First: i love utage, its great, its cool and a lot better then BS3 but somethings are a bit missing .... most of the things that SB2H had and are still missing: 1. Armor 2. Big Tournament...the game is still a bit easy 3. the unlockable characters are... i mean only one costume and only one weapon skin?...they could atleast have reused the SB2H weapons and polish them a bit. 4. they did not remove the Horse race map...that map is absolutely no fun ![]() 5. an officer reset option would be cool(set them back to level 1 and so) 6. an ultimate weapon for every character, a cool strong one with element i actually hope Basara 4 will use the same engine and they just add stuff, even with a wii release they have over 4GB of data they could add! so what do you dislike about this great game? We need back Miyamoto Musashi. As well as bringing in a much better and playable Hattori Hanzo. |

Having spent about a month with this game, I guess I'm ready to do some b1tching... - That stupid horse race map. Definitely agree that one should go. Especially when Unification shoves it down our throats almost every run. - The boss fight with Tenkai has been removed from 'The Siege of Kanegasaki' and with it, one of the best stage cutscenes in the game. Why?! - 200 levels. It's too much. Characters go about 130 levels of gaining nothing besides measly HP upgrades. And on top of this overkill... - ...is another overkill - the weapon upgrade system. It's preposterous. As someone who likes having a character in his/her full "natural stats", it's like the game is forcing me to pick ONE weapon for a character, and even so, it takes a LOT of time to fully boost a weapon (haven't got any so far...). It almost makes me feel glad that the last 6 only have 1 weapon design. - The last 6 missing 2 super skills each. (They're still better than some of the 8 new...) |

You are right,to have this status: ![]() I don't remembeer how long for me to have this status but for sure it take more time to farming weapon than level up character(I usually choose NObunaga as tag partner to level weapon and other character level, and after max 7 characters,NObunag still didn't have the max weapon) |

Roster: Its better than SB3's but only six unlockable characters is a little lackluster. And none of them having a story mode was pretty lame. Replay value: There isn't much outside of grinding to level 200 and having a god like weapon forged from Lu Bu's skin and Daigo Umehara's fire. Lack of online play: Tease me with a versus mode from the PSP games but no online option? Come on. |

Not enough alternate constumes, no online mode, six characters have just one weapon skin and one super, no English subs, Kotaro lacks in gameplay, Matsunaga was put on a completely OP pedestal story-wise, almost all stages revolve around defeating bases.

A lot of the same faults I have with this game roll over from SB3 vanilla. - Bases: Still hate this mechanic; because it adds a faux-strategy element which really doesn't flow well with BASARA's style. - Useless grinding: Pretty much gone into detail above. What's the point of having all these extra levels and uber-weapons, when it doesn't really affect the end game that much more? - Annoying enemy types: Good that they answered the call for more enemy variety, but bad that they're still don't come off as being as interesting as some of the guys we had in HEROES |

I thought it was odd that the original characters weren't there in addition to the new ones in story mode, why not just copypasta. The lack of long storylines for the sidecharacters, and underdevelopment of the unlockable characters was also disappointing. And the difficulty, once you reach a certain level is pretty lacking in challenge.

the game already supports backwards compatibility(the game uses an integrated savefile system with SB3, what progress you have in Utage can be transferred back into SB3 and vice versa), and they are trying to make the game as simple as possible, w/o overcrowding the disc(remember, this is still on wii too) or forcing you do do "mixjoys" a la musou games also, the story mode cannot be copypasta'd, have you even played SB3? it revolves heavily on "emaki" which is a forced conquest with various paths, dialogues, and endings, which everyone and their mom seems to hate, which is why in Utage they revert it back to the short, sweet, simple story mode from the pre-SB3 games, if you want longer play just play conquest, that's where the SB's meat is at ever since the beginning anyways. |

I really like this game a lot, but there is actually one thing I dislike about Utage besides Capcom refusing to localize it and giving us half-baked games like they always do. I noticed there are five characters you fight against during the story of SB3/Samurai Heroes and Utage. They are: - Harumasa Nanbu - Yoshishige Satake - Hirotsuna Utsunomiya - Yoritsuna Anegakōji - Haruhisa Amago I could include Naoe Kanetsugu as well, but he's just a generic officer and doesn't count as the unique officers. Since most of the characters in Utage doesn't have stories anyway, why not be able to play as them? Even though most of the good characters are now playable on the expansion, I feel that the more people I can play as, the better the game can be. The PvP mode can have more variety if those five were playable. |

if you didn't know yet, most of the new playables in Utage(sans shingen, sorin, and matsunaga) are already 90% done in SB3, they only lack 1~2 skills(usually supers, but not always) and a gimmick, with kojuuro and sasuke getting quite an overhaul in the end, in short, all of these are probably supposed to be playable in SB3 from the beginning but got cut because of time constraints in fact, the day Utage was announced, people already can guess who will be added as playable characters, based on one simple clue:whether or not they have detailed in-game models with MOVING MOUTHS/face expression, this makes the super secret takeda shingen reveal being called already by many people before any kinds of reveal had been done about him the 5 warlords however, lacks both of those things: they only have 1~2 special attacks, a pretty much generic Basara attack, and the big kick, SB2 styled graphics(non animated faces), these are the signs of "NPC for life" and SB has these ever since SB2, they are not meant to be playable and are just there to add the variety other examples of these are: -the go hon yari of SB2(5 cool looking, but very cliched samurais with different colors and elemental powers assigned to each, notice the pattern?) -Naoe Kanetsugu himself -Matsunaga's Miyoshi trio(debuted in SB2H,also appears in Utage, Also unplayable) simply put, they are no different than the AT AT walkers of classic SB's or the new mechas like death carriages, or the horned mole, an unplayable boss/sub bosses that is meant to be that way from the start, how hard is it to grasp that not everything must be playable? Number one thing I don't like that it's not in America, and from what I've seen from videos and pictures is I want the characters from all of the SB's. If that was the case I would import this in a instant. |
