso. Edited by SazukeEX, Mon Mar 7, 2011 7:15 pm.

Dont forget there are those mini battles before a major one, like the one xiahou dun and xiahou yuan where in, where they had to rescue that guy (Zhu Jun i think?). So it may not be stated but I recon more mini battles are present before a actual one stated above, and thanks for translation. |

Up to Wu Zhang Plains,Wei can technically get 21 stages, though I doubt that some stages such as Xu Chang or Tian Shui will be playable on Wei side...so this would mean that the Wei story goes past Wu Zhang Plains. I'd be glad about this...and hope that there's a stage where you prevent the Simas' usurpation. |

That stage list makes me all kinds of happy. Also, it was probably a bad idea to watch the opening video right after watching Part 1 of Red Cliff. The Zhao Yun baby-slinging forced me to do a double take.

i hope the story modes last atleast 5 hours each , i'll settle for 4 , that is what angered me about earlier games, the story modes where so short |

Well Famitsu stated that the story mode would take roughly 20 hours to complete. 20/4=5 So it should be 5 hours per kingdom mode. |

This this this. I will grant that Bao Sanniang's pimpage may not seem excessive once people have played the entire game and seen how all the characters are portrayed. However, she is annoyingly prominent at the moment, and she's already being shoehorned into an iconic battle and a spotlight that rightfully belongs to other established characters. People might find her more tolerable if she had a unique role in some not yet explored conflict rather than playing Mary Sue at Chang Ban. |

Honestly, I admit that Bao Sanniang may be fictional and she may not have any historical accomplishments, but as long as she's already introduced, we should try to get used to her. I too don't like her squeaky voice and cutsy character, but it's already been done. And even if Koei adds the worst possible character, I don't want her cut in the next game like some are saying. I NEVER want a character to be cut. I'll wait for her in the next few games. She's grown on me already, but if she could be improved just a little, I'd like her a lot more. And about the point where she's displayed with accomplished warriors such as Zhao Yun and Zhang Fei, don't you think that's what everyone wants? I mean when she was revealed and people said they wanted her to be portrayed nicely by Koei, isn't that what they're trying to do? Do you want her to just be this cutsy girl who runs around doing nothing? I'm glad Koei did this to her, so they can build on her character some more. I mean she's fictional, Koei can do whatever they want with her since she hadn't participated in any events whatsoever. |

As I said above, Bao Sanniang could have her own role elsewhere, perhaps based on her folk tales and other non-ROTK legends that fans may not be familiar with. This would be far more interesting - and far less annoying - than making her into a perky little helper to characters who never needed one to begin with. |

I'm pretty sure despite the Bao hate at her being prominent in the game, no one would object to her being prominent in certain doujins...... Anyways, I think it's around this time I spend less time here to avoid any major spoilers. |

One thing that concerns me is that in the one video with Zhao Yun, the player was able to purchase like half the skill tree all at once. I hope they had been building up their points or something and it's not that easy to get all the abilities. . . |

Even if getting all abilities doesn't take that long, that isn't a bad thing. The majority don't like the idea of overgrinding before getting to use the really fun stuff. While it takes time to get everything in DW, it's not supposed to be tedious like an RPG. Also multiply the fact that even if each character can get their abilities easily, there are over 60+ characters to master. Very few would want to bother getting everything for everyone if it takes too long to get everything for one character. Anyway I'm sure it will not be too fast getting the abilities unless people build up their points with some kind of fast grinding/farming points methods that people will eventually discover. And usually the more advanced abilities cost more. |
