As far as I can tell everyone only has one alt outfit (which is mostly a recolor, but some have different designs on them like flames on Sun Jian's Yellow Han outfit's cape vs the lion on his normal Wu color scheme).

However, some characters have accessories they can have on and off so they have 4 outfits - the only difference between the normal and alt is the accessory. I'm talking about stuff like Dun's Eyepatch, Shi's Mask, and Ba's Helmet.
May I ask ?! what's the color of Sima Shi alt outfit ?

whining about characters not present in cutscenes is silly. How many times are the cutscenes watched compared to using them in the actual gameplay?

It would be a stupid argument to think that characters shouldn't be added unless they are included in cutscenes.

Playability takes priority over appearance in cutscenes. Ya there is story to this but when it's all said and done, what keeps the replay value going is their playable availability. :)

Very good point Saner! I actually agree with you on this one.

ya plus each character has their own Legend story. It isn't cutsceneish but it's still something extra and fun.

oh ya the wait is crazy :XD I will probably do some Hard Corps Uprising, Xmen arcade and Borderlands marathons.

I will trade in Super Street Fighter IV for Dynasty Warriors 7 for a discount.

Haven't unlocked Shi yet. I haven't had any time to play the game since last week Sunday. There might be pics or vids of it available online but when I DO get time to continue playing I will finish my collection of alt outfit and 10th Weapon pics.

I disagree. Kingdom stories should introduce the player to all the characters in the kingdom, even if they don't get to play as everybody within the story mode itself. Cut scenes help to give each character a notable screen presence. Furthermore, DW7 prides itself on an improved cinematic presentation. One could reasonably expect that such focus would involve meaningful screen time for all the characters.

Well everyone will always have their own opinions. My question to you is, have you played the game yet? Or if you even saw some Kingdom Mode cutscenes, did you understand what they were saying?

I've watched a few, and I don't speak the language. Still, the unevenness of meaningful screen presence is clear enough from the discussion in the thread about characters without cut scenes. Some characters get tons of screen time, others only show up once or twice and barely say anything, and others never appear at all. A character with a couple of lines over the whole story isn't going to have the same impact as one who appears time and time again with a variety of actions and conversations.

Hm... well, to fully understand your disagreement, actually understanding what was really going on during the cutscenes would give us a better understanding on why certain characters weren't given a spot in Kingdom Mode.

Hearing it from people who only given us a scratch of information on the issue, really just kind of throws you around a bit. I've only seen *English/American* people complain so far, and what they have most in common is that they haven't actually played the game yet :/ I think next week will definitely show us how things really work instead of going by what others say.

Its possible seeing as how you can pick the stages in story mode after you finish or continue. I mean they add a stage that wasn't in the story, add a cutscene with the meaningful character(s), release it as dlc, you download it, go to the story and find the stage, then enjoy. I don't see how it would throw it off, they only have to put new by it so you can find where the stage and event takes place in the timeline. Shouldn't be to hard to incorporate, right?

I don't think they'll extend story mode much more, its pretty much done. As much as we want to see otherwise they tried to construct linear stories for specific characters and inserting others into the middle would mix that up. I'm not happy with it personally but I'm not expecting much more.

They'll have no issues with Conquest Mode stages though since they're pretty detached and they can cram dozens down our throats =D which I will thoroughly enjoy.
I wonder why story mode stages can't be replayed as *other* characters or something, kind of stupid IMO. You don't really need the seamless transition, since it does sort of *fade* out for a sec before the cutscene, so why not just let another character play in? You can do it in conquest (press a stage just teles you into game) could do that, but w/e. Conquest mode looks nice enough with those big ass faction battles, although I see tons of really really small battles though. (probably 80% of the battle stages)

Well there are about 9 mass battles

With a lot of small and medium sized battles, I think there will be plenty of medium and big sized battles, and the small battles will be fun in their own way too.

Also couple that with I think the news that almost all stages have random enemies/allies and there will be more ways to experience a single hex in the map!

I can't wait!!! The only things I can complain about is the delay, if it wasn't delayed it would be coming out tomarrow :kurokan: , and the clones, which I can't really complain about because each character has 2 unique musou attacks and a unique EX attack. The wait is TORTURE!!!! A week and a day left! I would literally fall to the ground and die if it was delayed again. Poor Europeans....

^ Loving itt!!! :D
That's fantastic, really vibrant. Wu definitely needs a bit of colour otherwise it feels a bit lifeless, but I guess that image is from the credits, where they seem to be implying that the scenes have now become 'history'. Anyway, well done, it looks great.

Also, I know I should keep this to myself, but I'm getting increasingly annoyed with Americans moaning about the wait. I live in the UK and won't be getting the game until at least the 8th. Count yourself lucky.

Fans get anxious, especially the closer you get to the release date. It's not like its harming anybody for them to voice their slight impatience or try to hold in their excitement.

Besides its not like every American here is going to be getting it on the release date, you should count yourself lucky that you get it the 8th...whereas the earliest I'll probably be able to get the game is June.

I disagree. Kingdom stories should introduce the player to all the characters in the kingdom, even if they don't get to play as everybody within the story mode itself. One could reasonably expect that such focus would involve meaningful screen time for all the characters.
meaningful screen time for 67 people is way beyond the reach of the game or most media, unless meaningful you consider 30 seconds each (consider this: even with 30 seconds per character it's still over half an hour cutscenes)

so you see how the "improved cinematic presentation" and axing characters screen time actually may not be two opposing concepts

heck there is ROTK tv shows with 30+ episodes and Xiahou Dun barely makes a cameo, and there was a Lord of the rings movie without Tom Bombadill

Besides, we all know this is pretty much a lose-lose situation: make [insert random conquest mode character name] playable in kingdom mode with cutscenes and the Yu Ji, Lu Su, Zuo Ci, Pang De, Yue Jin fans will rise in arms, and so on: there is over 1000 characters in the book
