I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but in some of the DW7 screenshots, some of the maps appear to be identicle to those used in DW6. For example: ![]() ![]() I've also seen screenshots of Guan Du and Chang Ban where the maps are almost identicle but with minor changes, and Xia Pi and Fan castle which were identicle to the DW6 maps (and I hated DW6 Fan Castle). Is anyone else slightly concerned about this? One thing I love about moving to the next generation of Dynasty Warriors is playing completely different maps, even for a scenario I've played since DW2. I know there are a number of new maps, I've seen the new Yellow turban rebellion map and a few others I cannot identify, but right now this is my only concern about DW7. |

They are reusing old maps, but It shouldn't be a huge problem. It would be nice to have new maps, but we do have plenty of new ones, and loads of extra content to make us forget that we've played these maps before. There is also future DLC stages to look forward to... so no need to worry about the few maps that were recycled. (unless in your opinion it is a game breaking discovery, I've seen quite a bit of these) KOEI seems to have changed them slightly, added to them, taken away, etc. Hu Lao Gate for example, I've only seen one part that was from DW6. |

The game does indeed use old maps. In some cases though, they make a new map that gets used in story mode, while the older maps from 6 show up in Chronicle Mode. For the most part its fine since the maps are updated and in some cases used for an entirely unrelated region. So we do get a balance of new maps and old maps which get updated with new elements or overall visual theme redo. My only complaint with the recycled maps is that they went and made swimming even more useless instead of keeping the scaling ability from Empires. A lot of the old stages as well as the new maps have a stupid fence running along the edges of water bodies making it so that you can't crawl out. Some stages like Chang Ban have also removed the water bodies entirely, though its fine for Chang Ban since you only had 1 way out. He Fei Castle on the other hand has removed the conveyor belt making the pool entirely pointless other than for visuals. Some waterways in the updated maps are also blocked off by rocks. Which can get glitchy when you jump a ledge to start swimming. I had Ding Feng glitching the hell out for about 10 seconds before the game forced him to respawn on the nearest patch of land. |

I'd rather they finally settle on one set of maps and build upon them rather than redesigning the same map every damn game. It really gets obnoxious that in my life I've played at least 5 different iterations of Hu Lao and Tong Gate, I'd rather have one they've selected and refined over 5 games. Then they can spend that time on other things, like new stages. |

I posted this list a while ago in my pinned topic. - There are a total of 37 unique maps in KM. - 14 are new and the rest are from DW6/6S/6E. - Additionally, there are 6 Maps exclusively used in CM (which are all from DW6, except possibly the Arena). Map List: Spoiler: click to toggle |
