Since you continue to complain and still see it as an issue, and drag on about something that won't change in this version, guess who's the childish one? Oh well, I don't need to convince people that are upset and incapable of enjoying the way DW7 characters work now. I will have lots of fun with DW7 and they will not.

Off-Topic, but important!!!! If you think of playing DW7 online. For all those, which still have no PlayStationNetwork-Account, and are thinking of joining in and create one. One important thing, if it is not already known. Choose your PSN-ID very thoughtful. Because once you have chosen it, you can not change it. I tried, without success. Wrote even to the support-team. No answer since over two weeks. The japanese with their PS3-systems are able to change it. Even the XB360-users have that privilege. But not we western-PS3-users. Surely you can create a new account, but you lose all trophies you collected so far. |

Ima say this using another weapon is literally cloning another guy without his/her ex and Musous. Lol now before you defend Koei with that 62 character nonsense, stop because I'ma end this by saying you can't prevent cloning someone else if that weapon isn't your ex, though you can use the switch system and your ex weapon can have a unique moveset and still have the switch system that is very possible even with the whole ex attack and Musous being character base but that's another story. I'm not really irked by the switching weapons but I will accept the fact that you I'll just be using someone elses moveset which I'm completely fine with that, I'm not being sarcastic but it's understandable that even with those combinations there is that much uniqueness it provides a strategic style like if you are a bow user and enemies come close you switch to a melée style and for example it's a Dao so you kill people the same way the other Dao users kill people just no musou which is understandable lol. Now I remember joetri and fuuma saying they should cut half of the cast or make them unpcs, that almost happened I'n this game lol. Because it's easier to program and making 35 good movesets and weapons is much easier than making 62, and you get your game out before you're old Besides, if they did make 62 movesets then people would complain that: - movesets for similar weapons are too similar, they'd rather have the same with better attacks - game took forever to be released - (complain about) whatever else was cut to make 62 movesets: would they really have added so many new characters if they had had to make a unique moveset, weapon, story appearance and cutscene cameo for each? Besides, it's the same deal as the cutscenes for all characters issue, or kingdom stages for all characters, or character selection for stages again... give every character a cameo people are going to complain that the story is watered down by useless cameos, make Wei's final stage Wu Zhang people will say it really should've ended at Fan, and so on In the end, especially when you have a series with long-standing cult-following and have run yourself into a corner where a part of your fans only wants more of the same, and another part doesn't care about you anymore, you eventually have to call it a day and roll with what you think works (and yes this includes development time and costs - especially if you also want to do 5 other games at the same time, for whatever reason): you know people will complain endlessly anyway, so why try to please them all in the first place?. See FFXIII for another chapter of that story: the game "fans" demanded was way beyond reach, the game the developers actually made was quite good (with some problems within the chosen frame, expectations notwithstanding), once you could reset your point of view enough to notice. I quite hope that DW7 is able to pull of the same, they tried changing things once before with DW6 and we all know how the fan reaction to that one was. Ps: DW6 did not have a cloned moveset or lacking musou modes problem, it had a Renbu problem and a horribly fractured "campaign" which you could not get without a degree and master in ROTK. Of course, things could turn radically for the worse if we found out that, I don't know, on top of being shared many weapons still suck too much to be used, kingdom mode's new cinematic story and/or dubs is uninteresting, Cow Cow is back, or certain aspects of gameplay are still broken after ten years. But we don't really most of these things yet - well, one thing we do know: pretty much everyone here who played the Japanese game seems to be quite happy with it, and I'd rather go by that than the usual pre-cognitive doomsaying. Just don't assume everyone has been cloned from Xiahou Dao or Sun Dao or Dao Dao just because two people out of two playing the streams on easy mode boosted themselves with the single good weapon they had which happened to be a Dao instead of a fan. That was random............. Anyways, this clone discussion should have been over a while ago. It went on for like a page or two. It's really pointless because no one will change Koei's decisions and I bet you that it's hard to come up with new character designs, some new weapons, unique movesets, and all of that when there are 62 characters. I like the double weapon system and the unique musou attacks and EXs. It adds a little more uniqueness. I will be enjoying this game.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!:XD At Cao Pi he seems to be angry in all of his expressions, I think its because of his eyebrows lol. Zhang He looks all narcissistic when he's mad. On the topic at hand, I know you guys aren't going to playing as every character, if you are then you should be complaining. I never played with all the characters when they were "unique" and I won't now. I won't be have any clones in my DW because I'm sticking to certain characters after I finish the story mode, but I'm doing Chronicle Mode first to unlock some weapons, so I won't spoil the movesets of my favorite characters. Ahem.... and are we getting dlc weapons that should clear up this riverbed of clone talk and don't let your pessimism get in the way when think about dlc weapons because they are going to have a new moveset, its not just a skin as some were saying before. |

