Is it just me or has everyone who got the game today, said they've been playing it for 3 hours?lol :hehe:
I've played for about 8 hours. :XD Most of the time was spent on Wu's story.
Spoiler: click to toggle

The last two hours or so spent on Conquest. Some of the character/weapon combinations are just godly.

I definitely agree with all the great things said about kingdom mode. It definitely engrosses the player a lot more than previous DW games. Surprisingly, I didn't find it much of a problem to not choose my own character in kingdom mode. Using siege weapons is awesome too.

I honestly never ever tend to care about story modes in DW/SW games, but the Kingdom mode is actually really great. For the first time ever I'm not just skipping scenes. I really like the interactions between the Wu family members and friends. I also like that the deaths are real and important.

On another note, I was doing a battle with Zhou Yu, did his Ex attack, and magically ended up in the water underneath the boats I was fighting on :( Had to restart the battle...
Was it Chi Bi? Cause I find the DW7 Chi Bi map to get really glitchy at times.

Yup! Fell right through the ground. Luckily I was only a few minutes into the stage, didn't waste much time.

Going to bed now, all you guys who are getting this game tomorrow, I hope you are excited, because this game has really brought back my excitement for Koei series after I was severely disappointed by SW3

I echo all the other statements about Kingdom Mode. Some of the character choices may be iffy on a few stages, but overall it does a fantastic job of telling the overarching RotTK story. I just beat all four of them and the stages have been so damn fun I haven't even thought about "I wish I could be playing as so and so right now instead".

Not to mention the fact that I haven't even watched a single cutscene yet because I been skipping them to wait until I play the English release to fully appreciate / understand them. I will get to fully enjoy these battles all over again soon :hehe: .

Must say I noticed something odd when Sun Quan pulled out his DW 5 sword before the chi bi battle started. In the cg scene.

I've noticed peoples' issue on the framerates and I think it has more to do with your Tv than the game itself. A workbuddy had explained to me yesterday about how important your hertz ratio is for your framerares. So you should consider the amount of pixels and hertz your Tv includes.

This comment can't go into the complain thread though it is a complain.

Co-op 2 player is ridiculously funny.

The mini map is huge, it is freakishly huge already for 1 player. It takes up 1/4 of the screen!
When you play coop 2 player offline, you see TWO MAPS! SAME SIZE! LOL
Both of them are freakishly huge, so you cannot exactly view straight

Well, it is not as bad as I said it is, however, it is not all that decent either.
It takes up 1/3.5 of the screen.
You can still see your character and stuff, but your screen is resized by much.

I hope that if I do get any framerate issues they're more like...Dynasty Warriors 3 FPS drops rather than Warriors Orochi on the Xbox 360 FPS drops. DW3 style drops I can tolerate, but the WO slow-mo FPS drops were just brutal, especially when my PS2 versions were blindingly fast...

Anyways, ended up getting the Xbox 360 version, I should be able to play very soon and I can't wait!

I've been playing this game for the past half hour and I notice there's a bit of lag/frame rate slowdowns in the first two story mode levels. I'm installing the game to my hard drive right now to see if it will go away. (I'm on the 360 by the way)

Also there's one thing I haven't heard people mention, and that is that if you press the back button, you can check the battlefield and battle logs. I thought this was removed due to the lack of menus in DW7, glad I was wrong. Sorry if everyone already know this, but I've been trying to say away from the forums and videos. :XD

All modes are unlocked, don't worry.

My friend and I are playing Co-op online and we are experiencing lag. Enemies are in different spots on each of our games or different things are happening even though we are both beside eachother. Sometime there is a 5 second delay/difference in the actions of enemies (such as musou attacks). We do not lag in other games at all and both have high speed time warner internet. I'm, hoping that the problem doesn't persist.

Also, when you play co-op online you both cannot enter a town together, you have to disconnect from online play to do enter a town.

Before anyone mauls me, I'm not complaining, just making observations and seeing if we are the only ones experiencing problems. I've also noticed frame rate drops but those stopped after I installed the game. I have the newest xbox and a 50 inch 1080p hi-def TV with hdmi cord for connector.

Edit- And no, I'm not attempting to play in 3D nor do I have a 3D TV.

Hmmm, dang, I'm getting FPS drops on my 360 version, I just played the first skirmish in Wei's Story and wow. I'm gonna try dropping my resolution to 720p rather than 1080 and see if that helps. My game is installed as well. If that doesn't work, I'll try the HDMI cable from my PS3 rather than the component cables, haha....

Dear, you are not the only one with this online problem.
Online is rubbish for DW7, but at least there is online mode to grind together.

Welp, I switched to HDMI and now the FPS is pretty good, it doesn't drop much anymore and it runs fairly smoothly. Looks a little too dark though, but that might just be my TV/settings.

I just read over the wiki again xD; is it true that u can't play as story mode characters unless u played with them in story mode? So if I wanted to play with Zhong Hui, I would have to beat the three story modes and then play Jin's story to unlock him o.o?

As for Jim's review of the game; the score he gave is a little more than what I gathered from the review itself. I got the impression that it was more like a 7/10;
I don't know, he sort of said best Musou game at nearly everything except taking the cheap way out on some features, if anything it sounded more like a 9 with points axed

As for kingdom modes ending: I have the feeling the "correct" sequence intends you to play Wu and Wei first, then bridge the gap to Jin with Shu (with Wei as the enemy later on) and then finish with Jin. It's not like Wei goes away (....pun not intended...) after Fan, they just stick around as enemies.

no, he can be unlocked from conquest mode, his legend hex is somewhere down the middle near zhuge liang if I remember correctly

Holy crap Lu Bu....I just totally fought him as Cao Cao and got absolutely destroyed, I kept hitting him and hitting them and he was getting whooped, then bam, he triggers his musou and I couldn't evade....Boom, gone in one hit XD He's tough and can't get staggered by normal attacks like someone said earlier, but he's vulnerable to ice element....

FPS is still sort of wonky, but I'm getting used to it, I wonder if the PS3 version performs any better, or better yet if this is something that can be resolved with a TU...it's not bad but it's not buttery smooth either, especially now that I switched to HDMI.

You can play Jin from the start.
The message only tells you that, if you do not play Wu Wei and Shu, the story MAY NOT MAKE SENSE to you.

All these FPS errors... My ps3 is not experiencing any of these errors at all.

Getting pwned by Lu Bu in one hit on hard is experienced though :XD
