All aboard the hype train!

(I'll use this as an excuse to post one of my favorite gifs)

Seriously though, E3 either makes or breaks dreams people. If you get your mind set on this reveal by thinking it's something it isn't, don't come back to this thread crying about it - happens every single year.

By all means be excited, but just don't get TOO hyped :hehe:

How I love speculating and raising hopes.

Canīt wait to find out what it really is...if itīs DW7:E...
Anything new is okay in my book, just donīt get us hyped for a Warriors game we allready knew was coming.

Koei, show us what you can do, give us something new. Be a man! :beard:

All this teasing for just one Wu scenario? I don't think so.

I just thought of something. If they are announcing the new title at E3, and it appeals to Western tastes, doesn't that suggest a release date of Winter 2012 depending on how far along they are on development?

I'll be the first to admit that I was one of those who wanted a Disissia(sp) port on the PS3, and working with Koei on a Warriors game involving Final Fantasy could be a suitable compromise to those who want the bloody port but yet keep it a PSP exclusive.

That is the only logical explaination that I can come up with for Koei breaking their pattern for announcements, if the game in question has a release date for this year.

Definitely the fall of Wu. Maybe that was the whole purpose of Sima Yan's face not being shown in the Jin ending. It may be that this warriors tittle will continue after the Three Kingdoms Era starting after Sima Yan forced Cao Huan to abdicate to him and reunited China after the fall of Wu. This could mean that new characters during the Jin rule starting with the Revolt of the Eight Princes! Characters such as the eight princes, Empress Yang Yan (wife of Sima Yan), Xiangnu characters, and definitely Crown Princess Jia Nanfeng since she was the one who provoked the war of the eight princes that leads to the Wu Hu rebellions. Wouldn't that be interesting?

KOEI posted a star in their FB page ★, not sure if serious or trolling though :hehe: Anyway, if they are not trolling, then that means...... Fist of the North Star 2!
If this star symbol were related with the previous image (fall of wu),does it means....... Star wars meet wu?
Sorry this thing just popped out in my mind randomly, just ignore it..

edit: on more serious note, if that "fall of wu" teaser were related with DW7 empires, then my bet is the release date for DW7 empires for overseas will not be too far from the JP release date, Just like DW7. Don't quote me on this though. :hehe:

Final Fantasy Musou= High chance being the game

Fire Emblem Musou= Maybe, it's possbile.

FOTNS: Ken's rage 2= Sales don't go well for west so it might not be possible.

Star Wars Musou= Not really

Pokemon Musou= I would love to see it, but they did Conquest already. :XD

Take note that Koinuma is the one that's doing the game.

What if the teaser image only suggests it has something to do with Dynasty Warriors, not specifically 7 or even 8? They would firstly, never announce Dynasty Warriors 8 months before the Japanese release of 7: Empires, and they want to make us guess.

It was said we aren't expecting this? Fine, how about Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 3 using the Dynasty Warriors 7 engine as base?

Or even a western release for Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce 2 HD Version? The possibilities are endless! =)

So I'm confused. It was thought to be another DW tease, but now it isn't? And others are saying it could be something else entirely?

Obviously a Star Wars game isn't it with 1313 being a FPS, so scratch that.

Oh Avatar Musou, will you ever see the light of day?

I don't mean to be an a**, but why are some still guessing on this, though it could still be anything, it's highly unlikely that it'll be anything else besides The fall of Wu scenario in DW7 Empires. It makes perfect sense to include it in empires since they got shunned in Jin's story in favor of Shu, with that said we may get 3 or 4 characters who were involved in this scenario. That's just speculation though Xu Shu might have been included for the heck of it since Jin and Wu will see the most new adds. Again it's all speculation.

It has always been the case at the moment I think.
But, if DW7 made good sales overseas, they may change things.
And Chin is making a great job to make the west more important in Koei's mind I think.

EDIT : it has never been stated that the game is from Koinuma San's team. Maybe he will be the one to take the plane to Los Angeles in the name of Omega Force, and presents everything even if it's not his own game.

+ don't forget 2 games will be announced.
Umm, Blackkite mentioned that it's Koinuma himself that's announcing it acutally. And DW7E won't be much of a surprise at all. ^^;
Are you sure about that? Because I thought BK said that Koinuma's announcement was different from the E3 annoucement.

We can't be sure though, but all we know is that the one doing the game is Koinuma himself. Whatever the game, all I know that it's not a DW game for sure. :/

Wait, Koinuma was the producer and director of the Samurai Warriors series right??
Perhaps the new announcement has something to do with Samurai Warriors 4...

Because this is stated to be a full on new game, and not some mere attachment to another announced game that most westerners won't even care about?

True, but SW is not even popular for Western gamers so it's not really possible.

I wouldn't go as far to say its unpopular.
Besides SW3 could have been much more popular had it not been placed on the stupid Wii!

Even so, most people would prefer FPS than just dumb historical hack'n'slash. Ugh. <w<

Are you sure about that? Because I thought BK said that Koinuma's announcement was different from the E3 annoucement.
Hmm, let's see what we had previously. If I remember correctly there were these 'clues'
- Inspector tweeted that Koinuma has a secret announcement for E3
- Koinuma blogged that he looks forward to E3 but he also wants to announce a title in Japan before that in May
- Inspector said there will be 2 secret games in E3: 1 can be easily guessed, the other one is complete surprise

So the conclusions to the points above would become:
  • Koinuma's May announcement
  • Two E3 secret games
    - one is an easily guessable game
    - the other one is a complete surprise
*Koinuma's E3 announcement is in one of them

Koinuma's May announcement is already confirmed to be SWC2.
The just posted E3 teaser is about one of the two E3 secret games. And as evidenced in above posts, it will be most likely DW7E, now providing a speculation point on whether it'll actually feature the Jin vs Wu war.

The teaser took a very short time to decipher, so it could be suggested that the 'easily guessed E3 secret game' is DW7E. Now DW is handled by Suzuki's team, so that leaves Koinuma's unknown game as the remaining secret game. So in the end we're having this result:
  • Koinuma's May announcement <- SWC2
  • Two E3 secret games
    - one is an easily guessable game <- DW7E
    - the other one is a complete surprise <- Koinuma's secret unknown game

In the meanwhile, I'll be anticipating the likes of Sima Yan, Yang Hu and Lu Kang appearing on DW7E then. :sly:

Oh I'm sorry then, but did it ever actually state that this teaser was related to the new title though. I'm a bit confused after reading some of the post in regards to it, some are saying one is supposed to be a brand new title and this clearly can't be the one we are looking for in regards to that teaser photo. I just need some clarity is all.

Edit: Couldn't get more clearer than that. Thanks BK, although you weren't directly responding to me, it cleared things up for me.

No it won't. Ni-Oh was first announced as a project created by Kou Shibusawa. After that the development seemed to freeze, but after the KOEI-Tecmo merger, in TGS 2010, it was announced that Ni-Oh's development would be re-initiated by Tecmo's Team Ninja led by Yosuke Hayashi.

So Ni-Oh is not directly related to Koinuma, nor it is a secret surprise.
I think we could expect a trailer or two and some screenshots of Ni-Oh from the new development though. Especially now that Team Ninja had finished Ninja Gaiden 3, most likely they're currently focusing on Ni-Oh.
(EDIT: oh wait, and DOA5 too, I just realized)
(EDIT2: ↓LOL! so that was your purpose eh? Well, as long as this clears things up, I have no problem with it. :hehe: )