i think im done with this site for a while. its not helpful anymore its just 5 pages of a pointless arguement and then another 5 pages of a new one. The games done US will have it in a week. think what you want about "clones" you cant change it and either deal with it or dont get the game. i myself am very happy with how the game looks and cant wait to play it this coming tuesday |

Just want to clear up that the weapons don't belong to anyone anymore so you are really cloning another character, its just that the movesets are tied to the weapon now,excluding the musou,ex, and I think the 5th and 6th charge attacks since you have to buy them for that character. |

not only does Zhou Tai not get any stages in kingdom mode, but i just found out he doesn't even appear in a cutscene. looks like i will b playin nba2k11 sooner than i thought i would after i get dw7 |

How am I being childish exactly? You do know that criticism is called for and this is a forum for expressing said opinions? I can use that same logic by saying you're childish because you don't agree with ME, as are you saying I'm childish because I don't agree with YOU. Who said I'm not going to enjoy the characters? I said I find it a problem and in the worst case scenario something that will be a HUGE problem for everyone(unless they like clones).

Like I said before(I think it was to you), you can't stop the complaints. Someone always has a complaint about something, and due to the societies we live in, it's OUR JOB to respect differing opinions... At least in the surface. We can't go all "your opinion sucks, mine is better" because that would be hypocritical... Unless the person is fine with being a hypocrite.

Yes, but none of those games pride themselves in unique and stylish officers destroying whole armies of enemies. When playing a shooter, it would be strange to have a different character wielding a shotgun in some way opposite to the norm. That isn't the point of a shooter anyway. The player is probably looking at his enemy and not watching his character pull the trigger. With created characters, you aren't going to see any other characters around, unless you start a new game. The Elder Scrolls gives you many, many options, and all for one single character. With Dynasty Warriors, I expect to see contained yet wild move sets coming from my unique generals. I still get that, true, but they are a bit more canned then ever before. There are 62? characters in the game, but in actuality, there are only 36. 36 unique move sets is not a bad thing, honestly. In a typical Warriors game, I don't even have 36 characters I want to play all the time. However, with this game, it hardly matters which character I want to play, since none of them have their own moves. They share with every other character. It's like Orochi, a bit. You take TWO of the THIRTY-SIX characters into combat, but have one character's musou (twice) and a single R1 special. Truly, 36 isn't a bad number of characters, but I expected to have 62. Just because I can craft 62 characters with different weapon combinations does not mean they are unique, as any other character can do the exact same thing. I'm pretty much sticking each character with his/her base weapon, and likely kicking out other characters that share it, more often than not. I have Lian Shi with a crossbow, I need no other character with a crossbow. Da Qiao has a fan, you say? Great. Goodbye Xiao Qiao, etc. |

