I still have no idea about Utimate weapons (they do exist or there would be no f***ing gap in the vault!) and no-one else anywhere seems to know...
So far, I've gotten Ujiyasu's, Aya's and Motonari's weapon.

Here you can find information about missions, secret weapons and event scenes:

I have to say that I really enjoy the game. I think the mini missions that pp up and the other generals that you can command are great. my only problem is that on normal the game is a bit too grindy. You have to get back into missions often to level up characters. At least that has been my experience so far.
:OMG: are you joking?! This leveling up of characters is stupidly fast compared to SW3 where you have to play every character individually form level 1, in this game when you meet a new character it balances them to your level which has made life a hell lot easier compared to SW3 which has a extremely laborous process! You should be grateful for the games level system!

I was only at the end of part 1 when I wrote that. Yeah the game is actually pretty good at getting all the other characters up to your level when a new scenario starts or you meet a new character in general. It was just that within part 1 I had some trouble with the later missions o normal and the leveling at that point for 4 different characters was somewhat of a chore. Nor I am in part 3 and it's not really an issue any more.

I have not played Samurai Warriors 3, but I would be interested to know how the two games compare content wise. Are a lot of the missions the same? If that#s the case I'll probably skip Samurai Warriors 3 Z should it ever be released outside of Japan.

The missions are similar but a lot harder because there is only one you instead of 4, also there is mode called Murasame mode whcih based on the japanese game The Mystery of Murasame castle that is a challenge for any experts out there.

I haven't played Gracia yet. But, Masanori is pretty fun. I haven't touched Aya since the second level or something, but her moveset seemed pretty iffy.

The male CAW is pretty fun. His moveset is very reminiscent of Ranmaru's, except he has a gun. His charge attacks aren't massive crowd clearers like I would've liked (not that there are massive crowds, mind you :XD ), but he's good enough. I have't tried the female.

I have neglected this game in favor of DW7, but since I have DW7 mostly completed, I may be going back to it and finish it off.

Gracia has pretty much a terrible normal moveset (as usual), but she has very interesting power attacks and special attacks, her being special based. Aya gets very powerful once you have unlocked her whole moveset. The male characters move set can crowd clear very well at full moveset unlock, except for his C4 which I despise. No idea what the female is like :XD

The female is fast with nice combo movements when you unlock more moves. I enjoy playing her a lot, since she also has quite large area cleaners (area befor her only) with elemental-stuff optic (dunno if it's actually elemental damage on top, but it's looking that way). Certainly enjoy playing the girl more than the boy, thought I guess that's also because her moveset reminds me a bit of (two swords) Lu Xun's - but better.
More fluent, I'd say.

Anyway that link for DLC is not working with me despite streetpass enabled. I'm guessing it's region locked u.u

EDIT: I just noticed I forgot what I was originally to write XD

Every character whom you have a chance to 'friend' has between 7 and 13 unique events.
Since I hadn't been offered certain characters at all so far, I thought perhaps some of them had 'pair' events, like Hanbei and Kanbei, but it appears I was wrong :3

The one with 13 events is Kenshin btw XD and he's the only one with that many - and no, Aya has her own as well as Masanori. So no shared events here either :)

On the EU site of SW Chronicles, check Kenshin's profile. It says "he views Shingen Takeda and Ujinori Hojo as his personal rivals". That's funny.

Got the game.

Spoiler: click to toggle

I started with the Male and switched to the Female. The girl is a lot more my style. The Light armor for the Male was the same as the CAW set in SW3, so I was curious what the Female armors were and so far I unlocked her Light armor.

I've only completed Chapter 1 so far, and surprisingly enough half the music is new. Old staples like Okehazama (the more recent version) and Kawanakajima were still there though. The Mt. Inaba Castle theme "Conqueror" (the sound test does NOT list this as stage specific, though) is awesome.

I find this game is more interesting than SW3Z which just bought weeks ago.

Can tell me what's the new stuff inside?

Music, and then?

What about stages? Got clones? The DLC stage I saw it was Inabayama in SW3, if I'm correct. Reading this SWC, I feel like I want to play Historical Mode in SW3Z with my CAW.

Finished story mode on the Eastern Army side. On advice I built up Mitsunari's friendship and now I have Fumishi Western Army unlocked, will have to figure out how to unlock the rest of the stages later.

Also maxed out friendship with Ina. Strong friendship with Mitsunari and Ieyasu. I somehow suspect my friendship with Yukimura tanked since I killed him so much.

I have unlocked all the stages however I still need to get the Western or Eastern Army stage for Yamagawa and Oshu. To unlock the three stages in 4th chapter you just need very good friendships with participating characters.

Alright, so I tickled another 'secret' out of the game.
If you are to persuade specific characters events, you'll sometimes find yourself 'stuck'. I've for example played Mino after playing through all avaible stages as often as it would get me a Hanbei-event.

