100% correct. Edit: Found the first movie. The first movie is the funeral ceremony of Nobunaga Oda's father. The story is: he went into the funeral with his pajamas but in this game he is still wearing his famous armor. It is a new movie, I have never seen this before. Found this in Nobunaga Oda's history mode (Story mode). Edited by Oreadia, Sat Aug 27, 2011 11:08 am.

Oh wow. Like are you restricted into attack certain forces in this mode rather than attacking anyone you want? The information you've relayed to us has been much appreciated Oreadia Your the best ![]() Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KgMnaDNULI Found another gameplay video Edit 2: So Story Mode is a more linear version of the tutorial in Nobunaga's Ambition Iron Triangle? On the missons (specifically the engaging enemies one), can you choose to attack other forces, or can you only choose to attack that one force the mission dictates you obliterate? So Free Mode is basically Empire MOde from past games, while History Mode is where the Story's at? |

That's correct. History is story mode. Story mode (atm from what I have discovered... and I haven't clear any chapters yet.) is only for the leaders. Such as Date Musamune, Nobunaga Oda, Shingen, Kenshin etc. I have completed a empires mode (Free mode) and it appears that what you obtain from previous games are kept. All weapons, horses and equipments. I have played as Aya and I am not to the story part where Gracia so I do not know but more than likely yes you're allowed. You get to recruit anybody you like but please watch your wallet, haha~ |

Almost finished my first Empires mode as the Saitou clan. Here are some first impressions, some may be repeated information. -You can choose any unique officer in your clan to be a sort of "Narrator". I initially set mine to Nobunaga. At some point I left the controller for a minute or so because I was looking up some kanji and Nobunaga says his famous kumquat-head line Not sure if other characters insult you when you take too long, but it seems likely. Nobunaga also laughs when you lose. -like other Empires games, you can change the music mid battle. Unfortunately it seems to be limited to SW3 music, unless SW1/2 music is unlockable or, cross your fingers, DLC. -So far it seems VERY easy to capture officers. When you eliminate the clan you almost always get to decide the fate of every officer. Maybe this gets harder with difficulty levels though? -If your army outnumbers the enemy by enough you'll decrease the difficulty of the stage (measured in stars). Conversely, if the enemy outnumbers you by enough then the difficulty of the stage increases. -managing your castle town feels pretty similar to Nobunaga's Ambition (which I've never been particularly good at..). Around 5 more provinces to conquer and my net income per round is something like -2500 I'm going to need to look up tips on how to manage the castle town properly...-Base system is VERY similar to Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3. Some very obvious parallels, all of which have the same functionality: (SW3E on left, DWG3 on right) --Cannon Base = Missile Base --Supply Base = Mobile Suits Factory --Bird Base = Catapult --Main Camp = Home Base (enemy commander appears when morale reaches 0, you lose outright if yours is taken) --Signal Flare Tower (?) = Communications Base With possibly more that I haven't discovered yet. There are a few other base types in SW3E, here are the ones listed on the wiki: 1) Drum base - player becomes stronger against enemy soldiers (officers excluded) (sort of similar to Newtype base..?) 2) Prayer Shrine - stops enemy advance temporarily (?), also musou gauge continuously recovers (pretty fast, as well) (vague similarity to In addition to regular, do-nothing bases of course. I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one other type that isn't listed on the Wiki, though I don't know what it does. -due to new base types, especially the supply base, it is not always possible to order your army to defend and be almost guaranteed victory like it was in SW2E. Enemy morale recovers fast enough to keep the enemy coming for a while unless you're defeating officers left and right. This makes it much more strategic to plan which bases you grab first (and on top of that, the new level system helps to encourage you to capture smaller bases rather than just go for the great ones right off the bat like in DWG3) -Not so important, but something I found kind of amusing. So far the only character I've come across with 5-star attack and 5-star defence is Shingen. Even the likes of Keiji, Kenshin, Katsuie, etc. have something like 5-star attack and 3/4-star defence. It also seems much easier to come across characters with 5-star defence than attack And now for the bad... -can't order individual officers to perform specific tasks -formations from SW2E are gone -regional scenarios have been completely replaced by History Mode. This means you won't be able to go into a scenario and choose to play a regional conquest for the likes of the Ootomo, Saika, etc. Unless it's unlockable -according to the wiki there is no way to change which officers belong to which clan, even after beating Empires mode. This is a huge letdown for me if true, as this was a huge time sink forme in SW2E. Hopefully in the fictional scenario you can still do this... A little long winded, but hopefully some of that is new information to someone. |

