The only reason Z never made it overseas is because Koei never releases games under the Special/Z banner in the us/uk, and it never has
Then what do you call that DW6 PS2 release then? That was under the "Special" banner.

I thought it's been established that 3Z/XL never made it over because of massive tanking of its sales in western territories, not just relating to SW.

see above post. Also sw3 tanked globally, only when sw3z on ps3 in japan came out did the sales numbers get ok, yet all other warriors games still sell well...

And if it only related to the title, they would then get out of the 3: Xtreme Legends. These are the same games, but the title was changed. This should be enough, as you say it's the only reason that 3:Z was not released in overseas.

I know that this won't make it overseas on 360 but if it did it better be an upgraded SW2 Empires and not another DW6 Fail of an Empires, i really don't know how they called that empires, please koei don't follow dynasy warriors in that direction (DW7 should listen to this too)

Since SW2E had new playable characters, hopefully this one will have all the removed characters from the previous 2 games and maybe 1 new character :D
Samurai Warriors 2: Empires didn't have new characters. It was Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends. So don't certainly expect new characters to be added into it. (Although I'd like to at least see the return of Musashi and Sasaki).
I said new 'playable' characters, so Korijo and Shibata were new to play with, but yeah agreed Def want to see Musashi back!!!

Yes, but that's because Samurai Warriors 2: Empires was released before Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends. We could therefore indeed be considered Musashi and Sasaki as "new" characters. That said, there, Samurai Warriors 3: Xtreme Legends was released before Samurai Warriors 3: Empires, and therefore, the "new" characters (Aya and Masanori) are already playable. They may add Musashi and Sasaki, since this game has no personal story for the characters. But hey, I do not expect too much about it.

I can just imagine the amount of fanrage when its announced that it comes overseas...but doesn't have a 360 release. It's times like these that make me remember that Japan doesn't give a crap about the 360.

Hopefully, like DW7, it'll also be 360 for the western audiences. Heck I just hope that Koei will throw a bone for those few who actually got the Wii version in the first place. They, after all, did with 3Z.

I'm glad that they announced a new Empires game, but seriously Koei if this goes over seas then that would be retarted because we have no XL/Z, but only the game for the Wii. However, i'm all for the Xbox 360 version :P

Oh Empires? Cool I guess.

This has to be like, the first Warriors game I dont care if it is released overseas or not, but if it does, sure I'll take a 360 port of it.

Not excited or hyped about it in the slightest tho, never got to play the main game in the first place anyways.

That is precisely the reason why we are hoping for an over seas release. XBOX and microsoft has ruined the gaming world just for money. Maybe Koei will hear our cries for help? If it is released outside Japan at least ps3(us/uk) will get some kinda ver. of SM3/SW3. Ever since DW5 was released on Xbox ver.1, PS owners have been getting the short end, damit screw XBOX stupid HD disc use the large bluray return to the old dayz when we got every musou port. XBOX RUINED THE WARRIORS AND RPGS OVERSEAS. when it was sega nintendo and sony they ported now we lose out on epic games. THANK U FOR F*ING UP GAMING XBOX AND MICROSOFT FOR UR GREEDY NEEDS. BTW if anyone wants to attack me i own(ed) a psx ps2 ps3 psp pspgo, xbox xbox360, nintendo64 nintendo advance/ds, sega genesis sega saturn sega dreamcast. Yes i take gaming seriously but i take the musou series even more serious as i own almost all of them none rented or sold. i have a life job and 3yrold girl. so i know what im talking about children under 21

Not sure, but could they add new characters to empires? They added Musashi and Katsuie in Sw2E but their moveset weren't that special

-(Cause of DW7 ^^)Don't remember, were there any different looking NPC in SW3?

As has been said, the only unique NPCs in SW3 were Aya and Masanori. They were made unique, playable characters in SW3Z/XL so that step has already been handled.
In any case, I'm hoping for a Western release. I've been a fan of the Empire games but haven't got one since DW5E so it should be good to get back into it.

@Lord Mitsunari Ishida - Slow it down on the vitriol, please. There really isn't a reason for the rant and it's completely irrelevant. Please stick to the discussion at hand.
Thanks.

Why is "Empires" written in English on the poster? Is that how they do it in Japan?

Yes. It is written "Empires" below the main title, even in Japan.

Yay, I can't wait for this game. Hopefully this is released outsides Japan also for 360. Musashi and Kojiro (or at least Musashi) must return to this game! If Gracia came back then why can't those two?

They could be added as they don't even need a personal story to be integrated into the game, yes. Anyway, as I said before, I don't too hopeful about the fact that they will be added (and add only one of the two would be weird). At least, I hope their return in Samurai Warriors 4.

I don't think they'd waste new characters for an Empires title. Katsuie and Kojiro were barely exceptions, as they were just a mixture of movesets, and every NPC was playable anyway. So no, I highly doubt we'll see any new characters (except Aya, Masanori, and Gracia. All of whom you can play in SWC anyway).

KOEI-TECMO is a giant corporation, not a five-year old toddler. It has no reason to not release a product just because of the name(Which they can change anyway). They didn't release Z/XL in the west because they probaly didn't expect large enough sales. Take in mind that Warriors games have never sold well in the west, so they really weren't expecting a lot. Honestly, I think it's pretty amazing we continued to receive Warriors games in the west even after constantly poor sales.

That said, this will not release here. It's highly unlikely. That April Fool's joke wasn't so off after all.

Everyone is forgetting that Z/XL is the SAME THING as SW3 but with some more content. That's also why WOZ didn't come overseas. Koei doesn't want to take the risk anymore of localizing a game people besides us probably won't buy when it's already on another system. (I'm phrasing this horribly, but maybe you guys will see where I'm going with that.)

I don't see why everyone's worrying about this not coming overseas...?
Regardless, here's hoping we have that friend system from DW6, and the moving/breathing models rather than heads, and, uuuuh... that's all I really want. It's nice to get a personal touch, so, yeah. (SW2 was pretty much the best Empires for me, so they don't need to change much.)

I already knew about this for some time now, but no one ever pays attention to me and my valuable info... I really hope to see Miyamoto Musashi, Sasaki Kojiro, Ishikawa Goemon (Revamped) and Honganji Kennyo to make a return, and I think it's very possible this time.

BTW, I made a petition for a Oversea Release of SW3 Z/XL and Empires! Please sign it! http://www.PetitionOnline.com/SW3ZXLE/petition.html
