Announcement of what? Didn't they already say this game is not gonna come overseas.

If you mean a possible SW4, then I don't really think so. Maybe next year.

Samurai Warriors 4 announced this year to the Tokyo Game Show? I doubt it strongly. I rather think it will be announced early next year, and could emerge perhaps between 2012-2013.

I agree, too soon. Not that I'd get excited anyway- Koei would only seek to shatter that hope.

I recognize Luis Frois, William Adams aka. Miura Anjin (First European to become a Samurai), Tokugawa Hidetada (Thank you Muramasa the Demon Blade), Mochizuki Chiyome and Yasuke (First non-Japanese samurai) as well as a few other names on the list but who is Li Rusong, Kikuhime, Komahime, Asahihime?

A brief summary;

Li Rusong was a Ming General of Korean descent who fought against Japanese invasion troops sent by Hideyoshi. Considered a successful general and merciful person, ordered both the Ming and Korean army not to kill Japanese soldiers soon after retaking Hanyang, but instead allowed them to retreat. He died to a Mongolian invasion in 1598.

He nor the Korean campaign will most likely never be featured in a Koei/Musou game because the topic is still taboo.

The rest you listed, I haven't heard of.

Koei, announce the game whenever you want, but actually use a lot of time developing and making it this time. SW3 felt sort of rushed, with the lack of new concepts and ideas.

Personally, even if I want Samurai Warriors 4, It's not for now. I hope they will make a real Samurai Warriors Next-Gen and they will change the gameplay and characters moveset. I prefer they take their time to develop each character instead of rushing for at the end, half shares the same moveset.

I doubt something like SW4 would be announced this early. As awesome as a new installment sounds, I think it best if that were announced at another time.

I have no clue as to what Koei will do for this year's TGS, but IF it was SW4 then I'll be super surprised.

Itll most likely be a teaser though... I think. Does Koei even plan on announcing anything at TGS?

Man I hope its SW4. And if they do happen to announce it, god i just hope that it will first of all come overseas, and second of all, be a worthwhile game that steps up in all aspects. I mean that this game should be next gen with new characters, stories and movesets.

The major problem with the SW series right now is that as Xalfrea stated it needs to take the next big step that the DW series did with DW7. SW3 felt watered down compared to previous SW games and did not have anything creative with it. I just hope that SW3:Empires will be good.

I rather have SW4 be announced in 2012 or 2013 or maybe in 2014 (to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Samurai Warriors?)

Second'd.

More on topic, why is there basically no news regarding SW3E? I only recall
  • it's being released
  • it's being released, only in Japan
  • it has customizable castles, regular, and fully-custom characters
  • there's like one or two different modes that are new

In contrast, it seems like there's another bit about DW7XL every week :/

Probably coz people stopped caring about it, since it won't be released elsewhere.

Or that's all there is to say about SW3E til the game's sale date.

I'd say KOEi is hiding some things from us. Maybe there will be a surprise element in the game which is not announced.

But honestly, do people care about the game if it's not going to be released in English overseas? YOu could argue about Multi Raid 2 or Musou Orochi Z but...oh well.

I think of it in the spirit that it's Koei: they will take features from the game at random and throw them into future games. Otherwise I'd have no interest in this game I'll never be playing :hehe: Posted Image :hehe:

Yeah, but those were kind of like the first two strikes. This is the third... after awhile, you just sort of stop caring. At least I did. :/

Looks like a damn good game, too... if I was rich and knew a lick of Japanese I'd import it, but I have school and a surgery to save up for. Fixing my torn rotator cuff is more important than conquering Japan, one province at a time.

Agreed. I stopped caring about this game and also DW7XL (which supposedly by now we got an answer if it's coming here or not)
And actually this is the 4th game (SW3Z)
Now I'm either gonna buy SW2 and SW2E on the 360 (if I find of course)
or buy another PS2.
Koei makes good games but they suck on how they release them and on what consoles and where to release.

On Topic:
When is this going to be released? sometime this month right?

Meh...honestly I'm of the same general opinion as some of the other posters here, I kind of don't care anymore.

normally I'd be excited about this reveal, but after being burned over Xtreme Legends not making it overseas I'm done, just...yeah not going to bother hoping for an overseas release on Empires. this whole mess with the previous cancellations makes me really wonder if Koei's slowly giving up on their fanbase outside of Japan, at least as far as Samurai Warriors fans go.

and even if Empires does make it over here, I'd feel something would be missing without playing XL too. :/
Sorry for being depressing, but that's just my thoughts on it.

I've been reading on several things about Sw3z not coming to america and whatnot and it's QUITE depressing lol. I mean i've been a loyal fan of both SW and DW for a long time and i am greatful for Koei giving us as much as they did but this is still depressing. I've finished all the Sw games (1 being my fav) And the two orochi's that we got and have had my hopes up for third releases on BOTH of those, Mainly SW. I just wish Koei realizes if these don't come a LOT of there fans overseas are gonna feel like the poor takeda troops under katsuyori in the battle of nagashino. SHOT down.

Just to let you guys know, the site got updated with the rest of the stories. I personally think the graphics got taken down a notch compared to SW3Z's, but it might be just me lol. The CG artworks in the character selection screen are gorgeous btw. :)
