I think Chin's and Koinuma's announcement are the same. Chin spoke about a "Warriors" game, without saying if it is SW, DW or something else. And Koinuma is the leader of the Warriors series... But well yeah, time will tell. However, you may be right as well. Famitsu may reveal something as well. |

Considering the Western-ness of this announcement, and Chin going on record saying Koinuma has nothing to do with this, don't expect any Famitsu announcement. E3 is where we will be getting it. Nowhere else. |

http://ameblo.jp/sengoku-p/entry-11229380574.html Except that Koinuma-P says that while he does look forward to E3, he also wants to 'announce a new title before it, sometime in May'. If he does what he said before, then it should come either this or next week. It could be either Famitsu info or teaser site maybe. Whether the games to be announced in May and on E3 are the same or not, is still dubious though indeed. |

Hmm, well, that changes stuff. Even if it won't be connected to E3, sure is nice to have two new upcoming games announced. |

Any chance that the may game is WO3 special ? Or not, since Koinuma is not working on WO ? |

It's not going to be that. WO series is handled by Akihiro Suzuki's (DW) team, not Koinuma. And speaking of which, that game wouldn't be the announced game from DW team either, since the latter one must be directly related to DW7. |

I may have a clue as to what it is. IGN's big list of games says that One Piece: Pirate Warriors is supposed to be on display at Namco's display at E3 while Temco Koei is supposed to be showing off Dead or Alive 5. It has been proven in the past that major gaming announcements out of Koei like Romance 12 would only be announced at the Tokyo Game Show. Romance, despite a western following for nearly 30 years, was announced at TGS. An odd story surfaced about a month ago about Pirate Warriors confirming a western release, but with a "sometime in 2012" release date with a PSN distribution. I am starting to suspect that because I haven't heard anything about a Romance localization effort, console or otherwise, that the mystery E3 announcement is the official release date for Pirate Warriors in the US. |

When Koinuma said he will reveal something at E3, he spoke in Japanese. One Piece is already out in Japan. It would have been a nonsense speaking in Japanese, when he is only aiming at the western audience

Koinuma's May announcement is just out right there. I highly doubt he will announce this same game at E3, so his E3 announcement must be a different thing altogether that would pull the interests of general Western audience indeed.. |

And it was confirmed in April that One Piece was getting a western release with little known information other than a "2012" hashtag and they be done with it attitude. Here is the article in question if you have any doubts. I am more in line with BlackKite, thanks to recent events, however the timing to this whole affair just plain stinks. Announce a game that nobody plays in the west just before E3, then when E3 rolls around announce a new game all together that appeals to the West? What happened to the attitude to not announce a major release until TGS, Koei? This is why I will remain firm that we will get a release date for Pirate Warriors in the US. |

Lol, since I do have a 3DS, this has piqued my interest. Especially since I can say that Chronicles is one of the best Koei games. Now we just wait for the E3 announcement. |

Koinuma san just twitted something about SWC2nd a few hours ago, which means it's obviously the famous "May announcement". Now we are waiting for E3 ![]() On another hand...it has been a while since we had the last news about Akihiro Suzuki's team. We know they are working on WO3Special and DWMR2HD (but these are not full game, just PSP/PS3 port), and obviously on the mistery game they spoke about in January, saying they will reveal it at the end of the year. More than one year for a DW7E announcements seems just too big. Conclusion : I'm really looking forward to TGS, more than I am to E3 ! Can't wait for DW8

Now you see what I am getting at? Let's look over the timeline shall we? 1. Koinuma says that he will announce a new title at E3 via a tweet that surfaced thanks to Garnix on May 6, nearly a month prior to E3. 2. Chin has never said in that tweet that the game in question was targeted to Western tastes, as Amaksua added this conclusion on May 7, saying...
3. Just a few days ago, we get the infamous "May announcement" or otherwise known as Samurai Warriors Chronicles 2nd with what apparently indicated a Japan release date. |

A new game that suits western audiences more? Hmmm.... My guess is that this secret title could either be hack and slash, an FPS, or a little bit of both with just a dash of history added into things. It's also important if they make the story of this potential game all the more exciting and dramatic. |

CMIIW, but Akihiro Suzuki and his team aren't in charge for MR2HD, i believe it's handled by another team (Kenichi Ogasawara), so their focus right now is only WO3 Special But regardless, i'm also agree to you that i'm looking forward to TGS more than E3

I'm more looking forward for the TGS than the E3 too, but I'm not really sure DW8 will be announced this year. Obviously, it will be far too early, especially if DW7:Empires is also announced this year. However, they may announce a new game/franchise, anything is possible. DW8 just seems likely for a few years, in my opinion. |

I'm not sure neither. However, I made some comparaisons with DW4/5 EU release dates : DW4 27 june 2003 DW4XL 27 february 2004 + 7monthes DW4E 17 september 2004 + 7monthes DW5 1 july 2005 + 10monthes DW7 8 april 2011 DW7XL 18 november 2011 + 7monthes NOW 24 may 2012 + 6monthes TGS september 2012 + 4monthes from now/10monthes from XL If a game is announced at TGS (which will obviously be the case): Next game : early 2013 + at least 3monthes from TGS/13monthes from XL If Empires is not announced in the summer, I believe it gonna be skipped. Furthermore, I don't think DW7E would be big enough for them to speak about a "big announcement" later this year. But well, speculations, once again =) these 4monthes will be long

Hmm i have a feeling @smusou6 will announce their so called "huge announcement" before this year TGS started, i know my guess is always proved wrong, but i use BK's post as reference:
If his assumption were come true, then in TGS we might see something more than just an announcement about the related game, perhaps a demo gameplay(?) and btw sorry for the off topic..

Actually, they revealed DW7 at TGS 2010, and released it in mid Q1. So we cannot be sure of anything. What I'm curious about, is the fact that Koei expects better result in 2012/2013 than in 2011/2012. Which means they expect better results that those they made with DW7/WO3 & One Piece combined ! The E3 game would better be an amazing thing ! |
