They are targeting the game as Sony's answer to Super Smash Bros. They even have some Smash tournament players on their development team, so a lot of things that we see in Super Smash Bros., such as items are not going to be in the game. Perhaps the only saving grace for the game is depending on what characters they announce in the coming months. |

Ive watched the livestream of both Microsoft and Playstation, I didnt get around to watching Ubisoft and EA but it seems like I am not missing anything due to what you guys are saying. Microsoft was alright I guess, I liked the Halo 4 part but then it kinda just went back to Kinect stuff and I generally got bored of it nearing the end. Playstation conference was much better, wonderbook was let say not for me everything else was amazing. And Last Of Us was an amazing demo, I really like what setting the game is and I will most likely definitely be picking that up. |

With Nintendo's coming up, people are theorizing that that's why they did the pre-E3 direct show; so that all the technicals can be out of the way and their presentation is all about the games. |

I got to see the Assassin's Creed 3 promo and demo, and heard the Last of Us, since I was the only one on task and working, while the rest of my workmates were looking at it. It sounded pretty cool... and good to see that the Ellen Page chick was MEANT to look like/be Ellen Page and not just a strange coincidence... |

But admittedly there's still quite a bit of technical stuff we don't know about the Wii U. Does it have a harddrive? What resolutions does it support? What disc format will it use? Plus a bunch of controller related questions. Nintendo still have a lot to do at their conference tomorrow, but I'm sure they can pull it off. In all fairness, they kind of have to. This E3 has been pretty drab and boring, and sometimes downright awful save for a few brilliant moments. Nintendo have the opportunity now to walk away from E3 tomorrow with the internet screaming 'Nintendo won E3!'. Give me the new SSB game and they'll already be halfway there. I never cared much for Assassin's Creed, but I was impressed by the stuff shown in the streams for the 3rd game I might check it out this fall. I'm mostly looking forward to the E3 trailer for Tekken Tag 2 and the Jake and Chris gameplay for RE6. |

Then Nintendo comes in to whoop everyone else's butt. There's seriously a huge optimism on Nintendo right now. Ubisoft's presentation was the only one that was remotely good, while the rest...Sony was alright, and Microsoft was...

So far, everything is meh. Microsoft's was crap, EA's was crap, Sony's was crap with one saving grace, Ubisoft was alright. Last of Us and Watch Dogs have been the best things out of this snoozefest. |

Something wrong with you people that say Sony was 'bad' or 'alright'. Clearly expecting too much, if Sony was just average I dread to think what every other conference has been. Nintendo have a prime opportunity to steal E3 - if they get it all right. |

I kinda enjoyed Sony, it was certainly better than both EA and Microsoft. Ubisoft and Sony were the only shows that kept be interested, and in Sony's case the only bump was really that stupid book thing...but otherwise, it was solid. |

Only watched Sony and Ubisoft so far. Didn't care for Sony's, Ubisoft was cool (was looking forward to Rayman Legends, but WiiU exclusive? ugh...) I hope Nintendo's will be better than last year's lamefest. |

I don't think it was "expecting too much", so much that there was a number of missed opportunities. Case in point: This was prime time for Sony to do more to support their flailing Vita with some more blockbusters to spurn more growth and sales. But instead? They actually ended up doing more to pimp Playstation Suite on tablets and smartphones than they did for their own damn hardware. They're basically doing exactly what Nintendo will NEVER do to the 3DS or their backlog; undermine the profitability of their own portable platform by farming out stuff to the tablets and smart phones. Y'know, the competition. In my opinion, this is a dangerous precedent Sony continues to present, and I think it will come to bite them in their rear soon or later. |

So much for Nintendo saving E3. Terrible conference - Pikmin being the single highlight. THREE Mario games, one Luigi one - and guess what? WOW, I CAN PLAY OLD GAMES ON MY WII U! MASS EFFECT 3! Give me a break. Honestly that was probably worse than Microsoft simple because people had expectations of Nintendo. I think it's plausible to say this E3 has just been one big pile of boring crap. |

I just cannot believe they pumped so much time and energy into games from last year. Re-releasing on Wii U. Like anyone is really going to buy a Wii U for games that are already out there. Terrible. No massive Nintendo games either - no Zelda teaser (expected, but still) and no mention of Super Smash Bros. Nintendo could have had it all and they completely failed to deliver on almost every front possible. Apart from Reggie. That guy is awesome. 'I LIKE FRENCH FOOOOOD'. GIFs incoming. |

It's worth mentioning that there will be two more Nintendo showcases. Besides the 3DS show tomorrow, they'll have their usual "Developer Roundtable" tonight. Beyond that, Pikmin was definitely a welcome sight, and so was seeing anything new for Paper Mario 3DS for the first time in nearly two years. But I guess this deflating showing just showcases that even Nintendo doesn't see the value of E3 any longer. Not when they can control traffic with their "Nintendo Directs" that are even more efficient than their old "Spaceworld" events. Oh, and I guess I should link this: "Hardcore WiiU fan? You might want to come back to Spike for the reveal of "Project P-100" live on our Show....from a HUGE developer :)" - https://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/210059730113134592 EDIT: ...It's from Platinum Games...!?

Well. Wii gets a bunch of ports of games that will already be available on older consoles, and then Pikmin. Wow. How exciting. And the 3DS gets more Mario. Really not convincing us 3rd parties aren't gonna abandon the Wii U and 3DS like they did everything else you make Nintendo. Sony only showed off like 4 things, and they still had the best show. Jesus MS and Nintendo get worse and worse every year. Edited by Joshelplex, Tue Jun 5, 2012 6:39 pm.

http://t.co/hPIHjq42 Genre: Mass-Hero Action Publisher: Nintendo Developer: Platinum Games Release: Launch Players: 1 Strength in Numbers Earth is under attack from an invasion of enormous aliens, and the only thing that can protect the planet is a group of unlikely, yet mighty, heroes with special abilities. Unfortunately, the aliens are too powerful for the heroes to fight individually. They must join forces and work together to defeat their common enemy. These uniquely different heroes can morph into powerful weapons to crush the invaders or turn into objects like a giant fist or bridge to interact with and traverse the environments. Features: Players must explore each stage to find helpless citizens and recruit them to join their army of heroes. The more heroes you gather, the greater your Special Morph Powers will be. Players can use the Wii U GamePad's touch screen to command heroes such as Bonzai Man, Vending Machine Man and even Toilet Bowl Man. Heroes can also morph into gelatin to guard themselves from enemy attacks. Players can also use the GamePad to explore areas unseen on the TV screen and solve puzzle elements. Platinum Games, known for hit titles like Bayonetta and MadWorld, has partnered with Nintendo to apply its unique talent to the development of one of the first games for Wii U. |

I know games alone are not the sole focus of E3 but as far I am concerned, they are. Sadly, this is becoming overrun with cellphone/tablet crap and AAA dudebro titles. Bar Metal Gear Revengeance and Castlevania LOS 2, there's nothing that really caught my interest...and they're not exactly things we weren't already expecting. But then again, I'm already used to expecting the good stuff from TGS. Just as I was writing this post and did a quick check of Siliconera...superb timing. Here's Project P-100: |