Then I found another stage where I got some events. Then there was a 'death end' despite some events still being open (checked in the vault).
I then accidentally picked a battle I'd done before and triggered an interaction scene between hanbei and another character, that definitly hadn't been there the first time I played it.
Afterwards I promptly got a Hanbei event.

My suspicion is that you either need a certain level of friendship with the character and/or have seen a certain number of events in order to trigger these.

Either way you can sometimes not progress with a characters events until you find those events.

Also one does not necessarily unlock events one after another. In Aya's case I had one event 'missing' in between two in the line up given in the vault.

I'm still missing some stages, but that's alright so far. I'm currently focusing on event finding & frienship leveling.

You can earn frienship due to:
Events (as mentioned)
Fix story events -> e.g. End of first story arch.
Fighting alongside a character.
Battling against a character repeatly (since you stay close to him).

A guess: Playing the character?
Can't confirm this, but just kinda leveled up No in Honnoji battle and only played with her not had my character close to her... Alternately I'm also guessing that if you finish missions intended for certain characters, that might also be the trick.

Since I STILL haven't seen some characters up for event options, but see they have events listened in the vault, I'm guessing that you need to finish certain characters events first to get to them.
I'm hoping to get some Kanbei, now that I completed Hanbei. ;P

Oh and completeing a characters events unlocks the chibi illustrations already known from the chibi-figures <3

Raising/lowering friendship have nothing to do with using your Hero character-- you can just not use the Hero character except any required points and they'll still go up and down as usual.

Having a player character in battle is enough to get their friendship to rise.

Defeating a character or having your player character defeated lower friendship slightly. It's obviously not as much as the friendship gains you can get, but it's undetermined just how much 1 win = x defeats.

As for Events showing up, some of the factors include the time period, and perhaps in what order you achieved Friendship status with them. I didn't start seeing Kanbei events until after I exhausted Hanbei events, and I didn't see Hanbei events until after I exhausted Nobunaga and Toshiie events prior to that.

---------------------------

Anyway, Japan seems to have gotten a second DLC level, this one focused around Gracia beating up her dad and Tadaoki Hosokawa (I think).

I bought the game a few days ago, even though I have no plans of buying a 3DS anytime soon(holding out for a white or purple to get released). Figured I should get it because I kept seeing online that it was hard to find. I had to go to two different gamestops to get it, and the guy at the first one told me it was already discontinued

Anyways, the game sounds awesome and I'm looking forward to playing it whenever I get around to buyin' a 3DS :hehe:

Lame and idiot hands-on from GameSp*t. They don't know the game overalls, they just talk rubbish and it sounds like an insult to the game, for me.

The Samurai Warriors Chronicles was better then i expected it was a game worth getting. I know this wish is very unlikely but i also hope they make DW7 for 3Ds because samurai warriors for 3Ds came out perfectly.

Of the Gaiden missions, I've unlocked one called The Lover's Temple. Nagamasa and Oichi go to Izumo to retrieve a legendary love blossom, but Hideyoshi (and several others) have other ideas.

That has to be one of my favourite gaiden stories by far. It features the map from Takamaru's Curiouser and Curiouser Mission in SW3's Mursasame Castle.

i'm very interested in this game , the sad thing is i do not own a 3Ds yet because the launch games are a little underwelming and i won't buy it for a single game.

Do you guys think this game alone is worth buying the 3DS for?

I unlocked Yukimura's second-to-last event which is about Yukimura's life in exile following Sekigahara. Ina visits him (supposedly she was in charge of looking after his needs) and actually encouraged him to answer Hideyori's call to arms at Osaka.

Muneshige's second-to-last event has him interacting a bit with Masamune and Ina, who you don't normally see around him. That was kind of interesting, too.

Probably just my mind playing tricks on me, but one of Ina's events has her asking you to be her friend (in her rather humorous awkwardly formal way). It almost sounded like she wanted to ask you out.

Ranmaru and No's final events are pretty much them surviving the Honnoji fire.

Ginchiyo is full-on tsundere in this game, both toward her husband and toward you. It's actually pretty annoying.

I had a hard time making friends with Yoshihiro since responding to him isn't all that straightforward like it is for most of the other characters (Muneshige is somewhat the same way, but his friendship doesnt go down as easily), but toward the end I got the hang of it. He's just strange.

It annoyed me that Kiyomasa, Mitsunari, and Masanori's initial events were mostly the same, but they do branch out in their own ways once you get the ball rolling.

Aya is pretty cold and stony and likes talking down to you a lot. It's a wonder, though, how I mostly managed to pick the right responses for her since I was completely unfamiliar with her. Basically, you have to act like an adult who sees the bigger picture.

I thought so. I essentially DID buy a 3DS just for this game (technically that isn't true, but this is the only game I play regularly with it)