I do not know either, need to research more. Though from what I see it, it appears to the amount of areas you have obtained. Level 1 is weakest and level 5 is strongest. I played Empires mode (Free mode) the other day as Nobunaga Oda and I completed it with a level 5 castle. It appears to be impossible to get a level 5 castle with history mode (Story Mode) due to a limited amount of stages you get to play there. What I can say is, the empires mode ending really disappoints me. The best thing about Empires mode is it's endings and that you can edit your characters and stuff like that to make your own cool ending. However this have been stripped or I have not unlocked it yet. The ending of empires mode is just people (5?) talking to you and saying things you do not even understand (Since I do not speak Japanese! XD). I hope I am wrong. |

Endings have always been like that in SW Empires games. They tell you "so-and-so was promoted to this or that position and did this or that after the war." |

Yeah, I don't mind the ending. It's not the best ever, but it's far from the most disappointing aspect. No, the most disappointing is definitely the lack of a fictional scenario/the ability to reorganize clans before starting a game. From the looks of things so far, at least Anyway, just finished Nobunaga's history and... Spoiler: click to toggle

Thanks guys for the continuous updates of information You people are the best ![]() So there's no fictional scenario anymore? That sucks. Majorly. Why is it that Koei always take a few steps back, even when they make excellent additions to the franchise? ![]() Edit: @Divine Justice, wait, you mean there weren't that many interactions between say Noh, Oichi, Katsuie, Mitsuhide, Hideyoshi, etc? Well.... ok then....

Don't get angry yet. Remember DW5 Empires? You only have one scenario to start off and you have no customize scenario yet then until you complete more scenarios. Well this SEEMS to be like that too. The first scenario you get is (I don't know the name) Nobunaga rises and he allied with Tokugawa and slaying the clown (forgot his name). After I complete the first scenario I get two more scenarios. Honojii and the battle of west and east (The main story of Sengoku Basara 3). I have not complete any of these scenarios yet due to busy with work and personal life. Now... there is a chance for customize after you complete all of the scenarios in the Empires (Free) mode... Oh btw, if you create your own characters they will appear in the city you start. You can find them all and have them joining your faction from the very beginning of your empires mode. Edit: There is a limited interaction between players in the story mode (History) but if you play empires mode (Free) you will get a lot more interactions. I saw a funny interaction with Noh and Oichi in the Hotspring bathroom and they talk about girls things. Such as: husbands etc. There is even another interaction with Hanzo, Shimazu and Oichi's second husband, what's his name? They talk about who's more devil etc. They just come randomly depends on what kind of characters you have in your clan. Edited by Oreadia, Mon Aug 29, 2011 10:24 am.

In empires mode, every city has an amount of (max 8) officers waiting to be recruited. Both you and your enemies can do that. Your created officers will appear in the city you take control of. I have only tested this with the Sanada clan and Sanada clan only controls 1 castle. They do not join your clan straight away but they will be in the city you take control of. I have not tested if they will go away. I know that if you do not recruit them then there is a chance this officer will go into your enemy's clan. I saw Shingen joining Kenshin's clan. However in order to begin your search you will first have to have a special building. This special building helps you to perform general modification such as move, recruit, hire and fire. You have 3 choices for your created officers and they do never go 5 stars on both options. 1. Normal 2. Speed 3. Power I have tested with Normal and it gives me 4 stars on attack and 5 stars on defence. This means no matter how weak the original character is, if you put it in as a Created officer, it will be stronger than the original. Edited by Oreadia, Mon Aug 29, 2011 10:35 am.
