Huh, I hit the 5000 mark. Wow. ---------------------------------------- So we take the heat for Koei's messups and suffer for it? Well that sure blows. I would say they dug their own grave, but considering their US sales make very little impact on their main target Japanese sales, that statement isn't applicable. Oh well. At least I still own the original SW3. And SWC is one of my must-buy titles when I get the 3DS. ---------------------------------------- To throw in my two cents on the whole Wii thing, I'll say that the Wii is good in its own right, and putting SW3 on it was fine except for ONE thing; multi-platform. The greedy jerk in me doesn't really care about Empires not making it over because I already have the regular SW3 anyway, but at the same time it stinks that we get the short end of the stick all because whoever was in charge of the games back at Koei HQ was obviously off his meds. Who's BRIGHT idea was it to start this chain of events anyway? ------------------------------------------- For Clan Mode starting points I forsee it as: Oda- Okehazama Toyotomi- Okehazama or Chugoku like Fuuma said Tokugawa- Okehazama (Imagawa side) Hojo- Kawagoe Mori- Itsukushima Takeda- Suruga-Sagami Uesugi- Kawagoe (Coalition side) or Odawara For the big three, the way I see it is that for the inter-connected stages, it's from each respective clans point of view (IE Anegawa, Oda you fight the Azai first, then the Asakura. Tokugawa, you fight the Asakura first, then the Azai). |

Are you serious? The stories in Koei's stuff is just a poorly tossed together retread of history with a bunch of bastardized historical figures, and those characters themselves are one note anime cliches. Koei's writing is not good. I dont know how you can even think Koei has written "great" stories or characters when you even attempt to analyze them objectively. Its also kind of hypocritical to judge someone for liking games about killing when all you do in the entirety of Warriors is kill (and quite frankly, you're lying to yourself if you deny the main draw of Koeis stuff isnt mowing down hundreds of peons). Id say you should use your brain, but then I remeber how awful this fanbase can be. |

Well the stories in SW3 was apparently utilised very well for a Koei game, and DW7's storyline wasn't too shabby itself (even though there are alot of issues in it). Koei isn't on Hideo Kojima's level (if they were the US would actually like the Warriors' series), but you have to admit, they are making a few strides in the right direction. Too bad they fell down the staircase again when it came to which console would main SW3.... and every decision since then involving SW.... On topic though, I hope each of the storyline's are more cohesive than DW's. I want some links to each story, and for everything to make sense. |

They meant well putting it on the wii, but making it exclusive was a total **** up. The SW team should have watched how DW does it, where the games are XB360, PS2 and PS3. I'd import it, but it's too dialogue and menu heavy, I'd never understand, even if it took me forever to learn Japanese. Still...I don't see how this is fair to us, just bring me the damned game. in English, please. ****, I'll take it even if it was in Spanish or French. |

Kojima's an awful writer too, unless you think plotholes, retcons, handwaves and parroting are good literary devices. |

@ Lady: It's probably easier than you're thinking. As long as it's just reading and not speaking, all it'd come down to is memorizing a couple hundred of characters. Yeah, that's a helluva lot more than in English and similar languages but with some patience it couldn't be too bad. ...But patience...

Ugh i had to learn Japanese in primary school. It took about 4 years and I STILL HAVEN'T GOTTEN THE HANG OF THE LANGUAGE. Maybe because I was too interested in the posters rather than the teacher but who cares hehehe. I hope there'll be more news on this game soon. I want to see how the castle maker will be utilised in Empire Mode. Oh and I hope they vastly improve the CAW Mode. Guess I'll be importing this.... |

What, is Koei scared that it'll sell horribly on other consoles? Just because SW3 did badly on the Wii doesn't necessarily mean it'll be the same for PS3 and Xbox 360. I'm really worried that Koei will no longer give us western fans any more Samurai Warriors games. That's just how it looks right now. |

I guess thats how it rolls MOST game companies know its too much a risk to make a game for just one consul. So they should have known to do it for all the consul's they would have made more than enough extra profit. But no since they made that obvious mistake they rather take it out on the rest of the world than make up for their mistake and do better.

