'OMG I hate koei, theyre just crap they dont no what there doing!'

Well If I was Koei, what is the point of making an effort of selling this game too around 500 - 1000 people. and Tbh, I don't think Koei cares if they lose some fans here, afterall theyre based in Japan. If people want to play this, learn Japanese and import it, if you can't import it, well that's a damn shame, just wait for the next Samurai Warriors.

Not necessarily. I think importing shows them that western fans are still interested in their games. I am disappointed with their decision, but at least I'll help them get out of their financial fix by buying their stuff.

I am afraid it isnt as simple as that. To make that move to show them that we are intrest in their game it will require at least 5000-10000 imports and the chances are realy low because they will think <<Are they dumps? Why to spend money to release the SW3Z/E overseas when these guys import the game?>>So you will show them that they dont need to release the game oversea (so they will not have to spend money) to buy it.They decide their own "doom" with their move, now they will not earn much money and they will loose many fans, and if a company loose fans its like a pirate captain looses his treasure (as i said many days ago).If they realy think that we are fanatics and wait for us to import it then the least they can do is to add english subs for the fans to understand what they are saying.

Is it even possible to tell that fans import a game, and if so, how many? Most people who import don't exactly buy direct from Koei or something, many go through places like Play-Asia, and I don't believe Koei would be able to track the sales from that.

I personally don't see a problem with importing SW3Z or Empires; if it's already set in stone that we're not going to get it, it won't affect possible localisation either way. It's better than pirating it.

It's a double edged sword. While they will look at the amount of Western fans that are willing to import, they'll also expect those people to keep importing every time they chose not to localize it. Why localize it when the fans are willing to import?

It can go either way. In this case, I just don't have the financial means or patience to guess what's going on to be bothered with importing. It's not worth an additional $20-$40 through Play-Asia or Yes-Asia. I'll try ebay, but I have a feeling they'll jack up the prices too.

Does Koei even get a percentage from people who import from Play-Asia or any third party site like it?

Doubtful. For all we know, they could just assume that we don't import at all.

The problem with importing a game like Empires, is that the game is far more text based than the other ones. I mean with all the diplomatic, territorial and stratigic moves you would be making to control the land, it's not as simple as do mission-kill people-kill main general.

You have to know what you're doing, and with it being in another language, you'd probably be screwed if you press the wrong thing.

Pretty much every Koei game is rated ESRB T/PEGI 12/CERO B, so shouldn't that be expected really? It'd be nice if they didn't flame everyone that disagrees with them and call us all trolls though

Ah true the only game in the series where its more about Politics than the front lines of conflict. Look at it this way KOEI is Nobunaga Oda and were nothing but a sacrifice they could care less about. :/

I don't remember their being double agenting in Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires.
At some point I think it was Cao Cao who asked me to defect, I said no, and the game said I crumpled up the paper and threw it away, only for Zhuge Liang to walk in, pick it up, and suggest I play the mole.
That only happens in DW5:XL when you play Destiny mode as a officer who goes through the ranks with a player character as their leader. You could if you impressed a officer get a invite and if you declined, the strategist on your side would give you the offer to double cross them by doing one battle, then in the next lay the trap on them. If the trap failed you stayed on the side you "pretend" defected to -_- I think it was one of the best modes in DW history  , even if it was very hard and annoying in how you had to earn nearly everything.

Huh confusing but cool and even more life like in SW4 they should do more than story mode, Free mode and the basic modes that are best with Multiplayer. But nothing like the Demons and Castle's mode. :/

Urgh tell me about it murasame Castle is a bloody nightmare of a mode. 'Fight even bigger armies with permanent Strikeforce-like improvements who are about x4 more powerful, and guess what? THERE IS A GIANT MONSTER AT THE END ABOUT x3 OUR SIZE :OMG: !!!'. I mean come on Koei, when we said we wanted something more challenging I think this just takes the biscuit.

So I finally caught up...

I had figured that it was about them making SM3 on the Wii before Jsun even posted the summary.

And certain people in this thread seriously make me wonder how old they are...
????

Make you wonder how old they are? Everyone complains. People are paying customer (Koei games), they have the right to complain. Most message boards are people complaining. Go look at Sports message boards.

To the people who want to import Koei games, how is that going to help us get games in the West? You are making their decision easier to not sell it overseas.

It is all about the money, Koei is no different. It sucks, because this is the game I really wanted.

It is what it is I guess.

I never said people didn't have the right to complain. It's when people call anyone who disagrees with them trolls and are quick to ignore people. I won't bother going any further with this.

I do agree that it is Koei's fault for putting it on the Wii to begin with since as soon as I had a feeling it wouldn't come over since the core game and XL was never released on those systems, so it would be stupid to bring Empires overseas.

Koei made a risky move and it didn't pay off. And now we're all paying the price.

Still haven't recovered from E3 and I'm currently moving, so I haven't had time to change anything on the site or post the interview. I might post up just the important facts like I did last year instead of all the questions I asked, so it isn't too ridiculous to read.

FYI for those people who have been ranting and complaining up a storm. I was told that SW3: Empires wasn't planned for an overseas release, BUT I was also told that things could always change. "Never say never." So there is a chance of hope it may come overseas, but it's all up to KOEI Japan on that one. They could just be trolling us until SW3: Empires releases in Japan to see if it is even worth repackaging based on the sales there. They do that sometimes if they think a game won't sell well in the west.

Who knows what will happen.

No you should take your time, rest, move, etc etc. And when you're sure you're 100% fine then you can update the site. Health comes first you know :)

And thanks for the clarification :) If your intention was to shut people up, you've done a fine job :D :P

Just a question though, is the castle creator going to be apart of Empire mode or is it just a seperat mode by itself that's like the sims where you build things and look after people and essentially act as God?

I think I will just beat everyone to the punch and say that this right here, is like a new ray light of hope. Hopefully, this will get people to settle down instead of jumping the gun too early... then again, it appears that it's already too late for that.... :kurokan:
