actually musou was easy to fill in all but dw6,so seeing the bar fill up that fast doesnt surprise me.as for the two new vids, its nice to see they improved zhang liao's dw6 moveset and i believe they incorporated the grab into one of his charges rather than a different button and nice to see his alternate musou.as for Wang yuan ji's all i can say is,EX spam lol although the player did show what happens when you musou with a different weapon.but that raises a question, when you have your EX weapon swapped out and then do musou, what type of weapon will be shown to perform it.in case that might to confusing i'll set it up like this:

character:wang yuan ji
weapon 1:dao
weapon 2:club

now when you do musou, its your EX weapon no matter what.however what lvl of the EX weapon will be used when you do musou when its not equipped?default throwing dagger?
a character's musou will always be their ex weapon.

well ive been disappointed of xu huangs look ever since the trailer and well they give him his axe back so thats a good thing the dlc will be good for me so i can incorporate that in the gameplay i hope it effects cut scenes to.anyway im glad to know cutscenes wont be to short i was worried for a while that each one would be like 10 seconds long but with the gameplay video its not true so thats good.anyone know who the npc is that is with zhang liao's cutscene?

So I was mildly curious and counted the number of honeycombs on the Conquest mode screen...216. So, at least 216 stages, right?

In the video played at the KT conference, it looked like there were THREE stages selectable from ONE honeycomb, though I could be mistaken...

This begs the question..just how many stages ARE THERE? Obviously the number of maps will be much less..I think I remember hearing ~15 stages/kingdom, so that makes 45 unique maps (best case scenario, probably less than that, like 25-30). Even so, I think this means that each Kingdom stage will be playable in Conquest mode, so we can use any character? This is just all my personal speculation...

One thing worth noting: it's possible no two NPC officers will look alike due to the way they're designed now. While there are common design elements and facial structures, KOEI could make every generic officer a unique mix of appearance elements. Just look at Li Dian and Yue Jin in Zhang Liao's video... fairly unique.

Since cutscenes are now rendered in-game, I think there's a good chance we might see any cutscene NPC's on the battlefield as well, though they might not be armed. Peasant units and the like.

The more and more I look at the game, the more it looks like Chronicle Mode (I refuse to call it Conquest mode) will be the meat of the game. I guess that's what KOEI intended.
Refuse to call it Conquest Mode all you like, but that's what it's officially called in the Western release of DW7.
Doesn't make it a good name. Or an accurate one. I don't see what was wrong with "Chronicle Mode," since it's not only the more accurate translation of the Japanese and the more accurate representation of what the mode's about.

I'm listening to the English voices again, and I have to ask.

Who is voicing Cai Wenji, Lian Shi and Bao Sanniang?

I can't tell, but it sounds like Cai Wenji has the same voice that she had in DW6 Empires.
Cai Wenji- Sounds like Carrie Savage but I'm not sure. ( I say that because she sounds like an older Diao Chan.)

Lian Shi- Michelle Ruff

Bao Sanniang-Kari Wahlgren (Fuu in Samurai Champloo if you have heard of it.)

I was thinking I was hearing Michelle Ruff and Kari Wahlgren but wasn't too sure. Having Michelle Ruff doing voicework for the game and she's not voicing Zhen Ji?. GDI D;.

Hmm, could be Carrie Savage. Did she do the voice for that female type in DW6:E?

Not all the honeycombs are battles, some are 'town' sections where you can buy new weapons and stuff.

You know what, it is the same voice as on DW6E for Cai Wenji now. :XD I think koei had her planned for DW6 but things didn't go according to plan so they just held her till Multi Raid 2 and DW7. Very interesting. ^_^

Yeah Wendee Lee did a CAW voice so I wouldn't be surprised if Carrie did one or two as well.

Maybe she was left out due to time constraints or something. Hmmm :p.
Never knew Wendee Lee did one of the voices, I knew Laura Bailey did one of them though.

If you go onto the official Japanese DW7 site, move the cursor over 'mode', click on the second in the list and then click on the picture of the honeycombs (the top left of the four) - You'll see that there are a lot of different honeycombs for different things.

Looks like the Musou gauge has the same size in every picture and video we've seen so far, so I think that by leveling up you increase how quickly it fills up instead of increasing its size. And since the Zhang Liao and Wang Yuanji shown in the video are probably pretty high Lv., that explains why their gauges fill up so fast.

Besides, it also looks like you can't extend the Musou attack like you could in the old DW games, so that would explain why the Musou gauge fills up faster in DW7. You can use it more often because you can't use it for as long as you could in the old DWs.
I much prefer this.

I hated long musou bars.

I hope this is how it is. I can see Koei doing this to urge the use of Musou more often, probably to balance out both AI difficulty and the fact that only Musou and EX attacks are unique.

It kind of takes the focuss off of the whole cloned movesets thing (which doesn't bother me that much to begin with, but whatevs) if you think about getting to use your musou every few minutes (as opposed to the old DW games, where I would maybe use it, 2-4 times/level, and then only on the big boss fights).

No offense, but refusing to call something by its english name and just referring to it by its Japanese name...isn't that a bit elitist?

It's like watching the english Dragonball Z, and referring to it as "Super Saiya-jin", even though all you watched is the english DBZ.

I don't think it's really elitist. Some things just sound better in Japanese. And also, that's a personal preference, so they can call it whatever they'd like. I don't really like the name 'Conquest Mode' either, but it's what I'm stuck with lol

I'm not the sort who prefers the Japanese version of everything to the English version of everything, so don't pull the elitist card on me. What I do hate is when the English version completely mangles the meaning of the translation. I understand that some things don't translate well, but there is no reason for it to be called Conquest mode. That misleads people into thinking it's about conquering China and uniting it like an Empires game.

I'll call it Chronicle Mode, because that's what we first knew it as from the Japanese translation and because I happen to think it fits better. If people really have a problem with me using that word, then too bad.

If they release DW7 on PC, I'll even go in and edit the graphics files so that it says "Chronicle Mode" instead of Conquest mode. I was unaware that there were forum rules that dictated semantics.

Oh, wait. Never mind. This is the forum where the mods were making people say "Tokugawa Ieyasu" instead of "Ieyasu Tokugawa"...
