Not a big deal for me............because I don't want to buy them again this time around.
I already have them for DW7, and I have DW6 if I want to relieve their looks.

However, it was $0.99 when I bought them for DW7.
Not going to make a big deal over 99 cents.

Lucky....

Australia had to pay 1.69 or something for them.

And that was when Japan had the costumes for free. The prices for us will probably be jacked up for sure now that even the aforementioned country is paying for them. :kurokan:

But I agree with your sentiment. I ain't got time fo' buying the same set of costumes again when there are two (four if you count WOZ and WO3) games which have them lol.

The fact that DW6 costumes were paid DLC in DW7 is exactly why its annoying that they are paid DLC for DW8.

We have to buy them all over again, and that is just irritating...
or not... i did invest in the legacy costumes last time round but not this time - well maybe the DW6 ones if truly yearn for that damned epic Wei Yan outfit but for me i started thinking about why they are bothering with the legacy costumes all over again when you think how many characters have been added since then and as such wont get new outfits via this pack - the characters who arguably need new ones the most.

WO3 strikeforce outfit approach was the best... legacy outfits but inclusive of every character from the roster - still better scenario all round would be everyone getting a brand new costume with some a bit more fitting for the game itself... i laughed at Peter Pan and Captain Hook but the XL costumes as said by others were head and shoulders above any of the other costumes on offer.

Still what are the odds they are gonna release DW4 + 5 outfits yet again and for a price? <_<

I don't plan on buying any legacy outfits this time around, because I already bought them in DW7...and didn't even use them for anything other than dicking about in the cutscene viewer and stuff.

I never use any alternate outfits except for the aforementioned reason, so I dont know why I bother buying them. So I doubt i'll be buying any outfits for DW8. Especially since I already bought all the legacy costumes in DW7 and the modern jobs costumes in DW8 don't really impress me.

Yeah - the only reason i actually bought the legacy outfits last time round was purely down to them being so cheap i thought "what the hell" but like you having downloaded them i only used maybe two or three of them (Cao Cao and Yuan Shao if i remember correctly)... is that value for money now ive proved to myself they are far from essential purchases.

Perhaps when ive played the game from start to finish and unlocked all the cutscenes i guess i may grab the Wei Originals pack because they are my favoured kingdom and it should at least provide a short term amusement for when i replay the kingdom again to unlock what ifs etc but in cold hard cash the expense to grabbing much of DW DLC in general these days is far too much. Im only really down as a cert for Stage with animal packs and the new weapon dlcs (based on pricing and feedback likely also superior weapon skin pack)

for me, alt costumes add replayability. And i happen to enjoy some of the characters past costumes over their current ones

: )

im really hoping they bring back the fairytale and school themed costumes, and then add new fairytale costumes and school ones for the new characters. But thats just me.

The issue however is becoming a case of should we be so readily keen of being charged time and time again for the same content?

Im not sure those enamoured with that prospect is shrinking from one game to another... take here, a DW fansite but despite us all being vocal fans of the series were are seeing next to no real demand for the return of DW4-5 costumes in DW8 as an example. What may add replay value for you doesnt seem to having the same effect for many others.

Besides a batch of NEW costumes all round is more exciting based on the the discussion it creates around here - people want costumes akin to the themes and quality that the XL efforts brought... not many are actually saying just bring back out what weve had before because that does not create much hype. Strikeforce outfits WERE demanded by a few for WO as DLC but im not sure many bought the original School and Fantasy costumes in DW7 to really see them release them all over again for DW8 especially if they charge the same pricing as they did before.

I suppose im kinda pining for quality over quantity on this one... especially as if they keep releasing it all by the time you see something you quite fancy regardless of old or new there is a real chance youve found yourself done with the game by then.

^I agree with this. I do love the old costumes and I would like to see them back, but only if they are there are unlockables from the beginning or at least just free DLC. I don't fancy paying for them yet again.

New costumes are always more interesting. Still though I'd rather "new" costumes along the lines of ROTK or Dynasty Tactics than gimmicky original costumes tbh. I really liked the disguises costumes that the SW characters had in WO3 (where they each dressed as a DW). I wouldn't mind seeing them do something like that in DW8.

Im not joking when i say i would buy Kessen 2 themed outfits in a heartbeat... i want to see Xu Zhu in a dress for some extreme belly laughs as well as Yu Jin playable in XL just for HD :OMG: s

Now that i think about most of the cast of playables in DW were in that game... its a feasible option and im sure they could come up with some mental designs for those who were not in the game. Seriously if you have not seen the character deisgns in that game before guys check them out because you will never look at the likes of Dian Wei and Zhu Rong the same again

I would second a return of Cai Wenji's ax crazy barbarian witch costume anyday :sly:

I wish the older costumes were unlockable in game for more replay value. WO3 had the DW6 + 5 ones, only charging for 4 + 5 but if all of them were in game to be unlocked and they churned out either strikeforce/kessen/rotk themed costumes I'd much rather have them.

I'll probably get DW6 cost. but nothing more from the past.
If they make new costumes in the line of the DW7 fantasy one's I'll get them,
or maybe a new fairytale .

Not to mention that this time Koei didn't give an alternate color costume to all characters, only to a few lucky one's

Maybe they'll base them off something...Gahhh can't think atm

But if they did fantasy (sort of) costumes for all characters then that would make our day :)

I have a few idea they could use...Summerwear (like stuff you wear in the summer), rockers/ popstars, animals (like furries and stuff, animal ears and tails, maybe like an attached accessory)....and thats about it...

That giant roasted chicken on a stick is obviously Xu Zhu's.

And Zhuge Liang's fan looks as if he stole Zhurong's knives, recoloured them and then stick them to the hilt. :XD

Dong Zhuo's the football.

How should Yue Jin's joke weapon skin be a football when he has two hookswords?

They are referencing the relation of the joke weapon skins to the modern outfit DLC... Yue Ying is dressed as a rugby player for his modern costume thus the rugby ball was designed for him, naturally they couldnt make a rugby themed dlc weapon around twin hookswords so this is the compromise.

Not the weapon it self, the connected character's costume. It's getting annoying having to see that repeated so much.

I would think Zhuge Dan's joke weapon would be a Riding Crop.

Lols, when I saw Xu Shu in that picture on the website someone linked why did I think of some character off GTA series or Saints Row series?

Some off these weapons though look quite imaginative and I'm sure the staff had fun designing them too. Just a shame it seems as though that you have to buy them as packs and not one bundle?

As for the Axe that is like the x2 damage axe, all I can think off is "Oh no they didn't". But I wonder if that is meant to be like a carnival prize toy or something since we have an amusement park theme and its iconic to the series?
