I dunno, I think THIS picture shows it a little better. They're only like twice the size of his head.

Really that's me only problem with these greaves, they look cool, and i'm sure the moveset'll be okay, but there's no need for them to be ridiculously oversized like this to fit bigger characters, when most of the characters you'd generally see them on would be smaller like Suo.

Does anyone know where I change my town to the modern one? I tried all the menus in shosei mode and spoke to all the shop owners, can't find it anywhere :(

It's the same reason Chunhua's weapon is larger. So there wouldn't be much problems with the size of the weapon when larger characters equip it.

Though Chunhua's could have at least been equipped on her fingernails rather than the whole hand, but again, how would that same exact weapon (size and all) work on larger characters.

They already proved in WO3 that they can get the weapons to switch to your current equipped model. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out how to test if Weapon 1 or Weapon 2 is your EX weapon and use that model. If they don't have their EX equipped, then they have the default 3rd weapon. If both weapons are the EX weapon, use the higher level model.
Yeah, well in WO3 it was the only weapon the character had, there's a huge difference between that the weapon switch system. Not to say it couldn't be done...but it's a heckuva lot harder than you're trying to make it out as. In fact regardless i'd much prefer a suggestion like strikers, because it could fix just about all the problems I have with weapon switch. :) \
My ass it's harder than it sounds. That's something that can easily be accomplished with a piece of code that just checks the player's equipped inventory. The only thing that makes it even remotely daunting is that they enabled free weapon selection on both slots. And even that can be resolved with an additional check.

Maybe they didn't discover the "IF" instruction in their programing language yet.

After hitting the start button, go to the second option from the top, and it should be somewhere in that menu , check all of those options, you'll know when you find if there are 3 towns, or 2 if you haven't cleared Shosei mode yet, sorry for the lack of details. Oh there should also be some preview pics of the town.

Speaking on the new weapon, depending on the fourth and fifth designs, I may stick with the level two version, because I'm sure they'll look far more fitting and realistic looking like the most of the weapons on that level, I'll just fuse them with some Lv.10 skills to compensate the weakness in strength.

Who cares about the size of the greaves when you compare how big some of the other weapons are.

Also, if they give it to Suo, I'm all for the nunchucks being made CAW exclusive in 8:E :D

...because it looks weirder for a guy to have a big piece of metal the size of his torso hanging on his leg? Though it is only a cosmetic thing, heck it may only be me, but I just plain don't like it, so I care. Most of the other big weapons are made to go with big characters, a speedy martial arts set is not that.

Oh sure, it's fine if it's a weapon that YOU don't like that falls into no-wielder limbo! :meantongue: J/k but seriously though, I hate the idea of CAW exclusive weapons. :/ That just takes things even further away from the characters.

It looks weird for that but Xiahou Ba wielding something that was ripped off from a Gundam Suit is ok? or the screw crossbow being held by Deng Ai? that thing would surely be ridiculous too but nobody was complaining about them.

Normally the weapons get bigger and flashier looking as they go up in rank, so chances are the lvl 1 and 2 will be smaller than this. (assuming that they stick to the one in screenshots being the 3rd skin)

I'd be fine if any of the Pre 7 Empires fell into CAW limbo tbh. Compared to the weapons given to declone in 7:E and 8, the rest of them look dull, uninspired and less flashy in comparison. I only really use the weapons of my favourites when picking from that bunch. Besides, CAWs need love too, could give them even more musous to use

Hmm, aye, i'd say it does. Before the lance Xiahou Ba was already using a sword nearly twice his size (Although oversized swords...well they're a bit more common place. Said sword would be one weapon I wouldn't mind being replaced with something better also. xD ) and hey the rocket was made for him. Ba always had that heavy armored look, a rocket helping him zip around might be weird for a battlefield in ancient china, but visually it doesn't bother me at all.

The screw crossbow...well we have no idea what character that would go to yeah? Deng Ai's a big guy, he could use acceptably, but his drill spear is way more fitting. Still though the screw crossbow looks like a weapon for a large character. (Remains to be seen if it will be though.)

The greaves though, you'd expect to find on someone smaller, being martial arts with all sorts of aerial combo's and all. So they look out of place with the targeted character type, that's all. Huge weapon made for huge character = looks alright. Huge weapon me for fast, smaller character = not so much really.

It is a matter of aesthetics not anachronisms.

The things are so bulky that they look like they should be preventing him from lifting his feet and walking, not enabling him to kick them around wildly. Something smaller would likely be more visually appeasing for a martial arts moveset like the one these grieves are meant to add.

If we're bringing aesthetics into it how can people like Xiahou Ba even jump when they use their weapons. Surely the weight of the armor and the weapon wouldn't let them strike some pre musou attack pose before falling gracefully from the sky.

I'm no programmer (had some classes before switching majors) but even I know how easy basic yes no logic is to program. Its just a case of them not caring enough to go that extra step. :hmmm:

As for the metal boot sizes....this actually goes right into more programming logic. If they had multiple models of the weapon instead of the "one size fits all" approach, it would be better. You can say there are already certain "body" classes in the game, so you could also scale the weapon to fit class 1, class 2, etc etc when doing a model check.
NOT HARD, but too lazy. One size fits all it is.

Not exactly the aesthetic I was talking about, since that's something every character needs to be able to do...but i guess you've got a point if we ever want to appeal to koei for physics. I'm only talking about characters looking good with their weapons, those weapons SHOULD be made to fit them after all. Xiahou Ba can jump with his rockets boosters is you need a reason. At the end of the day his weapon still works with him.

Xiao Qiao's weapon is simply Iron Fan with its size change. If you want to look at 4th or 5th weapons, you can look at Wynter's Weapon Gallery. If that's not the one your looking for, then I apologize.

Sidge Lance is fine, so I don't think Xiahou Ba need some change. The Screwing crossbow, in the order hand, I think new character like Yu Jin or Cheng Pu could work out, but the problem is that one is old and other is middle age warrior like Yue Jin. So the theories is still in the air.

I`m for dual knives too, but... it ain`t happen. Highly likely he will get one of the dlc weapons, maybe emei daggers, or maybe even flame sword. No ideas, but something different from dlc takes more time on development, so I doubt it.

@ Wynter, Maybe people actually LIKE the weapons people have now? Maybe they like the character having a weapon that fits them, and would prefer the weapon they like being attached to a character it actually fits instead of sitting in some damn no-user limbo? I dunno, people must just be silly.
Lol @ you actually preferring the nunchaku and dao over the new weapons.

Ah, I see. I think Wynter might update the images in Weapon Gallery. I don't when he uploads it but I'm guessing around 2-3 days or earlier.
