I haven't used it much in actual gameplay, but I remember liking the Greatsword in Ping's tutorial mission. I had some fun doing stuff like Greatsword C5 -> Weapon Switch -> Sword C5 -> Weapon Swtch -> etc... when I first got to the part in the tutorial when Ping got his C5 unlocked. :hehe: . The Greatsword's weapon switch canceled out most of his recovery lag on charge attacks, except maybe on the Ex. Can't say for sure since that was a very brief time messing with it in tutorial about a week ago now.

-Zhou Tai's Musou, along with the cutlass moveset is killer. Some of the SSTT(T?) moves are pretty beastly.
.................................................................................................

......................Did you just say what I think you said about Zh-Zh-Zhou Tai? :OMG:

You mean this badass MF?

Yes, Musashi, Zhou Tai is a samurai badass... now calm down :P Keep up like that and ill ask if ya need a tissue next ^_^;

It looks like Yue Yings Scythe is going to determine how DLC weapons are handled, at least as far as the fanbase is concerned. I hope! hope! hope! its actually an independent moveset and not just a skin for, say, her bo staff moveset.

The one thing that makes me suspicious is how cheap it is, in terms of paid DLC. 1$-ish is almost nothing.

i have a question regarding DLC weapon but here

Quote:

Does DLC weapon will have remodified moveset or simply they just brought it back from DW 5?

and does the weapon will have an ex attacks? i doubt it will have it own musou attack since it's highly unlikely imo..

quoting from my post in DW 7 female thread :D

Which actor?
DW5 - Gan Ning

DW6 - Gan Ning

Both are pretty atrocious imo, enough so that I'm willing to give this one a chance.

Also I'm not sure, but is his DW7 VA the same as his DW6 VA? Part of me says it could be, but part says no. lol

-Crossbow is also kind of hit or miss with me. The entire 6S String is essentially standing in one spot shooting. The charges are a little more varied, but I didn't really like the stiffness of the whole moveset. Plus I was using a 2 star proficient char, so I couldn't jump cancel out of the mandatory crossbow cocking finishing animation at the end of the string which made me vulnerable. Personally, I ended up giving Lian Shi a regular bow (which is pretty decent).

EDIT: JP voices for the western release would be greatly welcomed by me. Zhong Hui's JP voice along with his demeanor makes him seem like a badass to me. Zhong Hui's western dub along with his demeanor makes him seem like a super creepy whino.
Crossbow is a bit sluggish compared to other weapons, but it's a very strong weapon if you use it at 3 stars (it don't get the jump cancel but power and range up). :P
Some weapons that have the jump cancel don't do enough damage in higher difficults, but they are very useful to do combos to get +2~8 status up from the officers. I think it's good to walk around with a "power" and "speed" weapon for good damage and hit... :)

About the western VA, some like Gan Ning and Zhong Hui has very poor VA, it doesn't match the personality of the characters. Zhang Jiao has a bit forced VA too, it seems he has a bellyache. :kurokan:
Differently of the JP VA, which all VA fits perfectly...

Bow and Throwing Daggers are the best in question of combo, if you are close enough to the characters they do 4~6 hits per attack.

Strategist Fan and Flying Swords are excellent to juggle, most of their attacks can be continued if you're quick enough.

Bo Staff, Dual Swords and some others is also good to do infinite juggle and combos with C5... Also note that Bo Staff has air attacks...

Quoting limited to 5 levels deephttp://tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=922843925"In the 14th year [209], Zhou Yu and Cao Ren had been guarding for over a year and very many had been killed and injured. Cao Ren gave up the city and fled."

That sounds like a victory to me.
It's a pyrrhic victory...and in Cao Ren's biography, you can infer that the wei army is much inferior in number
as when wu's vanguard (several thousand) arrived, and Niu jIn's 300 was surrounded, Chen Jiao said to Cao Ren:"the enemy number is too strong, can't be matched, instead of letting you go into danger, let's just give up those few hundred men." (矫等共援持之。谓仁曰:“贼众盛,不可当也。假使弃数百人何苦,而将军以身赴之!”)
and for Guan Yu's involvement, you have to check Li Tong's biography
A pyrrhic victory is still a victory.

