Thanks Xalfrea. Top-10 seems close to reality (at least first three).

I believe a reason was stated before, but I don't remember where. Judging from Yoshitsugu's story, my guess is that they wanted to see how the sickly Yoshitsugu would be portrayed in SW, probably after his portrayal in Sengoku Basara made him out to be a total psycho that laughs at the misfortune of others (except for, of course, Mitsunari).

Are the people there also plays basara??? That they wanted how koei potrays him in SW?Since they disappointed about capcom's potrayal of him?

Otani is also popular because he's one of the shining examples of a virtuous and truly loyal samurai(like Yamanaka Shikanosuke or Kusunoki Masashige.)

Lots of people were pissed at Capcom's portrayal of him being so evil and amoral.

Well, Capcom always was on Ieyasu's side. I mean, look at Mitsunari in Onimusha:

What`s heck? Horns? I tought he wield double-spear, but nothing similar to it. He`s quite typical, don`t think Koei will add him. Anyway he`s good. What`s about Todo? I`m more interested in his design. Hope Ikeda and Ukita would also appear in this game.

Exactly, especially his face + no special details. Helm? It was predictable.
Ii looks more distinctive from other warriors, his armor has intersting shape (like armor from future) and his face is make me think he`s seriously considering as future addition. Can`t say the same about Kuroda, he was made just for this game and it`s obvious thing. <_<

I quite like Kuroda Jr.! lol He got a interesting weapon and a cool beard!

If he gets added in SW series sometime, I would like to see a better costume but the same face and weapon! Papa Kuroda needs his son! XD

Although I do agree that he looks generic, I think his weapon is pretty unique. Horns? Now, that's awesome! But yeah, if he's added to the franchise one day, he certainly needs a more unique design. There is nothing special about his current design, except perhaps the helmet. What is certain is that I definitely like his weapon.

No thoughts, how is it possible to fight with horns, I`m not sure this thing is weapon.

Well, they can create completely crazy moveset for him. After all, I don't think this weapon is weird as magic weapons, such as Bracelets (I know, this is perhaps not the best comparison). Personally, I prefer this over another character with a sword or a spear. And I like having abnormal weapons too~ ^_^ Probably one of the most unique weapons for now, for the revealed characters.

I think the reason Yoshitsugu is so popular is because of his close association with Mitsunari. I mean Mitsunari is one of the most controversial, popular, and intriguing figure in all of Japanese history and Yoshitsugu is generally considered one of if not his most trusted companions, so that is definitely a large factor as to why he is so popular. Anyways could someone please post the entire list for me of the results of that poll with the most wanted characters?

Gonna give the Top 30. The rest of the names on the poll mostly had 7 votes-1 vote on to them, so they won't be listed.

Wow, I'm shocked. How did people like Nobutada, Mototada, and Katsuyori not even make the top 30?! I find that shocking but I will say that I agree with the top 7 all of those people should be added.

I'm not surprised. Almost all of those 30 are way more vital to expand the story of Sengoku Japan than Nobutada or Mototada. Katsuyori is iffy.

Bizarre that Miyoshi Nagayoshi isn't on there while Matsunaga Hisahide and Ashikaga Yoshiteru are. That's an incomplete story there.

I'm still shocked Mototada's not there... yet a lot unimportant Tokugawa generals are. Why? We really need at least one new Tokugawa for SW4, and Mototada fills that role more than enough.

Mototada serves Tokugawa all the way from pre-Okehazama to Fushimi Castle and had significant role in Nagashino and Ueda Castle, not to mention his honorable last stand at Fushimi Castle. He can have character interactions with Ieyasu, Tadakatsu, Hanzo, Ina, Yoshihiro etc... What more do you want?

I'd like to hear why some call him "unimportant", when he's definitely not. He's a must add for SW4, far more important than Naomasa Ii.

Well, it's certain that Mototada is rather important, we can't say otherwise. I think those who say he's not important is due to the fact that they don't really know this character; his history and his accomplishments.

I'd like to see him in the franchise too, but I'm not sure he will be added in SW4. If a new character for the Tokugawa clan is added, I have a feeling that it will be Naomasa. He's a highly requested character by the fans since a long time, and I will not be surprised if he's added before Mototada, whether in SW4 or much more later in the franchise.

Imho Ii is much better choice than Torii and any other Tokugawa retainer and Mototada is unpopular among japanese fans. That`s how it goes. Ii is a new type "red vengeance-berserker" and what Torii does? The same role of bodyguard that Honda has, or killing tool like Hattori? Every time I imagine Mototada I see him as old man (maybe because of film) that serves Tokugawa from the beginning. Masanobu is those old geek already. Anyway he`s a way better than Sakai or Sakakibara (who still might appear in this game).
Mototada is not must add, but very preferable.

@Fuuma. And I`m curious who is Tokugawa`s unimportant generals here?

TBH, Ii for me just falls somewhat short... it's good that he's relatively young as a Tokugawa retainer and he has had his accomplishments at Komaki-Nagakute and Sekigahara... and that I think that is the problem, aside from striking appearances and youth, Ii has a poor track record compared to his contemporaries...

I would gladly take Mototada or even moreso, Masanobu as they cover far more than Ii... especially Masanobu, the guys been in cutscenes since SW2 and Ieyasu needs an actual Tokugawa strategist in the shadows (Not Kanbei...)

Still, Konishi's in so I'm happy... also liking the fact that Todo and Nabeshima are in the Top 30
