SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Played few hours last night! Best Dynasty Warriors and action game ever! And I'm still not done with Wu story mode! Already a novel could be filled describing every awesome detail!!!!!!! I would play right now but the people in this place drive me crazy! I can't play anything in the morning or afternoon without them lecturing me even though they can't do anything, their words really interfere with the fun and they won't shut up!! >.< Maybe they will go out to some store soon. This is madness. I have it, but I can't relax without these people repeating their dumb lectures! It's not like I play 24 hours at a time! <.< There's still Wu to complete and 3 other stories to complete before focusing on Conquest mode!!! >.> Edited by saner, Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:40 pm.

Wow, was not expecting an to pull all-nighter on a school night (fail), but man that game is addicting! Surprisingly, I've been playing Conquest Mode, even though I was planning on starting out with Shu's Story Mode. Already unlocked some of the Lv. 7 weapons, got all of Zhao Yun's skills unlocked, and got Red Hare. But one thing I noticed is they pronounce characters' names differently now. With some names, like Sun Quan's and the Qiaos', they use Chinese suffixes, so now they pronounce it CH-uan and CH-iao. So I'm happy with that. But what kinda bugs me a little is how they pronounce their names with a flat 'A', so instead of Yu-AH-n, it's Yuan pronouncing the 'A' like 'Stan'. Kinda weird, especially for returning voice actors. And another thing that surprised me, was that some of the new voices, like Zhong Hui's and SSX's and Xing Cai's, I actually kinda either like or don't mind as much as I thought I would. So overall, I give the game a 10/10 so far. Maybe when I have more time, I'll probably start working on the Story Modes. EDIT: And to the Japanese voices being DLC, let me just say... Spoiler: click to toggle

T'sao T'sao not Xiao Xiao (which would be like Jow Jow technically I think) I'm very happy with the pronunciations, the "Doang Juaw" is kinda weird to get used to (We know him as "Dong Juoa") Zhuge Liang's is a tad weird though. Also having run around with 1 star in a weapon for awhile, I will safely say that anyone who whines about using low starred weapons can go die in a fire. Even on hard difficulties the interruption was noticeable but not near enough to ruin the weapon for me, and losing a single seal slot wasn't a set back when I finally did get the 3 star mastery. Also I've been playing Xu Huang (almost completed Conquest Mode with him entirely) using Dual Halberds (which are a three star after maxing his skills but 2 before) I don't miss his EX attack whatsoever. You are not restricted to EX's at all it seems. Edited by Shadowclaimer, Wed Mar 30, 2011 5:29 pm.

Levels 1-6 and 8-9 you obtain from drops or Weapon Hexes or Vendors. 7 is Special Weapon Hex 10 is Vendor (if you own 8-9 and have Smithing as a Skill [Zhuge Liang, Guo Huai, and someone else..]) You need so much fame to be able to see certain weapons on vendors, and you need to unlock more cities to see more weapon types. |

Ah that's right. Who is it on Wei then? Jia Xu? I thought each faction had at least one. Zhuge Liang for Shu Lu Meng for Wu - for Wei Guo Huai for Jin |

You should keep a pike on him anyway, as his EX buff can make him broken. |

I was checking out an english gameplay vid and noticed Ding Feng as a generic. What's wrong with that? Is Ding Feng still there in the english version? Is it another similarly named officer? Please enlighten me:) |

Yea it is, but he feels so much more natural with the Twin Axes imo. I use his alternate color scheme and run around murdering everything with the 7th Twin Axes.
Ding Feng had a younger brother named Ding Feng. He's a generic ingame. |

I either use a Pike for his secondary or Iron Fan (its got a nice area Crowd Control switch attack). I just love his second color scheme, looks like a true warrior monk. |

Yea I was just saying that people whining that you have to use an EX weapon are wrong. Besides the personality and the loss of an EX attack, you don't really lose out on much. Anyone found any really cool combos? I've been toying with some on Cao Cao and came up with an awesome one. I have a nice combo that begins with C1 (to break guard and stun), EX (to freeze/stop crowd), C3 full, after the C3 stun use C6 full and as soon as the second swing connects cancel into his Musou. Works best with a Dark Element as the full C3 and full C6 deal Elemental Damage. I'm toying with some using Twin Axes C3 grab swing into stun followed by C6 and Xu Huang's Alt Musou. |

Do you know whether Pang De is a generic or absent from the game? I haven't been able to get on much to see if this was discussed, but I am interested in knowing. |

Oddly enough, I haven't played through all of Wei's story mode yet.. But I can safely say after almost beating all of Conquest's stages I have yet to see Pang De as a generic. Its like they excluded him altogether. Which gives me some hope for DLC. |

Basically it branches. Tier 1 - Weapon 1 [Start with character, or buy from vendor on other) Tier 2 - Weapon 2 [Buy from Vendor, Drop from Officer, or obtain from Weapon Hex] Tier 3 - Weapon 3 [Buy, Drop, Hex] Tier 4 - Weapon 4 [Buy, Drop, Hex] Tier 5 - Weapon 5, Weapon 8 [Buy, Drop, Hex] Tier 6 - Weapon 6, Weapon 9 [Buy, Drop, Hex] Tier 7 - Weapon 7 [Special Weapon Hex], Weapon 10 [Buy - Smithing Skill], Weapon 11 [Special] As your fame goes up you can buy higher and higher tier weapons.
