I would say Lu Bu since he is the only at 60, with Lu Meng at 59 having the second most, what coincidence that both have the surname "Lu".

Forget total stars, who has the most three stars?
That's kinda worthless to count honestly, counting stars at all is xD also I can't just run an excel formula to count threes really.

Here's the deal:
First star gives you the ability to use the weapon
Second star is a speed boost/damage boost, its the most important
Third star is the ability to air jump cancel or a bonus wind element (depending on weapon)

If you are at least two stars in a weapon you'll be fine, 1 star you will see your combos getting interrupted a bit more, and 3 stars you'll see them linking more ridiculously with that wind element especially.

But there's still the seal that gives you full stars with a weapon, and although one less seal slot sucks, its not THAT bad.

Edit: Dammit double post..
It's not worthless. And yes, I know the breakdown of what stars do.

At the moment, I am counting this **** up myself. I have time.

I'm not complaining either, simply musing. Not that I'll use a valuable seal slot for weapon mastery anyway.

Claws, Twin Swords, Twin Rods, Sword, and Rapier are all weapons that no one has only one star with.

Yea didn't mean it like that, was just saying a lot of people are jumping on the "THIS GAME SUCKS OMG" train because their characters didn't get star combos they wanted. It sucks but dammit people its not going to ruin the game because you're one star down on a weapon.

yey! you show em Yue ying! only two characters above ya! Not bad for a girl who, to my memory, is essentially mentioned only once in the entire RotTK novel... and in past tense to boot. lol

Awesome work on the chart btw, though i still find it odd that Xiahou Ba, of all people, has a 3 in Lu Bu's halberd when no one else does... somehow thats just odd.

Pretty much, although there does seem to be some priority given to the new characters. Guan Suo seems to have ridiculous proficiency.

Yue Ying got stuck with pants that may as well be green paint on her skin. In turn, she got a lot of weapon stars.

Can't point the sexist finger now can you guys? :p

The universe is in balance.

Thanks for all the info Shadow :)

Theres just one thing i don't understand, say i use Zhao Yun and the Arm Cannon who has 1 star with it. Can i just equip the seal you mentioned and instantly become 3 stars with it?

Also, how do we go from a 2 star weapon (with the third star grayed out) to a 3 star weapon?

Thanks again

There are Skills in each characters skill tree that fill in the gray stars for weapons automatically when researched. Chin called them things like "Speed" or "Strength" and you gain stars with the associated weapons. So basically you can fill in all your gray stars by buying skills.

But yes, that seal is instant level 3 with the weapon type. If you're the kind of person who only uses one weapon anyway, toss the compatibility seal on your sidearm (or if you're wanting to be a clever one weapon user, use the 5 slot Flute and toss the compatibility seal and 4 others on there) then enjoy the bonuses on the first weapon.

The stars aren't TOO important, but I do tend to use lots of 3 stars because I like finding ways to incorporate Jump Canceling into my combos or because wind effect on all hits = beastly. Really tho, I even used 1 stars for some people when doing my final seal grinding last night with out too big of a problem. Think of it like the handicap of heavy weapons in DW5 (minus the power boost those had) - Usable still, just harder to be combo efficient with. Could even be cool for people looking for challanges.

Ah ok, Thanks for your quick response :) That seal could be kind of cool to use on secondary weapons a few times. I really like the skill trees this time, they seem to have a lot of quick relevant skills on there unlike the DW6 one.

btw, i'm not entirely sure what the seals do, is there anywhere i could read up on the different types of seals and what they do?

Do you have my weapon guide open? There's a seals section.

Unofficial names but effects are correct.

Who wants to use two 3 stars anyway?

That would make the game just too easy.

Imo regardless of their 1 stars, I'm still giving Sun Jian a greatsword and Cao Ren a sword/shield.

Look on the bright side - at least the proficiencies make characters even more unique! :3

Just poking fun, sorry :P
All I know is that I'm giving Zhen Ji a chain whip and Lu Xun a crossbow and no one is going to stop me.

Eh.... I -loved- her DW6 outfit... though I don't really dislike her DW7 one...It's just... TOO green, for me anyway. Had there been less green... or even just darker green... i might be satisfied with it.

I noticed that effect with most of the character costumes. They really went overboard with the colors.

Too much green in Shu characters, too much red(and orange?) in Wu characters. Heavens forbid they actually wear something that doesnt have their faction color on a one inch strip of cloth

Wei and Jin seem much more color balanced in their primary outfit colors. Though... some alternate outfits seem horrendously colored o.0;

I can't help but think that if DW had a Battle Edit mode (Pick any map, pick the officers and set them up with troop amounts, go at it) it would be absolutely perfect.

Huang Gai should've had 3 stars for everything....ESPECIALLY the chain whip.

Oh how Godly that would have been.

Chibi will like in how Lu meng has the second highest star count overall with 59.

And then Yue Ying with 58 stars????? Well more power to her. OF course I'm looking at overall star count and compatiblity so they may have a bunch of twos .
Wow, Lu Meng is good with lots of weapons... does that make him... (2nd) WEAPON MASTER?

Though, not a fan of Tier system in any game, really. Competitive play in fighting games and Pokemon make my froth at the mouth when it comes to the dreadful TIER system.

Hopefully, DW7 won't all be about it.

As a competitive Street Fighter/Marvel vs Capcom/Mortal Kombat/Soul Calibur/Pokemon player, I for one welcome the day Koei tries to make DW more than a simple beat em up and tries to implement more competitive fighting spirit in the game.
