Wow...This place gets more chaotic as the days go by...Reminds me of being stuck in the L.A. subway system with all the other crazies of the city xD I just think that if Koei is going to release more characters, they will be in the form of DLC. And you know why? Because people will actually buy it. And it will give Koei more profits, so they can produce more games. Think about it, guys. Giving out free costumes from previous games is one thing, but free characters? Yeah, be prepared to empty your wallets. Don't say I didn't warn you. |

I will ask again since no one answered and is just flooding this topic with "O boy this guy sucks and o boy this guy is fictional" posts. Does anyone know if the "ultimate" weapons are unlockable or just drops? |

I did answer a couple pages back. Just check my Weapons thread in the main directory for DW7 it says under Special Weapons. |

The secret character is Himiko who drives all the other characters out of China as the final boss. And Guan Suo fails at being an overly sexualized character to justify 2 wives. He's simply a pretty boy-king. |

Of course they're going to have DLC characters (Pang De most likely being one of them) They'd be stupid (from a buisiness standpoint) if they didn't have any. But that doesn't negate the chance that another character may be added. Even if the chance of this happening is super SUPER low lol. And as stated before, if anyone is getting really hyped up over speculation from an unnoficial source...it's their own fault

actually, they're not fictional, only their stories. Just sayin' ;D and also, Zhu Rong was fictional. She didn't exist historically, only in the novel, IIRC. Diao Chan is fictional, but based on a maid that Lu Bu had a relationship with. Xing Cai is also sometimes considered fictional, but Zhang fei did have daughters who married Liu Shan, she just represents them I suppose ^^ Da and Xiao Qiao's names are also fictional, but certainly not the ladies themselves. It's only because the historic names of the Qiao beauties were never recorded; Da and Xiao mean "elder" and "younger" I believe all the others are historic. So technically, you could say that only Bao and Zhu Rong are fictional

No as I said, all but name and even then. None of them were warriors save for Zhu Rong, and their personalities can't be known really. So technically they're all fictionally made up. Although you could say the same about most male characters, at least thier professions are right ;D |

its a game where all the characters are based on their novel counterparts. you can basically say that even their personalities are fictional as we will never knew how exactly their personalities were. Its a game people, not a historical documentary.

i prefer historical accuracy also. More or so, it looks like DW7 is heading towards that road with them showing Lady Mi at the battle of Chang Bang (besides the fictional event of Bao holding A Dou) and that some of the characters will die at tne time they died historically ect. I'm loving that the story will be more dramatic now, (Sun Quan covering Sun Shang Xiang's mouth and her showing a demented look.) |

You guys I only said that because someone mentioned Hua Man in a love triangle with those other two insignificant fictional adds, thats why I used the words useless because it was another love story. I didn't say fictional adds are bad,( though it was kinda implied)I said useless fictional adds, I'm fine with fictional characters as long as they don't have a generic silly love story or any boring generic story for that matter. You guys didn't have to go out on a tangent. Sorry.

My bad, I mentioned the Hua Man love triangle thing. I also mentioned Hua Man and Bao Sanniang mud-wrestling. I thought it was quite obvious that I was being sarcastic...

Yea I know you were, but some were really insisting that she be added. And that would only lead to said love triangle....... without the mud-wrestling sadly.

Hey guys, quick question on the 4 animals used to symbolize the 4 kingdoms: Jin - Horse Shu - Dragon Wei - Phoenix/Bird/Hawk (I am thinking Phoenix) Wu - Lion (possible QiLin/Kirin) They aren't fully the 4 lucky animals of China - which are Turtle, Dragon, Phoenix and QiLin) But it is worth pointing out that having a turtle isn't really a Warrior kind of thing. Any ideas as to why those animals represent the kingdoms? I can see Shu is dragon because of ZhuGe Liang, Wu is tiger because of the Sun family - somehow they are affiliated with tigerzz. Jin and Wei I don't know. Edited by iRiDiUM, Wed Feb 23, 2011 2:44 am.

Wei is referred to as a Phoenix because it is usually the opponent of the Dragon. By the way, Jin is also a Dragon as well. On the Story Mode screen on the Japanese website, I love how Jin is the largest, Shu next, then Wei, and finally Wu in terms of sizes of the circle. It just shows that they will be focusing up to the extermination of Shu, and probably half-ass Wu's conquest. Seriously, no one in China gives a flippin' about Wu. Think about legends and such. Have there ever been one about Wu (if there is, tell me!). And half of the time, Wu appears in Koei's games as a traitor that would backstab you most of the time (Sangokushi Koumeiden, great game) |

A phoenix is/was meant to represent high virtue, grace and royalty; so that might have something to do with Wei. No idea on Jin though.

Isn't the tiger the symbol for Wu instead? Since papa Jian is fond of Tigers. |

i think the Sun family is associated with tiger/lions because of their nicknames. in the novel Yuan Shu refers to Sun Jian as a tiger, and himself a wolf. dunno if that helps at all. |