I think, for Takeda, they should start with battle called "Conquest of Shinano" or something like that, since Shingen fought countless battles at that province to take control over it. Though if they plan to solely use the scenarios from SW3, then Suruga-Sagami would probably be Takeda's first scenario. Edited by Fūma, Fri Jun 10, 2011 10:42 am.

That would be ideal if it was like, just Takeda by themselves. But really, the only two in the game that represent them are Shingen and Sakon to an extent. As such I foresee the Sanada (Yuki and Kuno) being part of it as well and then post Honnoji it continues the story with the Sanada. |

Well yeah but if you want to get technical about it they're not full on Takeda retainers like say, Baba Nobufusa. |

Doku-gab-ryu you are right, but the only 3 things that gives me hopes of overseas release are:1st)A new generation in Empires series from both DW and SW 2ond)SW is KOEIS second best and 3rd) SWE series are better than DWE series so believe they shall release SW3E overseas because of those things KOEI hasnt lost me yet as a fan i still have some faith left for them. We will surely have an anounce betwen 20 of june and 15 of jully about the overseas release of SW3E and i realy hope theyl release it. |

who knows but i like samurais and nijas from a young age and when i found SW2/E i couldnt stop playing and now i realy hope they release SW3E. If they dont release it KOEI maybe still have me as a fan because of Bladestorm, DW and fist of the north star but my faith in them will not be the same if they dont release SW3E/Z/XL overseas.I know what will happen if they dont release it overseas. 1st stage) OMG no no no i realy want that one (at the same time KOEI is about to loose me as a fan or drop my faith in them prety low)2ond stage (after 5-10 mins) ) Life is good i am not going to destroy my good mod because of a game who cares. 3rd stage (probably the next day) ) Dont even give a point in that :p Even when my Xbox 360 destoyed after the RROD(basicaly i destory it ) i act as i always act you know the casual me.In other worlds i will not going to let stuf like consoles/games to destroy my day and the days to come.Glad to see one here is almost like me here doku-gan-ryu i though i was alone in this world like this. |

SW4 could be the chance, to make the series a bit popular again here in the west. If they make it at least as good like DW7. I mean, DW7 hit the Top 10 in UK's Top 40-list for the first time. That gave DW-Games somehow a guarantee for overseas-release. And that is a good attitude you have there, Themis95. |

True Themis95 back when I just had PS2 and it stopped working I didn't have the money (Lost a part too) to get it fixed. So I just started using the PC when I'm not busy with Sports, School, and Friends.

At first I was very mad to hear it would not be getting an overseas release, but now, I'm more sad. If a translation guide comes out, I'll import it but until then, I'm just going to have to settle for the other two Empires games I own. However, the reason behind Koei's decision is dumb. Not a single Musou had been out on a Nintendo home console before- What would make them think it would sell in America, when Warriors fans would expect it out on PS3 or 360? Hopefully they'll wise up for SW4, IF they even release SW4 stateside. :\ |

I hope this is not the future of the Empire games. The Empire games is what I wait for. At least I can change history with Empries. The main game has a set history and we know it. Empires allows us to change that with any character. If it is about money, why do they release so many games that are not going to make money west. Why can't they just release DW and SW Worldwide and release the other games in Japan. If they make a profit, then release one of the other games to the west. I will only buy SW, DW, and OW. I don't care about the other games. Sorry. Does anyone know if DW 7 empries will be release overseas? After SW3E, I have the feeling DW7E will only be released in Japan. I started with DW4 and purchased every other Warrior game, expansions included. I think I would walk away if they are going to keep their Warrior games in Japan. I just don't have time to play games as I use too. It is just the Warrior games and Dragon Age I play now. Sorry for the rant or complaining. I was so waiting for this. I thought this was how they were going to make up to the Western customers that could not get SW3. Edited by SES4skc7, Sat Jun 11, 2011 1:00 am.