1. I'm not a game designer or developer. 2. It's been over three years since the last main Dynasty Warriors game came out, and seeing as presumably none of us know when the game development started I think three years is plenty of time to create 62 movesets more unique than they are now. Making one aspect of the game good and neglecting another equally important aspect is lazy to me. Maybe my standards are too high for a company that has a history of laziness and cutting corners. Pass Jiang Wei, Da Qiao, and Cai Wenji are recycled. But I will gladly admit that the graphics in DW7 are vastly improved from past games. But, although I am not a game designer, I don't know whether the improved graphics prevented Koei from giving us more movesets; I would hazard a guess and say no they didn't. Don't get me started on the way Koei attempted Conquest or Kingdom Mode for that matter. It showed a clear lack of prudence. I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't imply I was dumb or foolish. Just to correct you before Joetri sees red over that comment ![]() He suggested turning half the cast into Unplayable but Unique characters, not cut them entirely. @Xiuzhao: Your 3 years between games comment is completely irrelevant. You do realise Koei doesn't go straight onto the next sequel the moment they finish one game? You also realise the research/design/development stage takes FOREVER, months and months of meetings, paperwork and planning. In the scheme of things, 3 years isn't a massive amount of time. From PCs to NPCs was precisely what I meant (see Sengoku Basara 3) - although yes, to some extent this is what was done in Kingdom mode. You could also theoretically have a ROTK game following a handful of officers only, the rest being bosses, npcs in towns, there for the story etc - sort of like Red Cliffs deals with a few characters primarily, or certain 1990s games like Warriors of destiny. As for the development cycle: I hardly doubt it was more than a year full production, they also did a few too many other games imho in the meantime (3 Gundam Musous, 2 Warriors Orochi + PSP game, Fist of the North Star, Zill O'll, Samurai Warriors 3 and Z, Samurai warriors 3DS, 2 PSP Strikeforce games + Strikeforce for home consoles and DW6 empires) on which I doubt they always put different people on. Could've done with a few less of those and more movesets, true, but I doubt things are as simple. |

Guys, stop with the clone discussion- We all know there are 36 unique movesets. Nothing can change that. Although maybe later we will get Unique DLC weapons with new movesets that add on to the 36 already there. However, at the moment we have 36.I don't see why people are complaining that every character can use these movesets. You can choose who weilds what. You don't have to have a character with a weapon that doesn't suit them. Thats the whole point, you get to choose the first and secondary weapon. If you want to keep the weapon the same EX weapons for both slots you can do that. If you want to use two non EX weapons in the slots you can do that. So rather than being locked to a character, we can stop your favourite character being a "clone" by equiping them with any weapon. I'd much rather have this weapon switch system than have cloned movesets locked to 62 characters. The weapon switch system gives the freedom to unclone a "would be" cloned character. Sure i'd love to have 62 unique movesets and a weapon switch system, but unfortunatly we do not. All we can hope for is DLC weapons and DW8 with unique weapons for all. I'd still like to see the switch system in the next DW as we can use any weapon we like on anyone. It gives freedom to the user to use the weapons how they want. Either keep the EX the same, or experiment with new ones. it's up to you. |

*Not taking any side in this. For which kingdom has the best ex attacks and musous overall, its hard to say. The best ex attacks would be the ones that can hit multiple enemies more than once(ma dai, guan ping and anyone else im forgeting.) |

Well the video from the producer or one of the producers came out a few months after DW 6 they he stated they already began work on DW 7 and it will be better than 6. I'm just summarizing what he said. Also Ill try and find the video but it's been like two, three years ago because I was upset with DW 6 I just typed dynasty warriors 7 and it popes up lol. Also I can't remember if it was the producer, but it was a legit video. How ever the probably did remakes and what not. Though most game devolopers usually wait though so frayling isn't wrong 100%. You know I only have one huge complaint with this game and its how they made Sima Zhao and Liu Chan so similar, I mean just because they had a feast together doesn't mean they are both are lazy and carefree. Sima Zhao wasn't like that as far as I know, I guess they wanted to make them friends so they molded him to fit Liu Chan's personality, that **** irks the hell out of me. |
