Loving all the new stuff we have gotten. Where should i begin.

The artworks from the artbook. Very and maybe the best qualitative arts so far.
The weapon-cg-arts. At least everyone has one.
The DLC-costumes. Gan Ning in his DW5-look. Must choose it somewhen.
The different types of animals in this game.
Ouuuuuuhhhhhhh, and the scythe from Yue Ying comes back. Very glad with this.

I saw some pics here with the special weapons and different outfits.
Damn i don't want to see them. Not yet.
I guess that is not avoidable when you scroll through all pages.

@ Blaziruku:
I think, i understand you. You want something like a prove, that Conquest Mode is a better version of Free Mode.
With every stage from Story Mode selectable.

@ Reverie:
Just..........buy that damn game (DW7) :shifty: . The other 2 games are surely good, but usual.

@ Whitewolf76969:
That's some good attitude man. Keep that.

You folks really know, how to "entertain yourselves", huh?
The few gameplay videos from the past were one thing.
But watching all those live-streams?
Come on, you all should really save some experiences with the game, for the time you have it in your hands.
But this? It's like owning that game already, but letting someone else playing it, and you just watch him playing.
What's the problem with wanting to get a grasp on how the game is like before you buy it? If people want to see everything about the game before they buy it, then leave that matter to them.

Is there any Zhen Ji gameplay yet? And is she a part of story mode at all? Like a cutseen or something?

The actual gameplay is far more important than being able to play your favorite character on YTR for the 10th time, although of course the lack of story stages and/or structured "big" stages in conquest mode would be a bit of a gameplay problem too: only short stages with random officers? what's the point of that?. Or the lack of free mode to replay story stages altogether, which I find rather puzzling and really hope isn't to "preserve" the dynamic cutscenes, 'cause I think about 99% of the fan base would rather take a black screen transition from cutscene involving the story mode stage character, to the one actually played, rather than not being able to replay the stage at all, if thusly inclined. But still, this is pretty much secondary if the basic gameplay can't find the right balance, as happened in DW6.

To clarify: DW6 wasn't ruined by finding out Yue Ying (favorite character from 5) had a bow and free mode only (or by Dun having the **** club), it was ruined by starting free mode on normal with Yue Ying and finding out that a) the moveset of the bow was xxxx xxxx xxxx or charge attack, and that it would remain that way except with more x and b) that enemy officers in a 1 star stage would destroy you with very little warning

And in fact both are major issues of DW compared to, say, a 1vs10 max action game like Ninja Gaiden, is that you compare the gameplay and except for the first boss it never quite ends in the "block block block block IMMA PWN YOU NOW" mode of Dw or SW AI officers. It is so much of a problem in SW3 they had to add a mechanic to "guard break" and toned down the damage. But then you still have the situation that's putting most people off, that most of the time the gameplay in DW is hitting the same button while the enemy either blocks everything, or stands around waiting to get hit, while when you'd need some more oomph you do not have the tools to deal with it. The "funniest" part of it all is that Omega Force has been putting tools in all games they did in the last few years that would help a lot, with some tweaks, to make DW more competent as far as the basic action goes, yet when they do a new numbered DW they forget everything (see SW3 guard break and combo chain dash, DW6 empires L2 and passive skills, SW special action skills, Strikeforce special skills, and so on). In fact, I was nearly shocked when I learned they had actually expanded on the only mechanic they kept (weapon change).

It *is* however leading to a rather sad and widespread "doom, doom!" attitude, so much most of the posts in here completely ignore all the positive stuff you can grasp from the very same streams.

Yeah, I've noticed that but that's their fault that they think the game is horrible without even playing it yet, anyway, since they chose to watch. :P
Although, I can understand some of the points being made that people are upset about (Kingdoms ending in bad places; characters whom don't have stages) but even despite, I'm still hyped for this.

Also, the artbook artworks.... amazing. So very amazing. Probably the best we've had so far.

You are absolutely right Yunchan.

