This is indeed good news. LulzSec, Anonymous and the ilk has been making life difficult for honest Americans for many years, and mask their presence behind a wall of 0's and 1's. The fact that he was caught in June and was working behind the scenes for the FBI could have only meant that he was directing the group to not attack certain sites, but he clearly failed in others.

Meh, LulzSec. Their error was becoming too centralized and having a leader in the first place, not to mention having lost the aspirations and ideology some of Anonymous stand for. Doing things for the lulz just doesn't fly.

I doubt this will impact Anonymous too much. You can stop people but you can't stop ideas.

Good. They havent ever actually helped anyone, just made things inconvenient for the average joe who never cared about their silly causes to begin with.

He committed crimes, he's being punished for those crimes. Sounds like a good deal to me. It doesn't surprise me that he's cooperating with police, though I can't imagine to what end. Anonymous is so decentralized that it's going to be hard pinning any individual statute on a member, even with testimony. For an organization like that, broad statutes such as RICO are probably more effective.

And yeah, doing things for the Lulz never really accomplishes anything useful.

EDIT: I really should read the full article before posting

I always got the impression that LulzSec was unrelated to Anonymous, seeing how Anon always claimed to be driven by an ambition of some sort, whereas LulzSec caused lesser amounts of annoyance and only "for kicks". huh.
