Haha, I remember that video...Funny stuff. Also, people have been tiering characters since at least Warriors Orochi, at least on the GameFAQs board. But it's like...what's the point? Sure, there is an undeniable difference between a character like Yoshimoto and a character like Tadakatsu, but these games have never been competitive so who cares? Even then the basis of a tier system was originally intended to rank characters based on how many tournaments they were winning, and eventually evolved to rank characters based on their good/bad matchups. Even then 'top tier' characters can have trouble against a low-tier character, like in Marvel Vs Capcom 2 Megaman is considered a low-tier character, but he can be used in high level play because he gives Magneto, one of the god-tier characters, a ton of trouble. Tiers aren't supposed to be the end-all be-all character ranking that some people make it out to be, nor are they supposed to be used to say 'Oh, my character is better than your crappy low tier character, I win automatically and you suck'. It's just some people take it and run with it, and come off as asses. But anyways, again....because the Musou games are not intended for competitive versus play in any serious manner, tiers are practically worthless. Just play the game however you like! |

Tiers are there whether you like them or not, especially in Musou/KOEI games. Yoshimoto is always going to have a harder time on Chaos mode than Diao Chan or Kunoichi in Orochi 1, and no amount of level grinding or weapon fusion will change that. On the other hand, Ling Tong had unparalleled offense against officers in Strikeforce 1 due to his command attack having a guard break property on it, but he still struggled against the giant enemies without switching to another weapon. All of their games are glaringly unbalanced in some form, even the ones that give the player more control over what they bring into each battle like the Orochi and Strikeforce series. With that said, it seems like this game's tiers will revolve around the moveset more than anything, since the stars become a moot point if you want it to be. Weapon combos might also be a factor for those who don't intend on using a single weapon on every character. |

I have seen it my contact showed me, E.B warehouse indeed has DW7. Apparently those who pre-ordered get it on the 31st defiantly. She was unsure of non-pre orders though. Oh well I still got to touch the A.U version. |

I've been to a KOEIless Memorabillia today which wasn't what i expected it to be but asked Chin about why they were absent and why EU got an extra week delay and this is what he told me "1. cause we have so many titles coming and been really busy working and didnt have time to prepare for Memorabilia after the Midlands. 2. US one supposed to be next week but some dodgy retailers shipped it out quick I believe if u preorder ...it it might have the same thing happened in UK as well. And we're working on the DLC as well with the metadata in all European languages also the game that's what I can tell." |

Tiers are awesome when my favorite characters do well! When they don't! I snub them and pretend not to care. Lol. ( )This time, I feel happy because Xu Huang can become absolutely broken. I should have started maining Xu Huang long ago as he's been high tier or just below it in every game, even going back to his first ever appearance in DW3 (with his 4th weapon.). I'm not convinced yet. He has one flashy charge and one flashy musou that seems like its blitzing really fast but in truth as with a lot of other musous ends quickly and doesn't hit as many times as it actually seems like it is. |

Without intelligent use of jump canceling, it seems like the length of a character's musou will play a huge part in determining if they're worth using in the long run or not. Officers can't be knocked out of their musou anymore, so a popular method of dealing with them is simply using a musou that's active longer than theirs is, although jump canceling is naturally the more cost-effective method. This also renders some of the grab musous like Ling Tong's relatively useless in that situation unless the player manages to grab onto a peon during an officer's musou. |

Something dissapointing I noted while playing is Jia Xu is absent from Hu Lao Gate battle. I thought he should be serving under Dong Zhuo at that time. And ok again regarding the clone issue. The more I play the game the less angry I feel. The EX Attack and 2 unique musous per character is sufficient to differentiate the characters to make them unique. But more can be done. The map gets ridiculously huge in some battles, but for some it's ok. |

I live in a neighborhood where the closest gamestop is around 30 blocks away. So sometimes I depend on mom and pop video game stores for my games. I know its not right to sell the game early but they did. |

Yea, I'm still a little disappointed with clones, but I think Koei is still experimenting to see how they can improve upon the classic gameplay so that more people can enjoy the game, without it being labeled by the mainstream as suck. I think the dual weapon system is good though, haven't played it yet but it still sounds good IMO. I think in DW8 they should give each character a completely unique moveset with at least one weapon type. Example, say I have Xiahou Dun with Scimitar/Bo staff. He'd have a completely unique moveset with the scimitar, but the bo staff would be a generic moveset that applies to all characters. Then, I switch my Xiahou Dun to Iron Claw/Bo Staff, then he'd use generic moveset for both weapons. Then I decide to play as Zhang He and give him Iron Claw/Scimitar, he'd have his own moveset for the claws, along with a generic moveset for Scimitar. I think it'd be an interesting way to make each character more unique, while preserving the dual weapon system's more interesting combo-ability. |
