The announcement for DW7E or 8 is at the end of this year! I honestly cannot wait that long At least there's One Piece: Pirate Warriors and whatever Koei announces at E3 to appease my anxious wait

Yep, thatīs why I said, theyīd be crazy enough to do it. There are a lot of different weapons that could be used. And seeing as they allready have some experience with firearms when I look at the Samurai Warriors series, itīs certainly not impossible. So Freedom Warriors...they can implement more strategy into that one. But seriously, now Iīm pumped up, if they announce it at the E3 it has to be big enough in their eyes to catch some interest of the non-asian market. |

I can surely say that the Secret Title is not DW8, and will never be! It's too damn soon for that... Also, it seems quite unlikely to be SW4 even if it's already time for that to be revealed. The most safe bet is that Koinuma-san is developing a Fantasy Action RPG with elements that will conquer the East. |

I'm quite sure their E3 announcement is a Wii U launch title.

Hopefully. I doubt Zelda HD or SSB4 will be shown there, so I need something other than Tekken to occupy myself with when the WiiU comes out. |

ohh F to that. haven't they learned from SW3 if it is a good property they reveal, it would better presented on a stronger console, not Nintendo's next sub par graphics, half assed, motion gimmick machine. |

Yeah, Koei took quite the beating on the Wii. Very low sales and negative fan reaction from a console with the largest userbase on the market... and then to try and do it on another Nintendo console, except this time with the smallest userbase? Doesn't sound like a very good business strategy to me. Their fanbase is on PS and Xbox. Unless they're going for a NEW fanbase. That's always possible. |

I don't get why people like you guys seem to miss the point; it was a mistake because they launched it for Nintendo ONLY. You act and blame like it's Nintendo's fault. Now what if it was made for all 3? Would you still go around blaming Nintendo then? |

KOEI probably tried a new turn for the Nintendo consoles so there's no problem for one company to try something new. At least DW/SW is in all the consoles there is to play in the market. So let's say you love DW but ended up getting a Nintendo console, well you know the drill.Any comments on E3 from Twitter?

Well, he has a point. The Wii is not were Koeiīs fanbase lies and thatīs not going to change. Itīs a fact that most "hardcore Wii players" are casual players. And letīs be honest, the Warriors franchise is a hardcore fanbase, no stuff for beginners. Though you have to start at one point, getting into the franchise is pretty hard by itself, let alone when you are used to stuff like Mario Kart or Wii Party, etc. Give it a few years and Koei might try it again...with more effort this time Thatīs why I doubt itīs a Wii/Wii U title...though you never know, their sales speak for a PS3 - PS3/XBOX360 release. The E3 is exactly the week where I have my math exams...thatīs...awesome I guess? Some nice announcements to sugarcoat the dissapointment in math

The reason why I thought the reveiled game will be for Wii U is because of Tecmo Koei's recent powerpoint. In this powerpoint, there was a diapositive, saying that they will focus on "collaboration game" & "release product with new hardware". And with this came a Wii U picture. And @Yukimazan : no news on twitter. |

I'm not familar with the technology and functions of the Wii U. But even if it would be a Wii U game, would it be an exclusive one? Would it be an obstacle to create it for the PS3 and XB360 too? As far as i remember, the reason why SW3 became exclusive, was that damn Murasame Castle, which was Nintendo property. |

Well that didn't stop them from just Axe-ing it in the PS3 port. I'm not sure how well they could fare with starting development for the WiiU, and then doing a port to 360 or PS3. WiiU's already getting Darksiders and Assassin's Creed. If they can do it, it shouldn't be too much trouble for the warriors team just to do a reversal. |

Go look at Pokemon Conquest. Koei made that game. That should give you a good idea how committed Koei is to their collaboration ideas. |

Pokemon Conquest really became a jackpot sale in Japan. It even came 2nd place, considered one of the most selling game before Kid Icarus Uprising. Looks like KOEI's getting quite an upper hand here. But I think that was a good move KOEI did though. Collabs might be a good idea since it's one of KOEI's best side. Who knows what they might have under their sleeves? But I got a curious feeling after reading a few articles. Is the game going to be Musou-related because of the developer himself? Or is it some other game like football or shooting?

I wasn't talking about a collaboration, I was talking about a Musou game exclusive to a Nintendo console. Obviously appealing to the Pokemon crowd got a lot more sales than the Musou crowd, which helps to show that Nintendo doesn't hold Koei's fanbase, only Nintendo's. |

I don't think Koei-Tecmo, as a whole, cares that much about that. The Nintendo fanbase's money is just as good to them as those who may only care about One Piece, Gundam and etc, and don't care so much about Koei's main products. But if they're going to do it at all, they have to do it RIGHT, so that they can GET that money. Pokemon + Nobunaga was an example of doing this right. Shoving in lame costume DLC in DW 3DS, or even lame, Capcom-style "experiments" like Samurai Warriors Katana? ...Not so much. Anyway, the only feasible thing I could see if they really wanted to go for a "Nintendo exclusive" Musou? As I've said before on other forums and topics on this site and others? "Super Smash Bros/All Star Nintendo" Musou. I could pretty much guarantee that even the ones who have been drinking the highest amounts of "Musou haterade" would be among the first to foam at the mouth in want for such a game, especially if it was actually quite fun, had loads of familiar characters and served as a nice foretaste to lead into the "proper" Smash games. And if this was a launch/near-launch title, too? Hoo baby... Plus, as others have been saying for years, part of Koei's problem is that their games are a hard sell in the West, because most people there don't care about, or otherwise are not invested in Japanese/Chinese history and legend. Even anime by-products can be a hard sell. However, the moment that more familiar characters get in the mix, watch how things change, as Pokemon + Nobunaga should showcase. So, whatever Koei stands to do when it comes to "further collaborations", I'm hoping they utilize such things to their fullest. |

I agree, they need to find collaborations with a more universal appeal than just anime, which is still a small niche in the West. Which is what I'm hoping for this announcement: Star Wars, comic book properties (Avengers, Justice League), Nintendo characters and such would have a much greater impact on Western markets than just another anime tie-in or a historical game. |

I hope so. Its about time they start caring for their western fans. EDIT: Oh, and i hope that the game will be awesome, or at the very least, nice, otherwise i think there are going to be veeery few sales, with other much more popular and nicer games coming out this year. Hmm i'm not so sure if the announcement that Chin talked about were related with Koinuma's secret announcement. But, since Koinuma-san haven't reveal anything yet about it, this announcement might be that.. maybe they will reveal it in Famitsu?? |