And actually you to, Spirit. It's their problem. Even if they don't recognize it.
I just thought, that we already know ENOUGH about the game.
No need to check every corner.
But i don't care. I know for what i am going to be "reborn" :D , when i have the game in my hands.

What i find interesting is that my own mind is confused when it comes to these games, and maybe to all the rest that are rageing...

When i watch someone else play the game like the streams, i get rather bored and i can only really watch about 1 hour max... However when im playing the game, i can be for hours untill i get kinda bored or just tired..

I always keep in mind that... I dont like watching the streams much (mainly because most people doing so cant play it either -_- ) but i will mass enjoy playing the game :D

It sometimes feels distinctly like the FFXIII board on gamefaqs or elsewhere (or heck, any FF[random numer] board... or the DW6 discussions :D)

While approaching DW7 from the opposite direction you could actually say it's offering a lot more than other action games, and that the action itself could be a bigger problem than any stage or character issue, for most "normal people". If those people still consider touching the series without a ten foot pole, that is.

I must say I completely agree with you; I feel like I already know more than enough about the game having watched just a few stages from the various streams, as well as the spoilers from people here. I just couldn't help myself from looking in the thread. :hehe:

And one point that's been on my mind lately:
The artbook pictures look bloody terrible to me. Don't the people who drew them know how to draw anything but anime and manga faces?!

I think people are just jumping the gun about Kingdom Mode stages not being playable in conquest mode. Could it be that the people playing would rather focus on obtaining unique weapons/unlock characters first before playing those stages again?

ThreeKingdomsWarrior you are right, as of right now I will only be reading this thread, no more streams or scavenging for info.

Even with all these complaints from people I cannot wait to have this game in my hands.

Yeah, I really like what they've done with the musous. I like Sima Yi's the best so far with his maniacal laughing before he unleashes hell. But yeah with what you're saying that's a really cool little thing they added in.

From what I've seen the only really, really pressing question about the game would be confirming or denying the following statement of inspirator chin on his blog, concerning story mode stages:

So… It’s not possible to replay the stages of the Story Mode (with the same objectives and same characters) in Chronicle Mode? :(

inspchin Said:

You can play those maps in Conquest Mode I believe.

was he lying? was he uninformed? did he not understand the question, and thought the physical stages/locations rather than the battles?

I've got a sinking feeling he just meant map, not the battle (e.g officers, objectives e.t.c) I'm sure I'll get over it though lol. Sometimes it's hard to decipher what Chin means, so I guess we'll have to wait until player confirmation.

EDIT: Sorry, not sure what happened there, my internet timed out and posted my original and edited...

The artbook pictures i liked very much.
But you are right about the faces. I noticed that too. Some of them are too much anime-like.
I remember Guan Suo (whom i find the worst in DW7), Guan Ping, Sun Ce and Xiahou Dun. Bad faces.
And then, there are pictures like Wei Yan (no anime-face, clear), Zhou Tai, Taishi Ci, Lu Meng and Xu Huang. Those were brillant.

I've got that same sinking feeling, but we did see Sima Zhao on the yellow turban kingdom battle so idk. Then again it could have been just for demo purposes at the showing.

I just want to be able to pick every map in Conquest mode, whether or not it contains the same objectives as Kingdom mode, I would like to play a huge map with a huge army.

I'm really starting to miss Free mode already.

Don't say that too loud! Didn't you know? 2minute battles with just you vs enemy is better than replaying a story battle with at least 10+ minutes of gameplay that is actually a more realistic battle.

If chronicle mode doesn't have story battles, I really think I will get all the weapons, then not bother with it.

Sorry, I just don't get how people can say Free Mode was useless, In DW7 Free mode would be awesome to replay those stages with the characters who would best fit them :D

Edit: by story battles, I don't mean cut scenes etc. I mean with the same map, same objective, just a free choice of character.

with the whole friendship thing in this game in conquest mode, it'd almost be pretty cool if you could pick the kingdom mode map and then pick your allies for the battle, so you could concentrate on who you want to unlock.
