Chin stated that there will be no demo for DW7 which is irritating, I want a taster of the new gameplay!

Since it has been stated that DLC will mainly consist of costumes, stages and weapons, I don't think it is bad to expect some characters becoming unique for example, making Yue Ying's war spear return for her EX weapon

What about KOEI create weapon DLC that allows characters to have 2 EX weapons? This is just speculation but would it not therefore get rid of clones because they will need to make new weapons for the characters, so in theory we could see some old favourites return, for example, Sima Yis claws, Twin fans and the three sectioned staff. Thoughts?
Completely agree.

For the first pack I'd like to see:

Yue Ying (War spear)
Cao Ren (Buckler blade)
Da Qiao (Twin batons)
Sima Yi (Finger claws)
Ling Tong (the three-part shinobi from DW6E to differ him from Guan Suo)

I'm sure I'll think of some others in a mo too!

No DW6 did not have a demo, Strikefrce did though, which is probably why we are wanting a demo since it is part of the main series and since a spin off got a demo why not the main series?

Despite some people's thoughts I actually like ZHong Hui's VA, it has been annoying me from the start on who it reminds me of but it clicked, it reminds me of Skeletor from the He Man series haha

Thanks WuTiger123 :)
I don't think Zhong Hui's is voice bad either, I think it'll work well if he's getting portrayed as a arrogant backstabber. The fact that he's going to betray Deng Ai as well will probably make it easier for me to hate him ;)

So we do have clones after all. Well, it's not AS bad as DW6. Sorta reminds me of the PS2 DW days when the characters did have similar movesets but different charges and musous.
Waitso if there clones then it would mean all charge attacks are the same what do you mean here? I just didn't understand because they way the combat system is dies not seem like DW 2-5 but I might of missed something my friend.

Also all I can say is the replay value will be high but not as fun due to the one ex attack but it's enough to enjoy the game if you love repetiviness and watching the same Shiz over and over instead of utilizing different combos really just shorten the movesets and cloned them I could be wrong. Lol maybe because I'm not a "now" type person. I'm still digging the game but people aren't going to catch on to what I'm saying until they play the game. Though the reason I'm getting the game any way because they confirmed dlc weapons and other stuff so that's the positive side to this dumbazz simple minded clone idea.

Honestly, which of you really thought that they're going to have more or less unique charge attacks after the confirmation of Weapon categories?

If this was the case, weapon categories would be pointless. Every character could simply have an own "category". The only moves that are unique to characters are musou attacks and EX attacks. I'm glad that it has been finally confirmed.

And hey,62 characters with everyone having charge attacks unique to them after a (more or less) renewal of the movesets (yeah yeah,DW5 had 48 characters with unique charge attacks, but they've used the same movesets since DW2,so...)? No way.

I think it's a great improvement considering DW6. Too many Dao users for my taste, but with the announcement of DLC weapons,I think at least some of them might get unique movesets. And the characters at least have some unique moves, not like in DW6.

Thanks for the link NineSeven :)

According to the interview, kingdom modes have an epilogue written for the end.
"But I will do what we include, in speaking of the general public Kingdoms, but it is the climax around. Then on many cases is an epilogue written in the end. So I thought well let's draw after late Shino Mikuni."

Also each character has a specific element to them based on this:
"Attacks of this EX is available to all specific motion more than 60 military commanders. Just because different effects, such as ice and fire only, please by all means check each member"

The reason why the arm cannon & bowgun are weapons is explained:
"The rest from overseas, responded that there was prior work dull game. Therefore, his attention now to avoid playing too monotonous. To increase the variation of the play example, in addition to weapons and weapons gimmick. Committee appeared in the "experience crossbow gun" explained the Admit it, it looks like a machine gun"

I'm getting the Japanese copy (Japanese voices <3) from PlayAsia but it will only reach me around NA's release date

There is an artbook in the treasure box bundle, i hope someone scans it. The databook's release would be 29 March.

The fact that some characters are clones don't bother me. Like what another poster said before, Koei has done a great job considering they've had to build from scratch for a second time. For me, the ex attacks, musou's, and switchable weapons will be enough to make the characters feel unique to me.

With strikeforce, i always added a secondary weapon which i think suited the character and kept it the same. I will also do this for Dw7. E.g My Gan Ning will have a Chain & sickle with throwing knives, while my Jia Xu will have a Chain & sickle with a Rapier.

Clones were never my biggest worry for this game. My biggest worry was the kingdom mode, in that i didn't want a repeat of Dw4. But having a character limited to a certain stage put my mind at ease on that subject.

Bottom line, Dlc weapons or not, i'm still going to enjoy this game.
Rant over.

To be honest, they're not even "clones" because they have 3 attacks unique from every other character. The definition of clone is identical, so people can't really complain. While I'd love everyone to have their own EX weapon, I think it's asking too much. Koei have pulled out all of the stops for this game, lets wait and see.

I just laugh that people think that previous DW games didn't have any clones.

My God the 6-8 people that used swords in DW5 had almost similar movesets down to very minute charge attack variations.

Nobody is really a clone, in Dynasty Warriors 7.
Being a clone mean share exactly the same thing.
This is not the case since each character has 3 attacks specific to it.

Lu Meng and Zhang Liao had a very common moveset in 3-5 as well didn't they. I think it's the endless combos that made DW6 very boring, since you could hammer X all the way to hell. With the good ol' system back (and the EX attacks and double weapons), it'll be much different I think.

Im sorry, this "doing things from scratch" is a complete load of rubbish... The maps are used from dw6, the weapons are from 5 and 6 and by the looks of it, some of the normal basic string attacks are from dw6 (Zhao Yun's spear) It is far from doing things from scratch... -_-

You can't just import animations from DW4/5, the design aspect may exist but you still have to recreate them for the new models. The new models features dozens more bones which would make them have to be entirely reanimated.

Weapons as well.

There's a difference between reusing a design and reusing an asset. They have built DW7 from scratch based on earlier designs. Its still a game who's graphics have been constructed from scratch (maybe maps are the only thing not built from scratch since reusing them from DW6 would be more plausible)

The HD trailers of Jin and Wei are just beautiful. The graphics are really blowing me away this time.

Do you guys think that we will still have a true musou attack? The way the musous are now, I can't really see the need of one. Reason being, they seem just that powerful. ^_^
