Good thing I have nothing against ecchi games (hell, I already pre-ordered a figure of Ikaruga). From what I saw of the 3DS versions, it's a classic beat-em-up, but in 3D. You can also score combos, but you get an eternity to link hits, and the number of techniques is not great. If they manage to fix those problems in the Vita version (especially since it really is closer to the Musou gameplay), I'll certainly get it. |

On Vita and plays like Musou? Needs to be on PS3 and play like Basara. It already has a genderbent Masamune and everything. So...this, Oboro Muramasa and Soul Sacrifice? Vita is starting to look good. Famitsu reveals the last 5 new characters. |

Let me guess, you think they're 10 years old because this is anime? Despite, you know, their proportions clearly implying otherwise?
Gotta love how you cite some completely unrelated websites as the sources without citing Famitsu itself. The trailer did seem to have some cool combat going on, with aerial moves and stuff, but it's still not quite enough to convince me that it's going to be as amazing as Basara. The worst thing is, they probably won't bother giving any details about the combat mechanics, since the whole marketing campaign is centered around boobs. Of course, I'm still optimistic, but very, very cautiously so. I'm weak to games with huge casts, and Ryoubi (that rifle girl) seems very classy, so I will probably buy the game even if the gameplay turns out to be sub-par. |

Just a Senran Kagura heads-up - a social game Senran Kagura New Wave has recently been announced. So far there's 10 academies (a total of 50 characters) confirmed. 5 academies have been fully revealed already. Again, the tragedy of social games. A shame to see so many perfectly great "This one time, at band camp..." |

I approve of this mecha-musume design for Muramasa, even if their names don't really have anything to do with any historical counterparts. Well, it doesn't seem like they intend to make more games any time soon, so I'll consider this to be a preview of the sequels. Though I wonder why there are no Shinovi Versus newcomers here. |

3 more academies revealed for New Wave. Some interesting concepts here and there though I think most aren't as good as the ones from the actual games. Not like that's a bad thing. I also get the impression the final roster will likely be twice it's actual size (character centric mobile games seem to have a thing for 3 digit figures). Dear Capcom, Do yourselves a favor and snag this IP. It's freakin' Basara for pervs! Merchandise potential alone is ridiculous. You're welcome.  (Oh new smilie, you came into my life at such a convenient time!)I still can't get over the irony that my favorite character in this series is the gothic lolita. Bewbs must be losing their power over me... |

The most surprising thing is that the same is true for the game's fanbase: Mirai came first on their latest popularity poll. When people play a boob-centric game and love the flattest loli the most, there's something wrong going on, either with the game or with the fans. By the way, the latest New Wave additions seem more tame than usual to me. And those measurements seem to be pretty much random by now. Ultra weird. I tend to levitate towards the dark horses. My other favorites are the teacher (I think she's a NPC), estrogen Jotaro and genderbent Masamune. Personally, I just think she's got more things going for her than most of the other characters: gothic lolita costume, eyepatch, cat ears/tail combo, duck face and a machine gun under her skirt. Speaking of Homura, what's up with her new outfit? IMHO, simple is better sometimes. |

So my favorite three are the assertive first and the very definite last two. *poker face* Not surprised to see test tube girl that low. Well guess what, the gameplay doesn't actually look that bad. I've certainly become optimistic about the system, it seems to be about more than T&A by now. Does anyone have any idea about the difficulty in the 3DS games? If it's at least as difficult as Basara's Hard mode, I'll be happy. Now that you mention it, generally speaking it seems that the curvier they get, the lower they rate. Mind = blown There IS something wrong with either the fanbase or the game!  Twitter things are off my legislation, I'm afraid. Doesn't really matter because Suzune and Daidoji aren't even votable. Senran Kagura? More like Apartheid Kagura.  And as for the new girls, I don't even know who I'd vote for. I like Murasaki's design but Sasuke called and he wants his weapon back. Maybe Murakumo because machete + Hannya mask is teh sexx0r. Hippie pirate witch reaper girl is kinda interesting too. |

The latest issue of Famitsu finally gives us some details on the system - but first, the multiplayer!
At least they were smart enough to add a "neutral" multiplayer mode, though the other two are pretty tame as far as fanservice games go. Now, the system. There are three outfits to choose from, and of course, you are supposed to switch them mid-game (it's all about those transformation scenes, after all). The default outfit is the uniform: you can't use your best moves, so it's difficult to fight the bosses, but you easily accumulate lots of money and EXP. Next one is the ninja outfit, which is the most beginner-friendly: your health regenerates automatically, while your guard gets stronger. The last one is the "Shadow" outfit (which is basically the underwear): your attack is tripled, and you can use your strongest attack, which is not available in the other two outfits. You also blow away surrounding enemies when switching to this outfit, but your defenses get weaker. Oh, and there is also a clash system which looks similar to the Basara one. |
