sorry i meant to put a question mark in my post. I'm not sure myself but i seem to remember mugen souls being announced last year as ps3 game. Never knew tecmo koei made it though. EDIT: Quick google shows this- http://uk.ign.com/games/mugen-souls/ps3-120256 Came out 2 months ago in Japan. September ish in NA. No mention of Koei though. I'm pretty sure the article is wrong. Or maybe Koei have some involvement in the NA version? Edited by ZhugeEX, Thu May 31, 2012 12:17 am.

Pretty sure the title won't be revealed until E3. Stop trying to assume that it's a game that's already been announced. |

Once again, my apologies. Everyone's so uptight about this... going to be hilarious if it turns out to be a 'meh' announcement. |

Chin Soon Sun @inspchin Just finished our E3 2012 trailers. We have 2 new titles coming. You can guess one of them, another one is a big surprise. #TKfamily EDIT : No one could even guess what this new game is. The teaser is in one of this grid. https://twitter.com/#!/inspchin/media/grid Edited by garnix, Thu May 31, 2012 12:08 pm.

It's okay to speculate, but be reasonable enough. It's evident that the "surprise" announcement is a game that has yet to be announced, so that when it does get announced it will be... a surprise? Just sayin' ![]() I admit the teasing going on is peaking my interest. For some reason I think it's either a new installment in a dead series (DT, Kessen or BladeStorm) or it's a Warriors game for a completely new era/anime. My two cents. |

I, personally, still stand by my earlier hypothesis that Koei's quotes on their recent financial reports about "pursuing more collaborations" and "ready for next gen console launch" (re: that just means Wii U for now, because neither Sony or MS's new consoles will likely be available within the next fiscal year), has to mean that they want to have something in place for the Wii U. And aiming products explicitly made for the Nintendo demographic (as opposed to just giving them ports/similar products you can find on the other two HD consoles) may be more in line with that concept. If my guess is right, perhaps we'll see something on Tuesday; which, coincidentally, is Nintendo's e3 conference. |

Chin said the game will be revealed on june the 6th. The teaser image is hidden somewhere. Maybe the Assasins creed T shirt image is the teaser ? Maybe the one where we see Yu Gi Oh on the background ? On another hand, be sure that DW7E is not one of the two games. The EU/NA release will not be announced that soon. |

Not really sure about my suggestion, but if KOEI's announcement game were to be a collaboration game, my guts says that there should be another game company right next to the KOEI section. And check out the layout of the E3. https://p.twimg.com/AuNoO7FCIAEGs0y.jpg:large It might not be accurate, but if it's collabs then KOEI is either collabing with either Sega, Square Enix or maybe even Namco Bandai again. Here are the possibilities: Square-Enix: Final Fantasy game Sega: Probably Sonic perhaps. Namco Bandai: Simple, anime! This is just what I think so it might not be true.

Ugh. The only way I would support that, is if it got FF players to check out the Dynasty Warriors side of things. Or if Vannille was in it. |

Figured it out. It is a Final Fantasy Warriors game. I've analyzed the floor plans to each E3 since 2009, and came up with this startling conclusion. Spoiler: click to toggle This is a close up of the floor plan of E3 2009. Notice that Koei is sitting right next to Namco Bandai? It was around the time that they were localizing Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2, am I right, BlackKite? Spoiler: click to toggle This is the floor plan for E3 2010. That year, if BlackKite's math is right, they were localizing DW7 and had no plans for a DWG3 collab with Bandai. Spoiler: click to toggle Same Hall, different year. This is E3, 2011. Last year, Koei themselves were pushing Ninja Gaiden 3 while Namco Bandai was showing One Piece Pirate Warriors video. This was the year that Romance 12 was ultimately announced at the TGS. Spoiler: click to toggle E3 2012. Notice their positioning? Diagonally from Namco Bandai and right across the street from Square. Heck, Koei and SE even share the same two last cubical numbers, 47. Still don't believe me? Ask yourself this, does the Final Fantasy franchise have enough playable characters to support a Warriors style game? Answer: Final Fantasy 1 only had one character real character in the game, and he is called the "Warrior of Light". Final Fantasy 2 has 8 playable characters, Final Fantasy 3 has 4 playable characters, Final Fantasy 4 has 12 playable characters, Final Fantasy 5, depending on what version, either has 4 or 5 playable characters, but for the sake of argument, I'll say 4, Final Fantasy 6 has 14 playable characters, Final Fantasy 7, THE CORE GAME, has 9 playable characters. Final Fantasy 8 has 11 playable characters, Final Fantasy 9 has 8 playable characters, Final Fantasy 10(and 10-2 by extension) has 8 characters, Final Fantasy 12 has 10 characters, and Final Fantasy 13 (and 13-2 by extension) has 9 for a grand total of 98 playable characters. That is not going into non playable characters, the villains, the summons and the like. |

You've got me totally convinced, but I hope to god you're wrong. If this doesn't increase the sales of other Musou games, then I have no interest whatsoever in this title, if you're correct that is.

Totally agreed, though it's a possibility my friend. You never know till we hear it. Right now, I'm crossing my fingers for SE and Sega, though mostly on SE. Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy, we'll see about that.

I wouldn't say that it would increase sales, but I would put it as it would generate new fans. You see, Final Fantasy has been around for 25 years(as of December 18). And during that 25 years, it has become an international force in JRPGs. Not bad for someone who was considering folding if it didn't sell. And if Koei is doing a game based on that franchise, then you can follow the money to Koei's coffers, but the key is can they keep those fans without resorting to SE again. We shall wait and see. |
