They didn't choose to do it just for the Wii it was when they put in the Demons and Castles mode which was a Nintendo 64 game that Nintendo made it for the Wii. So the Demons and Castles mode was bad but it was Nintendo's fault it ended up Wii only for us. :)
You do realize they could've easily made it for PS3 and Xbox if they just took that mode out. In fact, they did. It's far more likely that some publishing clause crept in forcing them to let the western release be Nintendo exclusive - I wonder what those contracts say about the publisher not promoting the game and almost intentionally dooming it to failure...

I know I know it would have been so much better without the Demons and Castles mode and I'm sure it was.

I really hope SW4 does NOT overcrowd the cast like DW7 did. I don't want clones in this series. Around 45 should be fine to keep everyone unique.

On topic, I wonder when we get news on how the faction story mode in this game works?

Samurai Warriors 4 will certainly be the first "Next Gen" Samurai Warriors.
I only "PRAY" !!! Ahh, I really don't expect an announcement of SW4 by the end of this year though. "MAYBE" by at the end of next year. But 2013 is safe to assume for sure. (:
Thats a bit long for announcement, besides Kazuma said good news later this year so probably Koei would show something in Japan like they did with SW3.

I would like SW to be a next gen game like DW6 and 7 BUT I don't won't them to change the system like they did with DW6. They would ruin the SW feel.

I disagree. Change can be good if you can do it right. In DW6 they ran out of time so there ended up being lots of clones, but if they take take with SW4 it might turn out to be very good (changing the gameplay system BUT not make it one-button mashing like Renbu).

SW3 hardly changed gameplay so I don't even regret not buying it.

Thats what I'm afraid of. Knowing Koei's laziness that they might actually do it like DW6. -_-

They will change the system of Samurai Warriors 4. The former is now too old, we need revival for the series. I just hope they will take time to develop each character. I think I die if each character in Samurai Warriors 4 are cloned characters.

If they change the system and make it like DW6 it will be messed up. SW games were pure hack n slash and if they do it like DW6 it will get messed up. And since SW doesn't have allot of characters compared to DW it is possible to keep everyone unique :P

Yup. I hope they DO NOT add too many characters. DW7 had way too many new faces to make everyone unique and have a part in the story.

I agree too. Between 8-10 new characters would be sufficient. (Samurai Warriors 3 had 9 new characters + the return of Kunoichi and Gracia in Samurai Warriors 3: Z/Xtreme Legends). So, yeah. 8-10 new characters for Samurai Warriors 4 + the return of Musashi and Kojiro.

Actually SW3 had only 7 new. But I hope too that Musashi (and possibly Kojiro too) returns.

Where did bandana go?
[ * * * * * * * * * * ]
- M. Maeda
- Okatsu
- Matsunaga\Saito\Asakura (need at least one new daimyo)
- Ii\Hosokawa\N.Sanada
- Otani\Ukita\Konishi
- Honganji
- Sorin

Swordsmen should be back. About Goemon... well actually there are better choices, but he deserve spot in my opinion. Since in SW series all characters are unique it is difficult to make 15-16 new characters for each installments. I agreed with Fantaji, 8 newcomers (including unpc) + 3 cut are more than enough for SW4. I like SW series even more than DW one, because everyone here is unique. Well that`s great. Keep that system further, Koel and I`ll be pleased... but next time make game for Xbox360 at least.

I wouldn't be surprised if Musashi and Kojiro wouldn't return as they didn't do much in war not in history.

I hope Honganji to return though but he wouldn't have a Story mode though knowing koei but Magoichi should have a better story if Honganji returns not a Date errand boy.

I would like to see at least 1 Date general (Shigezane or Kojuro) I don't like Magoichi being a Date officer.

Yup, but I also counted Aya and Masanori, even if they are playable only in Samurai Warriors 3: Z/Xtreme Legends.

For new characters, I hope they will make good and varied choices. We can be certain that two new female characters will be added and I will say that one of them will be Maeda Matsu. (This is the obvious choice as new female character).

I just hope there will be NO individual story system. Something similar to DW7 would be great, maybe one gigantic story which covers the entire Sengoku era. That way there would be no repetition in stages which has been a major problem in all three.

No! Just No! it will be ruined like DW7 Dx
They would leave allot of characters out like DW7.
Koei should leave that when they reach allot of characters in the series like around the characters that DW has.

In my honest opinion, I found kingdom mode to be better as the individual stories. Look at DW cast it's already 60+ characters now and if they had individual stories their would be no doubt that more than half of them would be lackluster. With the kingdom mode you can only have 4 stories (well depending how many kingdoms or in Samurai Warriors's case clans there is) which all of them would be better or at least decent. Quality > Quantity

Therefore, I hope SW4 will follow DW7 path.

Indivisual stories is what ruined DW 4/DW7! Horrible Idea! If each character get their own story, I'll probably like SW4 A LOT more than DW7.

Well you do know that SW doesn't have the same amount of characters like DW right? :P

In my opinion they should leave it out when they reach about 60 characters. Besides in SW3Z every character got a story in the end.

But... many of stories were repetitive and it was the same for the stages. Personally, I think a big story or a story by clan would be a better idea. We will have an overview with Samurai Warriors 3: Empires, the Story Mode by clan might be good.

But Free mode would be ruined. if they make it like clan mode well at least we'd have some clans not 3 like DW7.

Yup. For example, the Oda could have a Story Mode by clan, same with the Tokugawa, etc. But for some characters as perhaps Okuni and Magoichi, they may have a personal story.
