Wei's Elite

I can see Shu characters getting all the love, I bet everyone BUT Wei Yan will get a stage. Wei Yan is doomed to being shunned for certain things he did, that got him killed... you know ;P Bao Sanniang is getting 2 Stages, surprise. (So i heard?) Guan Suo will be getting Nanman stages I bet. (his most active campaign would be stupid not to have him here) Xing Cai will probably have a stage as well. (Shu's last battle split with Liu Chan maybe?) Ma Dai will possibly have one. (Not sure at all) this means Pang Tong will be in part of the capture of Cheng Du battle I bet, until he is killed. (Only guessing on Xing Cai, Ma Dai, and Pang Tong, but if BS and Guan Suo have stages...) Just my personal opinion on what might happen, we all know KOEI loves Shu, and hates opposing forces. (Except Jin for some reason who ultimately conquers them ?) Edit: Quote fail Edited by YumichiHeart, Wed Mar 9, 2011 4:41 am.

And on anouther note. Zhong Hui's moveset is amazing. Heavy hit range plus plenty of 360 attacks. At moments it almost looked unfair. |

Spoiled myself rotten, I'm almost gonna have nothing to look forward to . The Wei story looks so interesting, best out of the ones I've seen thus far (shame 'cause I wanted Wu to be the main highlight ), I like the build up Wei has. Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun, Yuan, Dian Wei and Xu Zhu have all got stages confirmed thus far .

I disagree. The move sets do look fun, and I can't comment on the quality of cut scenes and interaction because I don't speak the language. However, I am disappointed with the battles that I've seen. DW6 had the best battle immersion in the series thus far, and DW7 seems to forget its strong points to some extent. DW6 had well-integrated bases, gates, and siege weaponry. Very little of that has been retained in DW7. I haven't seen any bases to capture, just targeted enemies to defeat. There is some controllable machinery here and there, which I appreciate, but I haven't seen any equivalent to the labor-intensive DW6 siege battles which required you to assist the setup of machinery or the breaking of ballistae on the castle walls. In particular - Wu story spoiler Another specific disappointment - Yellow Turban Rebellion spoiler

Can honestly see Wan Castle being in the game , but we'll see, if not I can imagine it being in Conquest Mode, especially with the emphasis they've put on Dian Wei and him meeting Xu Zhu. Can see him dying and things being all sad, Jia Xu will likely have something to do with him dying (speculation of course). Night for now too .

I want to give in and watch these stream sooooo bad, but i refuse to ruin the game for myself. However, I did give in and read all the spoilers I would bet that Pang Tong from ^earlier stated will have Cheng Du, and possibly Chi Bi. And I hope Wei Yan gets some stages. He is my fav

A few questions, since I don't come off here anymore. -Has there been any sign of canceling, like jump canceling or airdashes? -I can freely level up characters in other modes, correct? -Do some of the switch attacks end up as grabs that are impossible to chain after? I'll probably stream within a few days of the game coming out in the US. |

I wasn't even here today and I didn't watch the stream, but I read the last 15 pages of this thread so I'm just going to talk about some random topics that are being discussed or were discussed earlier. 1. I can see Pang Tong getting the Invasion of Cheng Du or probably just a part of it up until the point he dies. 2. As it appears that Wu's story is sort of half-done, I'm not that disappointed because I don't really like Wu outside of a few characters. My biggest complaint is Ding Feng not even having a stage in Kingdom Mode. The rest of the Wu characters not having a stage (Qiao sisters, Taishi Ci, Zhou Tai), I can live with for the most part. Additonally, I thought Taishi Ci was a popular character over at Koei? (If he was, I think he would have at least half a stage, but whatever.) 3. I heard Xiahou Ba doesn't even have a stage on Jin's side in Kingdom Mode but he has a stage on Shu's side. If this is so, why is he even classified in Jin in the first place? |

I know what you mean, DW6 did do a pretty good job of getting you into the battle. But I think DW7 does the same thing, just in different ways. For example, there are cutscenes mid-battle. There are also special scenes that aren't like anything we have seen in other DW games. I watched Sun Ce's mission in which he was only fighting a few enemies because he was being played around with. It is unique and engaging. |

Hell, the Qiaos dont appear in a battle, cut scene and aren't even mentioned. They are pretty much nonexistent. |

In history, xiahou Ba run over to SHu to escape persecution from sima, and he fought with Jiang Wei in the novel... I think they put him in Jin just because they needed more characters... |

1. I think I recall seeing several characters, in particular Lu Xun, Sun Quan, and Sun Ce double jump in the fashion that Speed character did in Warriors Orochi. 2. Presumably. However, I don't remember seeing anything having to do with leveling up. Just a skill tree and powering up the weapons. But it is possible the level up system just isn't as emphasized 3. No idea... |

Well thats just like Jin. I think when I counted Sima Zhao had 7 stages, Sima Shi had like 4 or 5. While Guo Huai had 1, Deng Ai had 2 I think, and Zhong Hui had 1 or 2. So really this is just showing KOEI's love for their favorites. |

In response to your signature: Wen Yang is overrated in the novel...If he can only fight Deng Ai to a draw, then the five tiger generals are all better than him, so does Gan Ning, Zhang LIao, xu zhu, and dian wei to say the least. In the history however, he's pretty good, but he had a pretty tragic death... |

Well, Jin had a lot of traitors. If Du Yu, Jia Chong, Wen Yang, and Yang Hu got in than Sima Zhao wouldn't have been hogging the spotlight so much. Though they aren't and Koei decided to fill up a Jin spot with Xiahou Ba who doesn't even get a stage and defects extremely early on. |

I'm definitely aware of that, as I read into the history and I am a fan of the novel. However, my point is that apparently, the guy has 0 battles inside Jin's kingdom mode. That is correct, zip, none, zero. So, why in the blue is he classified as a character in Jin in the first place? If they really needed a ninth character for Jin, they could've simply added someone like Wen Yang. |

Tragic? Mind on enlightening me on what was so tragic about his death? He did what a Fully Grown Zhao Yun did while he was just entering adulthood than he was rewarded for it by the brother of his enemy. Overrated is Guan Yu. Wen Yang is nowhere near overrated. Also, Deng Ai dueled constantly with Jiang Wei and by the late Era Jiang Wei was said to be the last great warrior of the error. For Wen Yang to duel Deng Ai while being assaulted at all sides shows how skilled he was. Especially since he was just 18 and Deng Ai was fully grown and experienced. Jin are traitors themselves, zhuge dan and xiahou ba are loyalists in a way zhong hui is ambitious, deng ai is wrongly indicted i really think they should add du yu, yang hu, and jia chong to the game wen yang? not so much |