Just as Cao Ren's biography infers a small number of Wei troops, Gan Ning's bio clearly states that Cao Ren sent five or six thousand troops to beseige Gan Ning at Yiling. Taking into account that Cao Ren also had to contend with Zhou Yu, Lu Meng, and Ling Tong; that five or six thousand was likely less than half of his total troop count.

And as for Li Tong's bio, it does nothing to suggest Guan Yu cut Cao Ren's supply line; only that he had "been dispatched to make a secret attack from a northern path."
That means Cao Ren has around 20,000 troops max
Zhou Yu had 50,000, yet it took a year, and suffered heavy casualties
it shows doubt abot his general ability
5:2 troop ratio? If you're attacking a fortified position like Zhou Yu was then you need at least 5:1 to have a good chance of routing the defending army; while 10:1 is the reccomended ratio. Using your numbers of 50K to 20K it would be nothing short of amazing if Zhou Yu was to oust Cao Ren in say a few months.
I have to agree. Yes Zhou Yu took heavy casualties, but its common military knowledge that attacking a fortified position the edge goes to the defending party. History has shown that armies who fight in fortified positions will deal more damage to the attacking army, than the attacking army will do to the defenders.. Siege warfare often turns into battles of attrition, Cao Ren caved before Zhou Yu did. Cao Ren knew he couldn't not hold his position, his troops were demoralized and were tiring out. Cao Ren's army's will broke first, its as simple as that.Regardless of the losses and how he got the victory it was still a victory for Zhou Yu.

Just want to say the most annoying jp vas are dong Zhou, Zhang jiao, xiao qiao, ssx, Ma Dai, Bao, i cant remember there were a few more as well, now im sure someone will now quote this then make a larger english va list to counter this but then I'd only say what I'm saying is both jp and English are not perfect that's what I'm pointing out, peace out.

Would be nice if we could choose the VA for each character (JP or US)
but that would be asking too much for the producers... :uh:

Seems like people dislike the high pitched screeching girls in the Japanese version quite commonly. Maybe its because I'm used to watching anime, but i dont mind them quite so much.

Though I gotta agree with Zhou, not a big fan of either of his VA's Japanese or english. -_-;

I only hope that Zhong Hui's English Voice over( here-to-fore known as the castrated English choir boy) does better in the actual game than he does in his one-liners. The one from the Jin pv was awkward, the one from the site was slightly better, but still awfully akward.

I could be the one that does that, but it seems to me that you are begging someone to do it, so I won't. For the record I don't think anyone thinks they are perfect just better overall I mean seriously, the majority of the English VAs aren't good, few actually fit the personality of the character and sound splendid. The orignal VAs(or Japanese VAs to most) most of the voices fit the characters and sound good, even Bao's although it comes off as annoying it fits the personality and character they were aiming for.

Everyone's saying that it is delayed in the UK but have we had any official word from koei yet? all i can see is that Japanese DLC is delayed
I asked Koei about it yesterday - they said they would make the announcement regarding DW7 today. So hang tight - delays to come.

"the" announcement that there is a delay or "an" announcement about something?

We're they specifically saying this announcement was delay related?

(either way I'm fine. I'll play it when I play it. No rush)

No, BUT they were replying to my question about a delay.

They said they would make an announcement regarding DW7 today.

Because they were replying to me, it's probably safe to assume they're related. And besides, Amazon emailed me yesterday saying it was delayed, so it's pretty certain.

Yeah, i expect you're right.

Hopefully they'll announce the reason for a delay (now that it's quite likely that there is one)

Mostly I want to hear what it is to end the speculation going on and on here.

Personally, I'll enjoy playing it when I get it. I can wait another week or two if I have to.
